If your church uses worship flags and you know what company/place they buy through, I'd appreciate knowing, no matter what part of the USA you or the company or small business may be in.

What's a "worship flag"?
-
-
That's exactly what I meant annsni, thank you so much!
Everyone can still feel free to post links to sellers as I'm making up a list of providers.
What names do other people know them by, if not by "worship flags?" What do you guys and gals call them? -
Oh - and we've also just gotten the poles and made our own flags as well. :) -
For what its worth the only flag I would use is the Christian and American flags
-
-
Well, in addition to the national flag, the Christian flag and the flags that we use for worship, we also have in our sanctuary a flag from each of the countries where we have a missionary plus the British flag. We had a family from England who teased us mercilessly about not having a British flag and when they went back home, they presented us with one because "now WE'RE your missionaries to England!". Oh - they were a hoot!
-
Christian flag? What's that? I have a vague memory of asking the same thing some years ago, but I can't remember the answer. :tear: -

"Worship/dance" team???
[insult removed] -

I have no objection to displaying either the national flag or the Christian flag in the sanctuary, but I do object to film screens and dancing. The dancing in the Old Testament was far different than modern dancing and it was not done in the temple, but in the outer grounds to display joy. It does nothing in the modern church but draw attention to human skills.
Cheers,

I always enjoy it when a church takes the time to pledge both flags. It's a great reminder of our responsibilities!
John, will you be kind enough to start a debate thread on how you feel about this rather than ruining my request concerning where to purchase worship flags? Your remark is off topic and fails to address the question I asked. -
I always knew them as "Banners" as in His Banner over me is Love...
I *never* expected *this* as a topic on "The Baptist Board" though :D
Used statically a lot in Charismatic Circles with key words and phrases.
Many churches make their own based on where they are at, at the moment in their Worship Journey...
Another word is "Ensign" which has its own special set of meanings...

I can't imagine that Baptists would want to emulate that nonsense. -
No, I am decidedly not comfortable with Ballet Dancers or other Orchestrated Dance in the Sanctuary...
While the ladies are usually dressed more modestly than dancing girls. :)
The dress normally worn for Ballet, IMHO, is not adequate for church.
But, I consder King David a pretty good example when it comes to unbounded Praise and Worship.
2Sa 6:14 And David danced before the LORD with all his might; and David was girded with a linen ephod.
2Sa 6:15 So David and all the house of Israel brought up the ark of the LORD with shouting, and with the sound of the trumpet.
2Sa 6:16 And as the ark of the LORD came into the city of David, Michal Saul's daughter looked through a window, and saw king David leaping and dancing before the LORD; and she despised him in her heart.
2Sa 6:17 And they brought in the ark of the LORD, and set it in his place, in the midst of the tabernacle that David had pitched for it: and David offered burnt offerings and peace offerings before the LORD.
2Sa 6:18 And as soon as David had made an end of offering burnt offerings and peace offerings, he blessed the people in the name of the LORD of hosts.
2Sa 6:19 And he dealt among all the people, even among the whole multitude of Israel, as well to the women as men, to every one a cake of bread, and a good piece of flesh, and a flagon of wine. So all the people departed every one to his house.
2Sa 6:20 Then David returned to bless his household. And Michal the daughter of Saul came out to meet David, and said, How glorious was the king of Israel to day, who uncovered himself to day in the eyes of the handmaids of his servants, as one of the vain fellows shamelessly uncovereth himself!
2Sa 6:21 And David said unto Michal, It was before the LORD, which chose me before thy father, and before all his house, to appoint me ruler over the people of the LORD, over Israel: therefore will I play before the LORD.
2Sa 6:22 And I will yet be more vile than thus, and will be base in mine own sight: and of the maidservants which thou hast spoken of, of them shall I be had in honour.
2Sa 6:23 Therefore Michal the daughter of Saul had no child unto the day of her death.
While some may not feel comfortable with demonstrative Praise and Worship...
I am not so sure that heaping derision or dispising it would be a good idea either?
