Interestingly enough, a black man can wear jewelry that represents an organization that says white men are devils. That's not racism at all.

http://nypost.com/2014/04/06/jay-zs-medallion-bears-logo-of-five-percent-radical-group/

Actually that's not racism. The belief that white men are devils is not born out of a belief that Blacks are better than Whites because of their skin color.

Apparently this Jay-Z fella is pretty much a devil worshiper himself.

But let me ask why we're talking about what Blacks do too as though because they do it , it makes it right for Sterling to do it? How about everybody stop?

...Him running that team is the equivalent of a slave master running a plantation. And that seems to be reinforced by new revelations that seem to keep coming forward. ...

Really, I didnt know that slaves made millions of dollars picking cotton.

Look, a lot of people have said things to me that I dont like. I deal with it!

Consider yourself newly informed.

Likewise. But he works for a private company with an international brand. They'd rather not be associated with folks who feel as he does. Thus they are breaking ties.

Contrary to your brand of thinking, if you want to do business with folks, you have to conduct yourself in a certain manner or not do business.

It may seem like an overreaction to non-Blacks, but his tone harkens back to days that White America likes to say to Blacks is long past so they should stop complaining.

Him running that team is the equivalent of a slave master running a plantation. And that seems to be reinforced by new revelations that seem to keep coming forward.

Sounds like the same mentality the plantation slave owners had. Fill the plantation with big, strong, athletic Black men to do the work. I'm not saying it's the case, but it's an amazing coincidence that folks attached that to his not wanting a white player.

You have GOT to be kidding me!!!!!! "the equivalent of a slave master running a plantation"??? In what way? They are free, they make a LOT of money, they run their own lives. Yep - just like a slave on a plantation.

Oh? From the link:

The rationale is that the black man is God and created the universe, and is physically stronger and intellectually stronger and more righteous naturally,” says Michael Muhammad Knight, an author of two books on the radical group.
“Whiteness is weak and wicked and inferior — basically just an errant child who needs to be corrected.”

Funny how if you talk to Black people about racism and you talk to White people about racism , the White people always act so incredulous.

So no, I'm not kidding you. I don't think there's a stretch at all. He's the owner and he wants the big, strong black athletes working on his plantation.

Yep, what he just said
Comparing multimillion dollar athletes to the slaves of 200 years ago is just about the most idiotic liberal spin I've ever seen from you two. It is amazingly ignorant.

Stupidest? I'd have to check.

It isn't about the athletes money, it is about Sterlings mentality, the tapes reveal that he views himself as the great benefactor responsible for any success these players have had. Without him, they wouldn't have anything.

Actually, I'm more offended by his history of racism, than I am over an illegally taped, illegally released audio tape. I'm also pretty offended by the back-biting gossip going on, and the demands that now he lose his team, when he's been fined, in the past, millions of dollars for violating the civil rights of minorities. It's just a way for the self-pious to remain that way.

But the comparison to slavery is laughably dumb, yeah. I'm embarrassed for the both of you.

As am I.

That you have so many that you have to check is in and of itself disturbing, or should be.

Obviously you haven't listened to the tapes, or even bothered to read a transcript of them. The entire conversation is about his gold-digging mistress bringing blacks to the games. He doesn't mention his players. So you can add this one to your "stupid" archive as well.

Not disturbed, though I haven't actually checked, so maybe I will be if I ever do

I have listened to the tapes, that's why I said what I said. TMZ released the first recordings and Deadspin released another five or so minutes, it is in the this second batch where he makes the comments I associate with plantation mindset. Where he talks about how the players wouldn't have houses and cars without him. There is also some weird comments about the difference between black Jews in Israel and white Jews in Israel.

So if you haven't listened to ALL the tapes, it would actually be you that is making the stupid comments.

The illegal taping question has yet to be addressed, at least from what I've read, it will be interesting. I read and heard today that there is supposedly hundreds of hours of these tapes and that Sterling asked this mistress to record things to help him remember. Might be, could be - don't know, but it could explain why she hasn't been arrested or questioned, at least to my knowledge.

He loses his team because the other owners have decided that he is bad for business. The players were fully prepared to walk off the court had Silver not dropped the hammer on Sterling.

As to why it took so long, I have no idea - there was plenty of reason to question his viability as an owner long before all of this came down.

Don't be embarassed for me.

Thank some of you for reinforcing what a lot of Black folks already feel as I said before:

Funny how if you talk to Black people about racism and you talk to White people about racism , the White people always act so incredulous.

The comparison is being made. And one of the reasons, I believe, there is still so much racial tension is because conservative talk radio has convinced a certain segment of the population that there is no validity any more to any claim of racism made by Blacks because they are more racist than anyone. We've already had someone in this thread try to ameliorate the impact of what Sterling said because of what Blacks do when it's irrelevant to the issue at hand.

To some Blacks, Sterlings behavior does parallel that of a slave owner on a plantation. I'm sure they don't expect white people to make that connection because so many Whites don't think that racism is a problem the way it was in the 60s, etc.

Blacks contend that it is and it's just taken on a new undercover identity that simply isn't talked about because it isn't like the in your face discrimination of the Jim Crow era.

So it may be laughably dumb to you and other white people. But to a lot of Blacks, they can clearly see the parallel.

The blacks who see NBA players as slaves are dumb, as well. And no black person I know has come close to making that parallel. Only guilty feeling whites, and the anonymous judgmental, self-pious cyber-phantoms.

I doubt you do much talking to anyone who doesn't share your political or social beliefs so your statement throws out the majority of Blacks.

Only guilty feeling whites, and the anonymous judgmental, self-pious cyber-phantoms.

And they will probably tell you that it's only the old white people who are stuck in the past and the younger ones who suffer from angry white man syndrome who are always incredulous to what they see as obvious.
