The soul is NOT the Body - Mt. 10:28

One primary problem with Christian cults is that they define human nature on the same level as animal life. They see no constituent distinctions between animals and humans in regard to their constituent nature. They interpret "soul" to either be equal to "life" or "body" and they interpret "spirit" to be equal to "air" or "breath." They interpret the "image" of God to either be something visible or a higher degree of mental function due to the physical make up of the mind.

    Hence, they...

    Who Should Get American Gas?

With cost for gasoline soaring to heights not known before, you need to read the attached article, as America is reaching the kind of exports in gasoline products that it hasn't seen in 60 years.

SEE:In a first, gas and other fuels are top U.S. export

With this bit of good trade news now tucked away in your mind, which would you rather have, as an American consumer (see...

    Beer Drinking In Germany

This week I listened to Dr. Erwin Lutzer answer a question on his broadcast from a person interested in discussing alcohol consumption. The question had details about her church which has some problems with their statement of faith and constitution/new members agreement as far as new members agreeing to not use alcohol in any form at any time, or they cannot join the church (in good conscience at least). The pastor of this church believes alcohol use is permissable, as long as people aren't...

Was it God's will for Adam to Sin ?

Was it Gods will and intention for Adam to bring sin into the world : For Rom 5:12 reads:

12Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned:

Yes indeed it was God's will for Adam to sin. For the purpose of creation of the world was all for Christ..

    Col 1:16

16For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or...

    We Are Not Charged With...

According to the mandate of the Great Commission, the Christian Community is NOT charged with "saving" the world..., so why are so many trying to do just that? Christians have been charged with spreading the Gospel. To tell everyone of Jesus.

Why then do churches and out-reach efforts begin with an attitude of trying to convert these folks?

No wonder we turn so many people off.

Last night our Pastor spoke about God's plan. He went into as much detail as the allotted time would...

    Soul and Spirit

I have heard so many different explanations for what others say the soul and the spirit are. It really is so simple. Our mind, our feelings, our conscious, that is our spirit. If anyone gets a modern English version Bible, such as the NIV, you can easily see that whenever the bible talks about our soul, it is at that time concerned with our living body (our physical living body with its spirit). Whenever the bible talks about our spirit, it is concentrating on our spirit, our spirit...

    OSAS1, OSAS2, or OSAS3

There are a couple of threads on here where the OSAS believers are trying to give the retionale for believing in OSAS. It would be helpful if they would tell us which OSAS they are promoting. I started this new thread so as not to hyjack another thread.

OSAS1 - The 5-Point Calvinist belief in OSAS, sometimes called Perservence of the Saints. This belief is connected to Unconditional Election/ Irresistable Grace as its basis for OSAS or perservence.

    OSAS2 - This belief says a True...

    What is Sin?

We have been over this question in the past, but the same questions keep arising. One thing we hear people suggesting is that if one has an evil thought, it is sin. Where did they get such a notion is this? Where does Scripture state or imply that every thought with evil connotations is in fact sin? What we're looking for is Scriptural passages that would back up the above notions. Give us your scriptural definition of sin.

    The SBC and Calvinism

How much has Calvinism infiltrated the SBC? I haven't been a regular attender at an SBC church for a long time, just an occasional visitor. But I'm thinking of returning on a regular basis. I still have membership in a SBC church, although I am also a member of the CBF, which only requires a $1 per year contribution from an individual to be a member! :)

Anyway, this veil of tears is gloomy enough without having that added to by a Calvinist assault every Sunday.
