I believe Scripture teaches against abortion, therefore I support my church in its my name stories to prevent abortion.
The GOP platform is anti-abortion. So is the RCC platform, the Mormon platform, and the Jehovah Witness platform.
I am content with Christ, so I do not need to support those other groups.
Would you vote for John James?

I am saying nobody has a right to demand that I participate in worldly powers. -
-
What about the Trump justices on SCOTUS finally tipping the law? -
The GOP and the DNC are two sides of the same coin. The difference is the GOP is a wolf in sheep's clothing while the DNC wears it's immorality on the surface. -
Nobody is tipping the law. An advancement would be making abortion illegal. Reversing Toe vs Wade is pretty benign, just a political victory that most likely will not save one child.
But it allows the wolf (the GOP) to look good to the sheep who follow them. -
I'll just wrap up the vote or abstain from voting thing so we can get back on topic.
If your conscience demands you vote, then vote. If your conscience demands you abstain from voting, then abstain.
If your conscience allowed you to serve in the military then serve, if you like. But if not, then don't.
Either way it is not up to you to encourage another Christian, as long as that Christian is obedient to Christ, to commit the sin of acting against his or her conscience. -
We live in a country and a world where there is much evil - I believe that as Christians
we have a responsibility to help our country. I will say that for some people joining the
military might be a poor decision. But I found when I first joined in 1970 that many of the
lifers were initially draftees. Most of them probably would not have joined on their own. But
after getting in, they found it was a good decision.
Like wise the same goes for voting - I believe we have a responsibility to vote. Again, we are part of
this world and this country and we need to participate as Christians. Not only voting - but being involved
with your political party. By doing so - you can influence your Christian standards in your candidates.
You can help be part of passing laws.
In addition, I have met many people
What an opportunity we are missing when we are not involved.
AS far as voting for a 3rd party - some say that by doing so will keep the better candidate from winning.
Well that candidate should consider the issues and encourage those possible 3rd party voters to vote for
the better candidate.
At least in New York State, with the Fusion ballot - 3rd parties can actually help. -

I am a big states rights advocate. But not with this one. Abortion needs to be illegal at a federal level. It is not difficult today to travel from Georgia to North Carolina. -
The reason I say this is it would be wrong for a Christian who believes voting is wrong to participate in secular politics br voting. It would be wrong for a Christian who believes it is wrong to serve in the military to join the military. In each case the person would be sinning.
When we do what we are convicted is sinful then we sin, regardless of whether it would be sinful for another.
When we encourage other Christians to act against their conscience in these issues we are disobedient by encouraging a brother to sin. -
probably because that is what they have been taught.
It often is easy to convince someone to take on a new belief (ie Death penalty, abortion, war, ect)
The situation is often many people do not look at all 3 sides of an issues.
Its easy to make one statement and people just accept it.
For example- Recently Sen Schumer (NY) stated that if the MAGA R's get their way - no one will be able to get an abortion
in the USA. But he did not mention that many States/Commonwealths will still offer abortion.
At least 20 States/Commonwealths would have full access well several more would only have restrictions.
Map: 23 states would ban abortion in a post-Roe America
Going back to the military Alvin York did not believe in killing people - but after several lengthy discussion with his commanders, he ended up being awarded the Medal Of Honor - in part for killing a large number of the enemy. -
When Paul spoke about eating meat or drinking wine sacrificed to idols he left that as a matter of conviction, encouraging one another to support those who could not eat or drink with a clear conscious.
I was not raised to abstain from voting. I voted all of my life. The past two elections I resisted a leaning to abstain and voted for Trump. But more and more my convictions grew.
The reason why I do not vote is biblical. But at the same time, people can vote for biblical reasons.
Christians should act in accordance with how God is leading them. And they should allow others to do so as well. -

The GOP has controlled the Presidency, the Senate, Congress and has had most of the appointed SCOTUS judges before. -
-
But passing a constitutional Amendment - either to make abortion a constitutional right
or to give a conceived child the right to life - well, neither has much of a chance to pass.
It is unlikely to pass the Congress - 2/3 approval - (76/100 Senators 290/435 Congressmen) - and then must
be passed by 3/4 of the States/Commonwealths (38/50). And now, there is usually a seven year
time limit - with all that - I do not see that happening! Note: the POTUS is not part of passing a
Constitutional Amendment. (Article V) -
That said, it would not bother me to have a DOD job (except I don't want one).
I also pay taxes (which involves the government). I installed solar panels ($0 power bills and the government paid over half of the cost of the panels).
I do not believe an employee has the right thing dictate how an employer does business.....remember? (That was one of our disagreements).
