Women and African Americans got just what they voted for

Women and minorities. If the post-election breakdown is to be believed, that's who put Obama back in office. African-Americans and females refused to vote for Romney, so the status quo was maintained.

Surely, with the election turning out exactly as they hoped, they're thrilled with today's job numbers.

According to the new data, the overall unemployment rate stayed at 7.8 in December, but jobless numbers for African-Americans and women jumped sharply.

Female unemployment went from 7% to 7.3% while African-American unemployment skyrocketed almost a full point - from 13.2% in November to 14% today.

The news is even worse for young people, aged 18-29. Their overall unemployment rate swelled to 11.5%, while young African-American unemployment is positively staggering at 22.1%

RM is correct - Many groups did make a difference.
Minorities as a whole voted about 80% vote Obama - Blacks up wards to 90%

Single women went abut 67% - women as a whole about 55-45 - which would make married women about 50-50.

Another group would be the Ron Paul cult. For them is was Ron Paul or no-one - and thats exactly what they got - a great big 0!

Religion played a factor. 20% of Born again Evangelicals went for Obama. However overall the more frequent a person attended church - the more likely, he would vote for Romney.

This Election Was Not Political...

...it was personal. Personal for those who are considered people of color [as they wanted a black man in the office]. :tear:

Personal for gays, as they've been promised that their rights will be protected and expanded in the coming term.

Personal for illegal immigrants, as the Dream Act was the foothold in the door for bigger and better things from DC when it comes to circumventing the immigration guidelines to citizenship.

Personal for women, who thought more about birth control than other health issues that matter in a long term way.

Personal for those who believe as Americans, they have been guaranteed certain inalienable entitlements.

If the personal issues were pushed aside, anyone could have replaced Obama as POTUS, because a real thinking American would have clearly seen that the man is noting more than a puppet who mastered the skills of spending money at the pace of a star ship approaching Warp 9 spoeed; campaigning; raising money; and using vacations to spread diplomacy to the places he and his children have visited over the years.

Don't get me wrong. The Obam's are likeable folks. They just don't care about the future of this nation. If they did, we'd not be where we are.

I keep hearing how good things are, but I also see the stark reality of people around me who have been out of work so long they've given up hope. A great president would have instituted a form of the old Comprehensive Employment Training Act, and got America back to work.

A great president would have used some of the borrowed funds from China, to put people back to work repairing the crumbling infrastructure throughout this once great nation. There are more than enough needs in each state to put every unemployed person back to work in some kind of job.

A great president would have divided u the bailout money and sent a check to every American family, which would have resulted in a huge spending spree, that in turn would have got the economy back on its feet within a week of dispersing the checks.

The banks and auto makers would never have needed the bailout money because people could have used the finaicnail windfall of a huge check to buy a new car, pay off their mortgage, etc. It is not a fairy tale, just reality and good sense.

If we'd stop giving away our borrowed money to other countries, we'd be a nation on the rebound, in more than words [spin and hype].

We live in a nation of SELFISH citizens, and this election proved it beyond any doubt. :tear:

The ethnic demographic is swallowed up by gender.

Romney won the male vote. Women (and voter fraud) put Obama in office.

I don't like the tone of this thread and its subtle "blaming" of all women and all males who are not white at the election outcome.

45% of us women did not vote for Obama. Don't lump us all together and say "women are getting what they've asked for", "women put Obama in office", "women care more about birth control than health issues" or "[for women] it isn't about the Constitution, but about how many chickens are in the pot".

That makes my vote for Romney feel unappreciated and makes me feel like you all view all the women the same.

The white vote was down by several million from 2008. The registered voters in general who actually voted was lower than usual. One might conclude that white males could have made the difference if they had just VOTED. But that would be broad brushing because one does not know whom those non-voting white males - who were eligible to vote but didn't - would have voted for.

Please don't discount my vote - my voice - just because I'm only in the 45% of females who didn't want Obama as president.

We would solve many of our nation's problems if we would go back to white, male, landowners as being the only ones allowed to vote. Women should be in the kitchen all of Election Day anyhow preparing snacks for watching the returns come in. Just think, if women were allowed to be pastors, the sermons would never end.

For example if white, male landowners had been the only ones allowed to vote in 1960, Nixon would have won, and we could have had Watergate eight years earlier.

Scarlet, I don't take this thread personal but the stats are true. The majority of blacks and Hispanics who voted, voted for Obama. THIS woman did not vote for Obama, I voted for Romney. What offends me more than the tone of this thread (and I don't detect any specific tone) are the many inferences made on some of these threads that I was going to hell or I was being a tool of Satan to vote for a Mormon. :tear:

I watched Mel Gibson's "The Patriot" yesterday afternoon. When our minds are refreshed at just what was sacrificed by our forefathers for liberty and for this nation, it causes a person's blood to nearly boil to see where America is today.

I agree with you SN, and I'm not kidding. After seeing how ridiculously things have turned after certain people (including women) have gotten the right to vote, I would prefer the old ways. Sometimes the old paths are the best.

To me it is quite simple. Every American citizen has the right to vote once each election. The times we went through excluding women, blacks, non landowners and other groups is nothing short of barbaric.

In church government, it reminds me of elder rule. The average elder is elected based on social standing, not spiritual maturity. When the power to govern the local church is in the hands of a few idiots, disaster follows. Most elders have no more Scriptural knowledge than the average layman that sits in a pew Sunday after Sunday.

"Personal for the women [who voted for Obama] who [seemingly] thought of birth control than other health issues...."​

Not all women who voted for Obama voted that way for based on birth control issues nor welfare issues. Alot did - that's apparent, but not all. In his statement as it is - I am lumped together with those women who are pro-abortion and pro-increased welfare. That's all I am saying that I object to.​

As I tried to explain yesterday to another poster on another issue - [and for absolutely naught] - the "old paths" that you quote are not man-made practices from the "good old days". The old paths from Jeremiah 6:16 go all the way back to "in the beginning". It's the emulation of the One we are made in the image of. It's practicing holiness, righteousness, obedience, and more. It's literally "everlasting paths of continual existence". America's voting patterns and habits do not fall under this description.

The old paths cannot be connected to human voting practices of any era, Bible translations of any era, nor human opinions from any era.
