As another thread closed, C4K made this statement...
Roger,
Can you define exactly what fruitful is? What may be considered fruitful to some christians may not be fruitful to others.
I have learned much through reading and listening to many posts on the BB, where others disagree. If the Spirit tells us something is right, why should there be disagreements? Someone is not listening well apparently.
I have many translations, but prefer the KJV because the Spirit bears witness with my Spirit that it is the most accurate version of the Word of God available to mankind. If monks felt another transcript needed to be thrown in a garbage can, they had good reason to toss it.

There are others who will say that God's Spirit bears witness with their spirit that the ESV is God's Word.
The problem is, how can this be fruitful? There is no Scripture that tells which version to use so we are left up to every man telling us what "God's Spirit" does and who are any of us to argue?
Where does the Bible say that God's Spirit will bear witness with our spirit to tell us which version to use.
This is an ascriptural topic, that is why little if any fruit can be borne. -
Posting scripture would help a lot. :love2:
We can always get some good for ourselves from
the Scripture: God's Holy Written Word.
2 Timothy 3:16-17 (KJV1611 Edition):
All Scripture is giuen by inspiration
of God, & is profitable for doctrine, for reproofe,
for correction, for instrution in righteousnesse,
17 That the man of God may be perfect,
throughly furnished vnto all good workes.

All scripture is given by inspiration
of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof,
for correction, for instruction in righteousness:

throughly furnished unto all good works. -
Rehashing ideas that have been discussed over and over again without resolution is not fruitful.
Rehashing issues that have no scriptural basis either way is not fruitful, it is only man's opinions. -
Why I am KJV Only 2
I.
Point of order: While some may see little difference between
Why I am KJV Only 2
and
2 Why I am KJV Only
if all you can see is the first sixteen characters it looks like this:
Why I am KJV Only
2 Why I am KJV On
You can't tell the first from
Why I am KJV Only 3
Why I am KJV Only 2
Why I am KJV Only
etc.
Thank you for your help.

I am a KJV Only 2!
I prefer the Majority Text. -
I am KJVO because I prefer the Majority Text. This shall be the point of discussion for this thread. -
The KJV's New Testament is based upon a Textus Receptus edition, which differs from the Majority Text in many places. Seems as this view isn't compatible with "Things that are different are not the same".
-
KJBO n MT r therefore mutually exclusive. -
And we might add that the KJV doesn't match either the TR or the MT exactly.
-
Should be 'KJVs' (plural) not 'KJV' (singular) for many applications.
Should be 'received texts' (plural) not 'received text' (singular)
for most applications. -
Ok, so does anyone care to examine version with version?
Since the arguement always refers to archaic words in the KJB, then why doesn't anyone show how limited, delusive, deludid, not quite sensible, misleading, etc. each is, or isn't?
One can argue preference all day long, but when comparing verse to verse version to version......... WITHOUT the usual prejudice!:applause:
All will find the proper usage and defintion to be correct when doing so, in the KJB , of course! -
Exactly, I saw the truth and the lies fighting over Bible issues, Bible versions, Biblical doctrines, etc,. That is where I stand here and others stand there -- still disagrrements.
See blue bold:
Correct, I agree with you because the Holy Spirit knows the truth, that I missed, and showed me the truth that the KJV is most accurate translation over modern versions available today. -
The KJV also says, "Test the spirits". There is but one HOLY Spirit.
-
No one? You forget something or deny them. Many MV defenders “do not realize” or “deny” that many apostates produced modern versions, for example of Dr. Bruce Metzger. These MV defenders defend MVs because they helped those apostates producing many new modern versions.
You said that I err. No! Read my comment above. I do not see how I err.
Cause divisions? Show me the Scriptures that allow “spiritual” Christians can fellowship with “sinning” Christians? -

At least one drunk helped make the KJV. God can use anyone to do anything He wants done. The argument that "The KJV was made by Godly translators, while others were not" is a bummer.
