Love Michael Jackson or hate Michael Jackson, I am somewhere in between the two extremes ... I did not pay much attention to him as I had other things to do and think about. Regardless, this one is not going to help the Republicians build their base. There are a whole lot of folk out there, and many of them vote, who really liked Michael Jackson's music. There are many who did not like his music that much, but feel sorry for him and the life he led. Slamming him may make the Congressman feel better, but it was bad politics in attracting new voters. New voters come primarily from young people and those are the folk who will be put off by this fellow's remarks.

    Oh brother.

I guess liberals will only allow disparaging remarks aimed at attractive, pro-life Christian women.

But a guy who admits to sharing his bed with children gets a pass.

And you are part of the problem, CTB.

You jump to conclusions my friend. I did not say I approved of Jackson's actions. I did say this particular politician isn't very smart when it comes to the politicla fallout that could result from his comments.

Michael was only accused of being a pedophile. Sharing your bed with a child doesn't make him guilty.

Now according to Sarah, anyone who makes false statements about her should be taken to court for defamation. How is this different?

By the way, I love your signature line but think you should have added congressman Peter King. He may not be liberal but he sure seems to hate.

What's unfortunate is he is saying what a lot of folks on the right feel but don't have the mic. I don't think hate is limited to a party affiliation. You know, the "real American's" seem to hate also like calling people Muslim's.

See this is the difference between conservative Politicians and liberals...

    A conservative speaks the truth..
    Liberals lie for votes!

Conservatives stand for right no matter the "fallout"
Liberals sway with the latest poll...

When humans stand in Judgment, God isn't going to care what your opinion of MJ is..
But did you stand for right?

If sleeping with another persons children doesn't make you a pedofile neither does sleeping with your neighbors wife make you guilty of adultery?

Don't stop there, continue with the definition of right.

Mt 25:34 Then shall the King say unto them on his right hand, Come, ye blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world:
35 For I was an hungred, and ye gave me meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me drink: I was a stranger, and ye took me in:
36 Naked, and ye clothed me: I was sick, and ye visited me: I was in prison, and ye came unto me.

I don't see anything about did I judge my fellow man???

You're right, cbt, voters hate it when politicians tell the truth.

It is factually correct to say that he was only accused and never convicted. But, it wasn't because he was innocent. It was because he settled cases by paying millions to the families of the boys he molested.

There's no doubt that Michael Jackson was extremely talented. I especially thought he was cool during his "Thriller" days. However, he hung around kids way too much. There's nothing wrong with being charitable & supporting charities that helps children.

I also believe that as a kid Michael was abused by his father, Joe. I was listening to the Schnitt Show & they were playing exerpts of an interview where Michael was talking about verbal abuse from his father. One thing he mentioned was that his father kept telling him how big his nose was & that he didn't get his nose from him. When you keep pumping a child with that kind of talk about his physical appearance, which he has no control over, it messes them up inside. I think that's what led to the physical changes that we've seen over the years.

As relates to the child molestation, Michael only has himself to blame. When you constantly hang are around children all of them time, you are asking for trouble. I believe that the first case that was settled out of court may have been false. If someone molested my child, I don't care how much money they have, I would still insist on pressing charges. If I were Michael Jackson, I wouldn't have offerred any money. I would have said, I'm not guilty of anything & I'm not paying you a dime. Even though 12 people found Michael innocent in a court of law, I believe in the he is guilty in my mind. That trial was a big joke. He was always coming to court late & there were constant outbursts where he would be dancing. The judge threatened to remand him to custody for the duration of the trial, but did no such thing. Whether or not he was truly guilty, we will never know, but God does. If he did those things, he'll be answering to God when stands before Him.

As for the New York politician, I think he was just calling it as he saw it. Everyone has their opinion & he was stating his.

I agree with you ... and it certainly is his right to do so. I was simply saying that politically it was a bad idea and will cost him and other Republicians votes.

No, but it certainly makes him an idiot for doing it...and, see above. Any person with any modicum of sense and judgement wouldn't have done the monumentally stupid things MJ did. I wonder if his mental illness clouded his judgement (in which case I have more sympathy for him)...otherwise, whoooeee, what a buffoon he was.

He wasn't found to be innocent. Just that he wasn't guilty in a court of law. Big difference...and God knows the truth. (Aside: A parent that would allow their kid to be repeatedly placed in that position, as the "victim's" parents did...should be beaten with a large stick)

Wow...I wasn't sure how you were going to inject Sarah Palin into this thread. Nice job.

See, there are three problems with your statement: One, is that you would only make this accusation of "the right." (I guess "the left" doesn't hate)

Two, is that you lambaste people for "judging" Michael Jackson...and then you do the same for an entire group of people that hasn't even been identified, and that you don't personally know.

Three, is that persistent equation that you and others make: Those deemed "right-wing" (whatever the heck that means) are intolerant hatemongers. You don't quantify who...you don't tell how you know...you don't admit there is room to speak out against evil...you just equate.

Well, that's news to me, because I never see your mention of any Democrat hatred...

Intellectual honesty, meet LeBuick. Sorry you guys hadn't met before...

So we are now guilty when we're accused? I can accuse you of anything I want, does that make it true?

There can be a couple of reasons for settling, none of which is an admission of guilt. The problem with our system of justice is that the accused must prove their innocence instead of the accusers having to prove guilt. We say you're innocent until proven guilty, but like your statement proves, you are really guilty from the time you're accused until you can prove your innocence and even then you will still be guilty in some peoples eyes.

Perhaps that is why Jesus told us not to judge each other. Perhaps he knew we couldn't handle that responsibility.

Being an idiot isn't a crime and we couldn't afford the prison's if it were.

You are correct Sir and I stand corrected and apologize. I guess stupidity isn't a prerequisite or limited to one ideological point of view. There has to be at least one in every crowd.

    You a fuuuuny guy.... :applause::laugh:

Jackson may have been talented, but come on, he was not that talented. It's not like he was the most talented person or singer who ever lived!

The media and Jackson fans act and speak as though everyone in the world loved MJ and are devastated by his death. Well, I was never a fan. I heard some of his songs on the radio but I never bought any of his albums. So there are people out here who are not fans.

All this trumped-up stuff over him is just way beyond reasonable. I find it kind of bizarre, in fact.
