More on Gun Ammo shortage

JC just who are "These people"? I have never heard of anyone who thinks the solution to all problems, or for that matter even most problems, is gun ownership,. Maybe gun owners should be treated as the lepers were in Israel during the time of Christ? Or maybe we should be viewed as a sub-human species to be treated like the Jews in Hitler's Germany? Not accusing anyone, just wondering.

These people are good Americans that vision a bloody anarcy in the streets. You should be a little worried about what we see brewing up and be prepared for some type of defence. I know GOD will take care of his people, but if you remember the Aposals came and told JESUS that even the Devils were subject to them. Jesus then told then the next time you go out, arm yourselves with swords. I think it was worded that way. Not paying any attention by what you see is likened to putting a Frog in a kettle of cold water and turn the heating eye on. The Frog will stay in the kettle and does not feel the water getting warmer until it get hot enough to cook him.
Take heed and watch.

Just who on this Forum is advocating armed rebellion against the lawful government of the United States? I do recall some leftists nuts advocating the murder of Vice president Cheney and his family. Does that qualify?

Who advocated the murder of Cheney. Please give me thread and post number or quit making such outrageous charges. I believe that Cheney and many other members of the Bush administration including Bush himself should be brought to trial but in the United States that doesn't count as murder. Now, thread and post #?

Why should anyone respond to your challenge, or take back anything you view as untruthful, when you refuse to take anything you have ever said, and leave so many challenges unanswered ?

Physician, heal thyself.

Unless you can show where this happens, sorry I do not believe you. If that was indeed done, the person is guilty of a federal crime.

I don't believe the question was directed to you now was it?

>You may wish you had one some day, JC. Especially when the Revolution hits the streets.

Who do you propose should be shot? The people we just elected to Congress?

Exactly whom do YOU intend to shoot?

Here are a couple of quotes from the BB within the last week, that at worst advocates such, at best flirts with the idea.

"A gun is pretty useless against tyrrany without ammo."

"I am not going to debate about the American Revolution in this thread. But the parallels between what this Administration is doing and the events leading to the American Revolution are quite astounding if you look at it from the eyes of history."

#1----I scanned through the pages of this thead and find noone "advocated" anything that remotely points to the former VP!! I believe the comment, JC, was taken from another source outside of this forum.

#2----on what charges should the former President George (Dub-ya) Bush be tried and how are you gonna slip past the Secret Service to "slap the cuffs" on 'im?????

Perhaps the little old lady is planning to give them away for birthday presents. Around here we give ammo for birthdays and Christmas.

A.F.

My birthday is later this month. I'll take a box of 130 gr. Remington Core-Lokt in .270.

Reloading would be a fun hobby for me, too----there's a fella in my church who reloads-------and he tells me its done gotten expensive, just like buying them off the shelf has
.....

Oh no! I didn't stock up before the price of reloading supplies went up.

I reload my .45 ammo because factory loads are just too "hot". I reload with a moderate amount of powder. I find that better for target practice.

My big question is

What in "Tarnation" does any elderly "Hen" needs with 5000 rounds of .22's

Lots of snakes in the yard??

Rats??

Vermin in the Dairy Parlor

How about dispatching pen raised rabbits, goats, sheep, or hogs?

I have a little .22 semi-auto rifle---------and 2 years ago I bought a box of 500 bullets------thats been two years ago and I'm not finished with that box

Like others have mentioned, we may go through a box or two every shooting session. If granny had 5000 rounds of .22 on the shelf, our clan would shoot half of it at the Fourth of July picnic.

"Ammo is goin' up!"

Yes, it is. 22LR has gone up 50% in the past 12 months. The last time I bought 12 gauge dove loads, I paid less than $5 per box. Those are up about 50% as well. I have other calibers (military surplus) that have more than tripled in the last 24 months. I wish I could say that about my other investments...

So we rush out to Academy or Wally World and "stock up"-----stock up----for what???? What do people want to stock up on bullets for???

See above for some uses. Also, hunting wild game such as squirrels, rabbits, dove, and (heaven forbid) opposum or pigeons, if necessary. I can feed my family with a .22 rifle and a 12 gauge.

I realize I may be in a different social stata, but 5000 rounds is not unreasonable in such a small caliber.

Being aware of what is brewing and inevitable is not the same as advocating such and you have made quite a leap in your assumption about my posts.

You must be unaware of the Tea Parties that are forming throughout the country and unaware of the rage that the average tax payer is feeling as big government takes away individual rights and tramples on the Constitution.

You and I disagree on what the meaning of tyrrany is, so there is no point in engaging in a discussion with you about the topic. But if you want to discuss tyrrany and where this country is headed, please start a thread.

Right now, this thread is about ammo and why people are stocking up, because people sense in their guts from the actions of the new administration and congress in less than 100 days, something dreadful, such as another revolution, is in the wind.

Even if any of the members here would be in favor of overthrowing our present government, surely you can't seriously believe they would post such ideas on the BB or in a heavily traveled site such as the BB, unless you think they are brain dead. Sheesh!

Words are powerful tools used to spread ideas, and can't be taken back. So maybe it is wise to watch your wording when flying off against our president and our government. Making claims like "A gun is pretty useless against tyranny without ammo." while at the same time calling Obama a tyrant and shouting about the lack of ammo doesn't sound like just trying to be aware or making others aware of what is going on. No, It sounds like just as it is stated, advocating the use of guns against our president. That may not not be your intentions, but regardless I am commenting on how it sounds, and how it comes across. I stand by my observation of how it sounds "that at worst advocates such, at best flirts with the idea". I am sure you probably don't really mean this, but rather are just a lot of talk. However the dangerous thing is that this is an open forum heavily trafficked to the public as you state. Who knows what Timothy McVeigh types of nut jobs there are out there reading this. I personally don't want to belong to a site that even hints around about things like that, and I doubt many other members would either. So maybe it would be wise to dial it down a notch especially as a moderator that represents this site. Above all else regardless of our politics we should be Christ like and always an example to the world.
