I was wondering if some find it offensive to have women partaking in discussions on the Baptist Board. I have read, in other posts, that some women are cut short or are looked upon as just women answering and being ignored. I would think this would be that some men would find it unbiblical for a woman to tell a man, or to correct him. Is there a remote possibility that I am correct in my assumptions?

TheOliveBranch, if you ever witness any discrimination or belittling on this board, I trust that you will use the "Report Post" thingy at the bottom of each post (coupled with the whistle icon) and report the abuse to us. We are here to serve, and make it sure that this type of thing does not happen.
Your humble servant in Christ, Barnabas (one of the BB Administrators)

It often takes me by surprise to find any man who has a problem with woman speaking their mind in this day and age. It happens, sure, it's happened to me to my utter amazement...but in my experience...it's very rare.
Besides...would knowing that any man thought that "woman should be silent" ... change whether or not the woman would in fact be silent? ;)

Something came to mind from a few months ago. I have not experienced this lately, but I do know of some men that can be offended because a woman corrected them publicly. I was just wondering if this ever applied to the board.

I have read with interest the posts of women and often thought, now had I posted that, (no names) would have ripped into me. I've also noticed that women usually won't hesitate to disagree with men - not all, some.
No, I think I have observed that women are generally "given more room" than men are by "most" male posters. There are a few men on the Board who won't, and don't cull anybody that disagrees with them however.
I appreciate your presence here ladies. You know what? There are women who post and we don't even know they are women by their screen names unless they sign their post with a female name. We still can't be sure at times - - remember the boy named "Sue?" :D
A friend - Jim
P.S. TheOliveBranch doesn't sound female or male and you don't usually sign your posts. Wisdom Seeker on the other hand, has posted her picture leaving little doubt as to gender - or - either WS is a pretty boy!

I believe the book of Psalms quotes the olive branch as a mother with her children sitting around the table. Most likely feminine, as I am such. I don't have my picture posted, for a few reasons.
1. I have yet to find a picture that I can stand to look at.
2. I want to see my member status change when I reach the alloted goal.
3. I don't want to scare anyone. Wisdom has a smile that only one can envy. I have the dimples, but that's about it. -
Women in general are not going to be taken as seriously as men, and will not be as likely to be engaged in an intense discussion because men still are pretty kewl and don't want to offend for the most part, apart from the few who just don't think they're qualified.
That's not the BB, that's life. To be honest, I've found the BB to be suprisingly different from most forums in how the men treat the women, and that is a good thing.
On another forum I joined I showed slight disagreement with a male and had my membership questioned. Upon apology and acknowledgment of wrongdoing the owner forgave me and allowed me to stay, subsequently starting a forum for recipe exchanges. It was a nice gesture, but I think I almost choked laughing.
On others I've resorted to posting under a male name when I feel the need to get some real opinions from men.
On this board I just ask, and for the most part I've not noticed much of a difference in the replies a man would give me over a woman, save a few.
Absolutely amazing on a Baptist board with the number of different personalities involved!

If I didn't listen to my wife, she would withhold my fifty cent a day allowance......Then what would I do for m coffee break with the men?
Cheers,
Jim
PS. It is always a delight to have a female opinion on different subjects. They often comprise 65 per cent of the church. -
Yes, SOMEBODY has to cook all that food! ;)
I noticed at potlucks the women always bring homemade foods, and the single men in the church run by Kentucky Fried Chicken on the way in.
Then again, who knows for sure? I remember one woman winning the pie contest, only to admit that she never thought she'd win and just wanted to look like she baked, so she bought the pie at a store and stuck it in one of her baking pans.

If a man has a problem with womwn on the BB, he is more than welcome to restrict his posts to the mens only forum.

I have never had a problem with other women posting!
My problem is getting that password to the private forum for men.
They need me in there!
All that wrestling and yelling! I tell you! Sometimes they toss so hard on the walls, it knocks the lamp right off the stand in the lobby of the womens forum.
Why its a wonder they ever survive come'n out of there.

I KNEW I should have posted the Mickey Mouse one!
I did send in a turtle, but webmaster said I wasn't allowed to post a pic of something cuter than me. That may not be exact wording, but take out two words, add one, and reverse them all twice and you got the exact quote!

How come no one is ever corrigible? One of the great mysteries of the English language. Has anyone ever been capacitated?

The password for the men's private forum is ******. I kid you not. Just check whenever you look at a password for any site. It is always ******.
Cheers, and happy passage,
Jim
PS. I heard that Gina was asking if I ever trimmed my beard and saved the trimmings.....Could it be she wants to clone a beard?

I, for one, can't stand it when women post...
But only when they are right and I am wrong!
Of course, the same could be said for my fellow manly posters.

Refreshed is a MAN?! WHOA. I've only made that mistake a few times.
Perhaps you could make it "Refreshed_Dude"? ;)
