Considering women leaving their God ordained duties of keepers at home and entering the workplace creating loss of jobs for breadwinners (men), children being raised with gender identification problems, divorce and adultery, etc... has it really been worth it as a whole for our society?
That's a rather narrow description.
It assumes
1.
all working women are "abandoning" their homes
2.
all men would be responsible if women weren't stealing the jobs
3.
women don't need to work
4.
women who work already have men who can provide for them
5.
people can live on a single income
6.
working women are not responsible for their children
So, maybe if you can change your description we'd have a better discussion.
Its been worth just about as much of centuries where men left their role as sacrificial lovers of their wives in preference of treating them as a possession.
OR
The centuries before that where men not only treated their wives as possessions but collected them like jewels only with no respect for their value.
Its not JUST women working jobs outside the home that is causing the problem.
It is men and women both who have left the pattern God created for marriage that is the problem.
Hmmm - I work outside of the home and have not abandoned being the keeper at home as well.
I homeschool my children, am responsible for the vast majority of the child raising and domestic duties at home and I also happen to assist my husband in his ministry by bringing in extra money so we can afford to live.
Working outside of the home is not anti-biblical since we see the "ideal woman" of Proverbs 31 was a work at and out of the home mom AND she had servants.
Our servants today are machines (washing machine, dishwasher, crockpot, etc.) so that is helpful but we still do all the jobs that the Proverbs 31 woman did too.
No where does it say in the Scriptures that a woman's place is in the home only.
Nowhere.
Several have used Proverbs 31 in defense of their view but I have a question. Where in that text do you see her working a 9 to 5? Couldn't these things be done from her home? Not trying to sound harsh I am just curious about your use of the text.
On the Titus 2 passage I would just like to point out that all women staying at home is not implied. A case for younger women with kids maybe but not all women.
You have the tail wagging the dog here. You need to start with the Scriptures that delineate the gender roles, then folks are arguing with God, not you.
hard to do when there aren't any that say women can not work out of the home, or that all societys problems can be blamed on women.
on the other hand the bible does tell us that women were mor elowly then, and seems to me solomon collected women, and he wouldn't be the only one. a little history
on this goes a long way as to how wemon have always been treated and viewed.
