God is not in the habit of disciplining the devils children. Heb 12:7,8

Okay...but are not the Devil's children being "disciplined" in like manner as the Church by this drought?

...Or do you figure their part of this is a "curse"?

Judgment or not, it's been pretty rough around here, farmers will be lucky to get much or any second crop of hay. It's raining here now, my gauge reads about 2 1/4" since last night. Thank you Lord!

We still have August and September to make it through.

No, like scripture points out God does not discipline those who are not His. However He may very well us them to discipline the church.

I don't understand the question.

Are you saying that the drought is God's discipline of the church, and that He is using the actions of the unsaved (man-made global warming) to cause it?

If so, and assuming it is some kind of judgement, how is it that you came to this conclusion? Was the drought of 1988 also a time of discipline of the Church? Or the Dustbowl period?

I don't believe in man made global warming http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cdxaxJNs15s . However I do believe that God either bless' His people or removes blessing depending on their faithfulness. I think the Revelation makes that clear.

FAL- Also, if the drought is Our Lord's discipline of the church, why are the Devil's children experiencing the same punishment?

Because He sends rain on the just and the unjust. The opposite should also be true, shouldn't it??

No argument. This is why I'd like to know how FAL figures it's the Church that's essentially the cause of this, that is to say that the cause of the drought is due to discipline of the Church.

The rain falls on the just and unjust.

But you said:

God is not in the habit of disciplining the devils children. Heb 12:7,8

This is why I do not see how the drought is discipline or judgement directed at the Church. It is not targeted at it specifically.

I'd still be interested to hear how you came to the opinion that it is, but at this point I doubt you will oblige.
