Very good distinction. The good old days are only good in relation to walking with the Lord. We used to have a more moral society in general and cared more for each other, and basically, were friendlier.

On the other hand, the good old days in relation to man made garbage is just that, garbage. I grew up in Mississippi in the 50s and 60s. I saw things done to black Americans as a society that ought to send people to the depths of hell. The total lack of dignity and respect afforded these folks at the time was a disgrace. One of the instances I can relate is once, when I was about ten years old, I was the only white person on the bus, and there were many empty seats in front of the white line. There was a black lady standing in the aisle with a cane because all the seats behind the white line were taken up. There was a law on the books in Mississippi not allowing a black and white to marry each other. I could relate many, many more instances not suitable for this board. So, the bottom line is, in that regard, those were not the good old days, and personally, I hope those involved all their lives in treating others that way are getting just what they deserve today.

Then let me clarify, Rev. When I read several different posters using the word women without distinction of women who voted for Obama, then I took the meaning to be blanket. That's all.

According to this census from 2011: http://quickfacts.census.gov/qfd/states/00000.html

African Americans make up 13.1% of the population. Whites make up 78.1 percent.

So...out of the 13.1%, take out the kids. Take out those who didn't vote. Was that really enough to turn the election? I don't think so. It doesn't sound right.

I might just hurt my little female brain if I think about this too hard though.

You are right about that! :flower: And we don't get to see each other face to face and that probably compounds any differences perceived.

You are a sweet man. Tell your wife I said so.

What I'm reading says 54% of women voted for Obama and 53% of men voted for Romney.

Then this site says that 53% of all voters were female, while 47% were male: http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-srv/special/politics/2012-exit-polls/national-breakdown/

Men are supposed to be leaders, but too many didn't get off their bums and go vote. They ALLOWED the women to have control of the vote, and you as men should know better than to give a woman that kind of power.

So sorry, but the responsibility still falls on the MALES.
