Will YOU Stand With Me and NEVER Forget the Victims of 9/11

I am making a BOLD request, and that request is for Baptist Board members to NEVER, ever, forget those who died on 9/11, as well as their family and friends.

Now, before some of you start "jumping" on me for making this request [a second time, mind you], don't forget that it was not me who moved the jurisdiction of the trial for the five terrorists to a New York Criminal Court.

This move is assuredly going to cause tremendous heartache, and pain for those who lost family, friends and loved ones on that fateful day in September...

This is not a frivolous request...because it is important that ALL American people stand in a spirit of solidarity with these family and friends; it is important that we pray and intercede for each person who has to face the painful memories of that day of infamy.

The Obama Administration may, or may not be right with their decision, and only time will judge it to be a smart move, or a bonehead idea!

HOWEVER, it remains a fact remains that this trial is coming to New York, and as Christians, this is the time to pray for that city; its families; its safety; and its emotional well being.

Thanks for considering this request, and should you take the challenge, I'll meet you, in spirit, on my knees!

If September 11 falls on a workday it is a workday where I work. It has never been anything else.

I agree that December 7, 1941, and September 11, 2001, should be days that Americans remember the significance of.

I will never forget the loss of friends and the pain their families are experiencing. I will also never forget the sheer terror of living 30 miles from Ground Zero and living through that day - and speaking to so many friends who barely escaped that day.

During the 6 years, I was a driving instructor, many of my students were from NY City (usually attending SU) - I have always wonder if any of them were victims.

I didn't realize how close you were to this terrorist act, both in distance, and by way of personal knowledge of the folks who lost their life and, or the many, many loved ones who left behind.:flower:

I will add you to my prayers, as I'm quite sure the memories will never be too far away.

My heart goes out to you both. I can't imagine how terrifying that day was to anyone living in and around New York City, DC, or Pennsylvania.:tear:

Paul - It was so scary. We had fighter jets flying REALLY low over our house because practically in our back yard is a huge power plant - the largest on Long Island. If this went out, it could affect the entire northeast coast.

Additionally, there was a young man who had been in our youth group back in the 90s who perished on 9-11. What was sad that just a couple of years after that, his only brother died by being electrocuted at work, leaving behind a wife and young child. Now all that's left is their daughter. His mom spoke to Joe who was in one of the towers and he told her that they were to go to the roof because there was no way to get down. She never heard from him again and they never found his remains.

I can only begin to imagine how terrified I would've felt. Knowing the jets were not there to practice, but to protect from possible attacks. As I said earlier, my heart goes out for your family.

The story of the personal loss of the one family who had a youth in your youth group was profound and heartbreaking. What happened that day can never be forgotten, because to do so, sets us up for another 9/11, and it could be more involved, and more massive than anything we could ever begin to imagine.

Most American's, and the church in general, tend to think 9/11 was a fluke. They act as if it will never happen again, because we are in America. Well, it not only can happen, it can, and Will be more massive and destructive than we could ever imagine, if, we forget that day, and Pearl Harbor, too!

in the last 60 years, America has gotten hit twice, and that sends a strong message to the radicals of the world, that America has soft spots.

Thanks for sharing your story, it makes this post more real, and worth holding dear to our hearts.
