Askjo FINALLY makes a feeble attempt to answer the question and Dr. Bob closes the thread!
Oh well, here we go:Hebrew "aeezer" meaning "helper" + neged + ke meaning "suitable" - "ke" is a marker indicating similarity or correspondence, and thus "comparable."The last one, "comparable" has already been disproven, and you have been shown to be wrong. Give me chapter and verse for the rest of them and I will gladly look them up. If you can, of course.

Askjo ANSWERED a question?
Next thing we'll see is Michelle finally posting all the verses saying the AV1611 is THE only Bible!
Glad you kept this going. -
Doc Bob,
As you know, I actually asked Michelle (and I know you are probably groaning) to post those verses she keeps talking about, so that we could put that issue to rest; finally......But, I did open a seperate thread for it.
Maybe I have missed a lot of posts (unlike yourself, being the moderator and having to read every single post) and I have yet to see a KJVo bring their "missing verses" to the table. Although, we all know the ones she is talking about. So, I thought once and for all I would let it occur. If you feel that is too much, then you have my blessings to terminate what I started. (Although, I am well aware you do not need my permission.) :D
(...ducking his head as he realizes the doc has probably thrown a few books at the far wall when he opened the thread.) -
Not one out of 50 people would know "meet" as an adjective can mean, "precisely adapted to a given situation, need, or circumstance." I think that "suitable" would be a better replacement word than "comparable".
-
-
Yeah, that's ONE way of looking at it, but many people perceive "comparable" as "equal or nearly equal", which would suggest Eve was another MAN, which is absurd, therefore raising an accuracy question in their minds. Actually, it's a trivial semantics discussion unless someone rendered "better than" or something similar into the verse.

Come on askjoe, the "y" on his keyboard doesn't work. Give him a break. Everybody knows that ALL expensive manuscripts are kept under lock and "key". I don't know Hebrew and I knew that!
Oh well, you guys forgive me, it's been a looooong day. . . -
-
Me thinks you are going to have to show him what the marker "Ke" actually looks like.
-
Actually, since I know nothing about Hebrew (short of right to left) what does the marker Ke look like? I ask this question because I have been looking through my "Biblical Hebrew -- A Text and Workbook" by Bonnie Pdrotti Kittel, Vicki Hoffner, and Rebecca Abts Wright.
It does not appear (that I can find) to be a vowel class symbol. Was it also added by the Massoretes when these symbols were added?
Hey, I don't know, I gotta ask.
Thx. -
I just spent 20 minutes doing just that. I clicked on "edit" when I realized I had not completed the post. I added all the information while in "edit" and when I tried to send it I got the "sorry but the time to edit has expired."
I HATE THIS STUPID, IDIOTIC, ANAL RETENTIVE FORUM AND WHOEVER MADE UP THAT STUPID, IDIOTIC, ANAL RETENTIVE RULE. AND THE IDIOTIC SOFT WARE THAT WILL ALLOW YOU TO GET THE EDIT WINDOW BUT WON'T ALLOW YOU TO SEND 20 MINUTES OF HARD WORK!
THIS PLACE IS RUN BY A BUNCH OF MORONS! -
NOT TO MENTION THAT IT DELETES ALL THE INFORMATION SO YOU CAN'T CUT AND PASTE IT INTO A SUBSEQUENT POST. IN ORDER TO POST IT I WILL HAVE TO SPEND 20 MINUTES TYPING IT IN ALL OVER AGAIN.
I REITERATE! THIS PLACE IS RUN BY A BUNCH OF MORONS! -
I think, in reality that the blame may fall on the software used. It is by Infopop Corporation. The board does have control over the edit time, but that was changed to prevent attacks that were then removed when turned in.
The same thing happened to me yesterday and I learned to write long posts on my word processor and clip and paste. Just an idea. It is frustrating, but it is ... afterall, just software. -
Italics AND capitals?
I suggest you ask for a refund.
(BTW: Happened to me at times; I don't blame the board but myself for not saving it somewhere else.) -
I make it a practice on long posts to copy the text I've typed before I hit the reply or edit button. That way I can just paste it back in if it gets unaccountably erased. It hasn't happened here, but on other forums I've lost some fairly lengthy posts. Being a slow typist, I was somewhat miffed, to say the least.
-
It's "maroons" that run the software. Maroons.
-
BTW, I think that time expiration thingy has happened to all of us, use to happen to me all the time on the C./A forum, and alwyas just when Yelsew made his point, but my rebuttal would have silenced him, in fact, that is why he has so many posts, most of mine were deleted by the cyber-demon.
Then, this moron, learned to either type in Ms Word and save what I really really wanted to post, or to copy it in the reply box.
I'm not going to tell how many thousands of posts I would have racked up if I had learned either of those tricks sooner, get it Phillip? sooner...
God Bless All
Bro. Dallas
