Just looking over your site and it is interesting.
I believe the difference between saved and lost is that one is covered by grace and one is not.
I back that up with Acts15:11
and Romans3:24
I believe that this grace must be accessed by faith.Romans5:2
I believe we must exercise our faith by accepting Jesus as Lord and confessing his name publicly.Romans10:9
I believe repentence is inferred.Luke13:3
I believe we must be baptised and the bible examples are immersion in water.I believe all this combined will cover us with the grace of God.
Are we close to believing the same things? This is just to let you know where I am coming from.
May God bless you all,Charles

Welcome Charles.
Just two points for you to clarify please.
<BLOCKQUOTE>quote:</font><HR> I believe repentence is inferred.Luke13:3

So If I believe that Jesus died for my sins I automaticly have repented?

If I am not baptised then I'm not saved? -
Good questions. I am moving this topic to Baptist Theology, since that is where these questions belong. I will lock and leave this thread - go to the other site to continue this fine discussion.

New believer,
Thanks for the reply.I'm kind of simple minded and old on top of it,so don't expect any spectacular responses.
I like your idea of repentance. My thoughts are on the same line(Change your life to the will of Jesus).
About baptism, this subject will forever be a source of disagreement,I suppose. My personal thoughts on what the bible says about salvation is that it is a done deal.God established it by grace through the death, burial and resurrection of our Lord(1Cor15:3).The only cleansing agent for sin is the blood of Jesus(gospel)1Cor15:1-4.The bible says it is the first important thing we need to know.
Salvation is an act of God and God alone in my understanding of the bible....But to access this blood we have to exercise our faith and of course baptism is one of those actions.....but only to receive salvation not to create it.We take pride in the cross not something we have done.Sorry for the long post,I'm new here.
God bless,Charles -
You seem to misunderstand me charles.
I do not believe that we automaticly repent when we believe in the Lord Jesus Christ. I was simply paraphrasing what it seemed you were saying.
I believe we must repent of our sins if we are turely saved. Defination of Repent from The American Heritage Dictionary is To feel remorse or self-reproach for what one has done or failed to do: to be contrite. Once I accepted Jesus as my Savior then I repented because I loved Him and felt the sense of remorse for my past actions.
I am still unclear if you believe that baptism is necessary for salvation. I believe that it is not. Baptism is an act of obedience to Gods Word, and is an public display of that obedience. If baptism is necessary to salvation then what about the person who accepts God on his deathbed, or if hit by a truck on his way to his baptism? -
New believer,
Sure thats what repentance is.Changing our sinful nature to the will of Jesus.I agree.Bless you for doing that.
You are also right about baptism. It has no power for salvation. The only cleansing agent for sin is the death, burial and resurrection of our Lord.1Peter3:21 says this is the way baptism saves us.All the power is in the blood.
Why is baptism necessary?Because it is commanded. It is through faith that we access the grace of God.Romans5:2
Salvation is an act of God.Faith is an act of man.No faith,no salvation. There are somethings we can do on our own but salvation, never. But we (can) obey what the bible asks us to do in order to receive the free gift.
I love your spirit, thanks for the reply.
God bless,Charles -
Thanks for the clarification. It seems that we are more or less on the same wavelength.
