World Cup 2006

I was not glad the over-rated, but some how got into the semi-finals, Germans were beaten. German blood runs through my vains and I really wanted to see them win. Basically before the world cup began I said anyone but Italty and France ... any one but them ... please. Now who do you root for? I guess I am a sucker for the underdog so I will go with France. I hope they can score atleast one goal.

Viva Itlia!!!!

I hate to see any game end in penalties, especially a game as big as this, but I am so glad that Zidane and his gang did not win. I guess its the Italian blood in me.

Gutted, empty.

Zidane, in an instant of foolishness, ends a career like this :(

He will forever be remembered now for one stupid classless act.

I hope that South Africa 2010 will be better than 2006.

Zidane has been awarded the World Cup's Golden Ball award, which is for the best player of the tournament. Personally I think he deserved it. It is now alleged the head butting incident was provoked by a rascist remark. Still, he should have kept his cool and dealt with that at the end of the game - a sad way to end his career.

The Award was largely voted on before the headbutting incident, however.

Oh, and Materazzi allegedly called Zidane a terrorist, apparently. Still can't quite see why it led a guy who's been a professional footballer for a good number of years and should have known better (unlike Rooney who's young, immature and stupid), particularly in his last ever game, to react like that...(?)

headbutt or no headbutt he deserved the award he was by far the best player. I am betting he headbutted the guy because he got tired of hearing the other team complain. This has been my first year watching the World Cup and I must say just about all the teams are nothing but a bunch of drama queens. That goes double for the Italians ... they had far and away the most queens. The guy that got headbutted stayed on the ground to make sure he milked it for all it was worth and so the ref saw what happened. Reminds me of Nascarr ... he he he

Cheers ...
