Hell is in fact the Lake of fire and is composed of “fire and brimstone” – “eternal fire”.
Fiery Hell == Eternal Fire == Fire and Brimstone == Second Death (lake of fire)
1.
Eternal fire = Hell (fiery Hell). (Matt 18:8-9) and “full payment” for the debt of sin is made there. Matt 18:34-35
The final Judgment is one of “Eternal Fire” Jude 7 and Sodom shows that..
2.
The eternal fire sent to Sodom was in the form of “Fire and Brimstone: (Luke 17:2-30) and it will be JUST THE SAME in the judgment of Christ on the wicked.
3. The second Death is that Fire and Brimstone judgment sent upon the wicked after the millennium (Rev 21:8):
Will people burn in hell forever?

Fiery Hell – is in fact “eternal fire”
Eternal fire is what consumed Sodom and Gomorrah – they are exhibited as a perfect example of the “punishment of eternal fire”
Sodom and Gomorrah were Destroyed by “fire and brimstone”. So eternal fire is composed of fire and brimstone and the “destruction” it causes is exhibited by Sodom and Gomorrah.
The Lake of Fire is composed of “fire and brimstone” (The ultimate exhibit of the “punishment of eternal fire”.) This is the “second death” which is the punishment for sin “The wages of sin is death but the gift of God is eternal life”
-
Death is ended.
"The last enemy that shall be destroyed is death." (1 Cor. 15:26)
The Lake of FIRE IS the 2nd death Rev 20:18 – So it too ends.
The wicked are “consumed” they are “destroyted”.
The same concept of Kill and “Destroy” applied in the real world to real saints really being killed by real wicked people is applied to BOTH the body and the soul in hell fire in Christ’s warning .
In Matt 10 Christ goes from the idea of “Kill” to the even MORE complete idea of “Kill and destroy” in the sequence above. This progression is seen clearly as Luke relates the same teaching below.
Rev 20:9 “Fire DEVOURED the wicked”
Rev 11:18 “Destroy those who Destroy the earth”
2Thess 1:9 The wicked pay the “penalty of eternal Destruction”
Ps 21:8-10 “devoured” – “Destroyed”

The Quantification principle in the sin-suffering economy of God.
The context is the fiery hell of God where both body and soul are cast into hell and “destroyed” Matt 10:28.
Luke 12
4 ""I say to you, My friends, do not be afraid of those who kill the body and after that have no more that they can do.
5 ""But I will warn you whom to fear: fear the One who, after He has killed, has authority to cast into hell; yes, I tell you, fear Him!

Matt 10
28 ""Do not fear those who kill the body but are unable to kill the soul; but rather fear Him who is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.Click to expand...
It is in the context of “that fiery hell” that we find this statement of the quantification of sin and suffering. A sin-suffering economy that not only results in a just measuring out of the quilt and punishment of mankind – but also results in exact payment being owed such that the Savior of mankind can take the exact debt for not only OUR sins but “the Sins of the Whole World”

47 ""And that slave who knew his master's will and did not get ready or act in accord with his will, will receive many lashes,
48 but the one who did not know it, and committed deeds worthy of a flogging, will receive but few. From everyone who has been given much, much will be required; and to whom they entrusted much, of him they will ask all the more.

These will pay the penalty of eternal destruction, away from the presence of the Lord and from the glory of His power,Click to expand...
The sinner must “repay all” the debt owed – not “some” or “eternally less”.
In the model of eternal suffering the sinner is always an “eternity” away from paying ALL that is owed.
Sin and Sinners are “exterminated” not “perpetuated”
Is 13:9 – sinners are exterminated from the land.

Behold, the day of the LORD is coming,Cruel, with fury and burning anger,To make the land a desolation; And He will exterminate its sinners from it.

God’s plan does not allow for sinners – eternally enabled to sin against God.

23 therefore the LORD God sent him out from the garden of Eden, to cultivate the ground from which he was taken.
24 So He drove the man out; and at the east of the garden of Eden He stationed the cherubim and the flaming sword which turned every direction to guard the way to the tree of life.

Examples of “Eternal”
Examples of “Forever”
Deut 15:17 – Slave forever
Philemon 1:15 – slave forever
(yet set free at death – Job 3:19)
Is 34:10 smoke goes up forever (Vs 11, 17 and later inhabited)
God takes no pleasure in the 2nd death
Ezek 18:23,32
Isaiah 57:15-16 -
Rev 14:10 says WE will be there AT the Hell event "Torment of fire and brimstone" for the 2nd death takes place "IN the presence of the Lamb AND OF His Holy ones"!
We will "ever be WITH the Lord" and so we too are there to see our loved ones suffer. -

Isaiah 57:15-16
Rev 14:10 The 2nd death takes place IN the presence of the Lamb AND of His Holy ones! We will “ever Be WITH the Lord” and so we too will be there to see – to witness the torment of our Loved ones!
What God must “suffer through” we must “suffer through” in watching that event. It is part of the “sin cure” for the universe. -
Come on Bob,
7 long posts in 12 minutes time. What you copying and pasting from. And I am not reading them anyway. -
You'll get used to it...............That's why most of us just make our statement and ignore the rest.
Cheers,

HP: You raise a good point. I would like to see some changes to eliminate this from happening. I would like to see someone propose that one can post a maximum of two posts at a time, and that there be a limit to the words allowed, say 1000 words for starters. We would all benefit from it, teaching us to be more concise and to the point, and not waste space like is often done. I am as guilty as well for posts of too great a length. -
I think that would be a wonderful rule.
-
Bob's posts were not overly long. The reason for that is that there already is a limit in place to how many words can be posted in one post. Look back and see how many short posts he had to post to continue after he had posted his main thought in the longer post.

What Bob ignores in quoting a lengthy list of references is definitions of key words like:
death, resurrection and resurrection bodies, destroy.
What do these words really mean in their context? Not what Bob thinks they mean. He deliberately changes their meaning to fit his own theology.

Thanks for asking Rev --
Of course that would mean "posting some Bible texts" and there are those here who would respond in the form "we don't need no stinking scripture here".
So ... might want to be prepared to read a few of those kinds of responses. -
These 3 posts show the Bible position on the finality and "destruction" caused by hell - which is the lake of fire.

First of all my name is not ex-disciple but xdisciplex.
And second of all I am not going to play this game. Do you think I don't know what these questions are supposed to do? And then this 1-10 stuff, I mean come on. Do you have some sort of calculator which allows you to calculate how christian I am? Do you think you can judge wether I am a christian or not?Click to expand...
You handled yourself very gracefully here with your response
