Questions of Geneva Bible use.
I am not certain this is the forum for this discussion. I wanted some incite from Biblical scholars on their own views on the Geneva (or Breeches) Bible.
1) Does anyone rely upon the Geneva Bible for their final authority and bible study?
2) The Separatists and Puritans used the Geneva Bible exclusively and refused to have a KJV even if given one. Why then is the KJV the standard bearing (and most trashed) of all versions?
3) Some would view the only reason King James desired to... -

How would you define "following God"?
If you were to give counsel to a believer as to how one should follow God, what would you have on your "to do" list that would qualify a believer for such a testimony as this one given by God Himself to David?
".................... he raised up unto them David to be their king; to whom also he gave testimony, and said, I have found David the [son] of Jesse, a man after mine own heart, which shall fulfil all my will." (Acts 13:22)
A few things to remember of David's recorded life found... -

How can we be truly saved?
Never ending debates about salvation are going on in every christian discussion board around the world wide web and there seems to be no definite and concrete way arrived at by the participants. Is there really a definitive teaching from God or Jesus that we can cite for us brothers and sisters to agree on totally? -
Cremation or Burial. Which Will You Choose?
This is nothing more, and nothing less than a simple poll. Discussion is optional. I am trying to see what choice of end time arrangements the majority of my Baptist family will choose, and I would appreciate your taking the poll, and giving a reason as to why you are choosing one over the other.

God's creative Command - the Gospel
The gospel is "the power of God" as it is His Creative Command when He saves a person. When God saves a person, the gospel does not come in "word only" but "IN POWER and IN THE SPIRIT" (1 Thes. 1:4-5):
4 Knowing, brethren beloved, your election of God. 5 For our gospel came not unto you in word only, but also in power, and in the Holy Ghost, and in much assurance; as ye know what manner of men we were among you for your sake.

Deacon qualifications
Our annual deacon letter just went out. Some of us were talking about the qualifications that is set forth in Acts 6:1-6 and 1 Timothy 3:1-13. There were several comments made about the list of qualifications that are laid out in Timothy.
The main question that came up was divorce. While 1 Timothy 3:2 says that they are to be "husband of but one wife", what was meant by that. Was this a statement of the times as common practice of that era was multiple wifes or did it mean that they are...
