The Calvinist version of John 3:16 is:

" God so loved the elect that He gave His only begotten Son; that as a result of being elected you will be regenerated so you can believe with no other option available to you. You will have everlasting life that is imposed on you after your nature is changed you can do nothing else."
Please post the source of that translation and the name of a Calvinist who said it. If you are unable to source the quote, retract it as being untrue.

I don't need to post the source of that translation. It is a result of my conversations with Calvinists over the years. I feel Calvinists do not handle that passage honestly and what posted is what Calvinists would translate that passage if they were honest. Calvinists do not believe God loves the world only the elect.

Of course when Calvinists, including yourself, present a caricature of the opposing view to your own you do not have a problem with it. This is how I see Calvinism. You don't like it. Tuff. You need to deal with your won inconsistency on this.

Actually, Calvinists believe that God loves even those not saved, but that he has a peculiar love towards those who are His elect, as have a relationship with them!

The hate would be defined as the Bible does, as God "hated" esau, in the sense did not Choose Him to be the heir and part of the Covenant He made with Israel.

That is not what is says about Essau but I digress. Anyway what I wrote about the Calvinist view of love in John 3:16 stands true.

I do think that all see this in same way though!
Love and hate refers to those who are in and not in the Covenant relationship with God!

Which by the way is no different than the thread title "Why do men hate God's sovereignty in election". It is the exact same thing.

Where does that thread title refer to Arminians, Pelagians, or Semi-Pelagians, or any other group represented on the Baptist Board?

And if you don't like the thread, did you report it? If you won't report the thread and allow the Admin Council to do their job, you have no right to complain about the thread.

Who else has full free will? Whose will can cancel or equal that of the Lord?
Free will...does not exist.......we have self will...but it is never free....

Is God free to sin?Can His Holy Nature allow such sin to take place?

God cannot due anything against His nature/attributes, so cannot lie, nor creat something too heavy to lift!

God shows mercy to some, and He has passes over the rest.
There's more to it!!

God shows mercy to some, and the rest receive His justice.
No one receives injustice.
