Preaching Bible
Okay, brothers (and a few sisters :laugh here's the deal:
I have always preached from the KJV of the Scriptures. I believe that the high English elevates Scripture to a place of grandeur and majesty that it rightly deserves. But I am contemplating changing and just want your thoughts/opinions, and especially anyone here's experience with doing the same. So let me share a few (hopefully brief) thoughts-
1. One of the primary reasons I am considering a switch is because of the... -
prenuptial agreement
Do you believe that God supports (intended) prenuptial agreements in marriage based on scripture? Why? -
Flesch-Kincaid readability scale
Lily of the Valley in another thread asked about SS material for young children - but insisted it had to be KJV.
As usual the thread turned into a KJO discussion.
I did want to respond - but did not want to go off OP, thus this thread.
From the other thread
What do you care that I asked why 2 and 3 year olds required 12 grade level reading?...
Incidentally the Flesch-Kincaid readability scale does not consider the kjv "12-grade level." ...
HoS, I clicked on the link for F-K... -
Five questions??
I have asked these questions in TWO different threads, and no one has yet to respond to them, so I have decided to start a thread so that we can concentrate on them all by themselves(I may regret this, btw :laugh.
Will y'all be so kind to reply, and replying in a civil manner?
1.) Adam and Eve were both spiritually dead when God searched them out in the Garden, correct? How were they able to commune with Him in their "dead in sins and trespasses" state? Remember, God drove them from... -
Dinosaurs on the Ark
Today Ken Ham had a interesting thing to say in his podcast about the Dinosaurs. According to him they were on the Ark (small ones at least) but after the ark they could not survive in the new climate of the earth. Why did the climate of the earth change after the flood? Some have said that were was more land mass and less of a sea in the pre-flood world. What do you say? There always was a sea, but perhaps much smaller at one time. -
Medication vs 'Self" medicating
Let's try again. This time, folks, keep it within the parameters of Godliness!!!!!
Here is the problem.
There are some who would actually instruct and (if in their authority) prohibit medications that are prescribed by a medical professional and NOT addictive for certain difficulties.
The medications for ADD, ADHD, OCD (obsessive-compulsive disorder), OPD (oppositional personality disorder), Tourette Syndrome, epilepsy, and autism can (depending on the type prescribed) be... -
I Killed My Old Man!
Romans 6:6
King James Version (KJV)
6 Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin. -
Genesis 1 "Let Us"
26 Then God said, “Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness; let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over the cattle, over all the earth and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth.”
I was listening to a speach, well more of a sermon, about Genesis 1 when it is said "Let Us make man in OUR image, according to OUR likeness," and what it meant.
Just wanted to see what everyone thought. As the person given the lecture... -
The eternal God is thy refuge
Deut 33:27
The eternal God is thy refuge, and underneath are the everlasting arms: and he shall thrust out the enemy from before thee; and shall say, Destroy them.
God is outside of Time, for He is Eternal and scripture says that He inhabits Eternity Isa 57:15
For thus saith the high and lofty One that inhabiteth eternity, whose name is Holy; I dwell in the high and holy place, with him also that is of a contrite and humble spirit, to revive the spirit of the humble, and to revive... -
Are the majority of IFB churches KJV0 or KJVP

Van's translation of the posters remarks= Yes we prefer the the KJV over and against the NKJV.
2. Do they assert God fulfilled the promise of Psalm 12:6-7 with the KJV?
How does God fulfilling His...
