Reconciling Paul, Hebrews and James
Romans 2:4-5. 'Now to him who works, the wages are not counted as grace but as debt. But to him who does not work but believes on Him who justifies the ungodly, his faith is counted as righteousness.'
Ephesians 2:8-9. 'For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God, not of works lest anyone should boast.'
James 2:24. 'You se then that a man is justified by works and not by faith only.......For as the body without the spirit is dead, so... -
God's Providence and Bible Translation
I think that one of the least understood and taught doctrines is the providence of God. I want to explore how that works in Bible translation efforts, using my own experience in translating the Bible into Greek for illustration.
Providence differs from the miraculous in that it is a process, whereas a miracle is an event. As I have said before on the BB, a miracle is instantaneous. Providence, however, may take a great deal of time, such as when God used Alexander te Great to spread the... -
Do I have to quote the Bible when sharing the gospel?
Can one be saved when believing the gospel even if they don't hear a Bible verse?
I wrote a piece which I wish I could call a homily, sharing the gospel with certain particulars, and not quoting the Bible once.
If those who read it do not hear a Bible verse, will they remain being lost? -
Mama has passed away.
It's been a hard day. Mama passed at 5:00 this morning.
She died sleeping peacefully. I praise God for his mercies. Mama is with Christ and my father who died suddenely three years ago.
I am more exhausted than anyone could know. I thank you for the prayers you gave. -
Vessels of Mercy !
When are the Vessels of Mercy made so ?
Rom 9:21-23
21 Hath not the potter power over the clay, of the same lump to make one vessel unto honour, and another unto dishonour?
22 What if God, willing to shew his wrath, and to make his power known, endured with much longsuffering the vessels of wrath fitted to destruction:
23 And that he might make known the riches of his glory on the vessels of mercy, which he had afore prepared unto glory, -
A Book Review: Born Fundamentalist - Born Again Catholic.
A book recommended by our forum brother @Walter
Respectfully unless you have this book please keep comments and opinions to only what is said by us in the thread
I am in the process of reading the book.
My comment on the title.
Born Fundamentalist. For starters no one is born a Christian. And one born to a Christian family can be raised to be Fundamentalist.
Without question the author learned fundamentalist anti-Catholic and evangelical bias. Apparently In the chapter "The Beginning"... -
Is there any other way to read this verse?
Here a verse in Acts that signifies how Gentile believers attained eternal life.
Is there any other way then that presented?
How then is there argument concerning “corporate election” and salvation.
If one is already appointed or chosen prior to belief, then there can be no “corporate election.”
Or are all these translations in error?
New International Version
When the Gentiles heard this, they were glad and honored the word of the Lord; and all who were appointed for eternal life... -

They SHOULD have been getting all of those thing. Many weren't. Much of the church is not what it's supposed to be.

Rockytopva at 3 Million
Well… My web site at YouTube.com/rockytopva has went over 3 million views:
https://www.youtube.com/c/rockytopva/about
I at first was posting TV ministers until they filed copyright infringement against me and I almost took it down. One day I was laying on my bed and I heard a voice speak to me saying, “Upload more RW Schambach.” I did just that and it went well. I find the more one does to encourage faith the better a video does.
