The biggest threat of the Coronavirus is the collective advice of amateur infectious disease experts on the Internet. The CDC has provided sound advice on how to respond to the virus: Prevention and Treatment of the Coronavirus. Misinformation causes fear and fear can lead to panic and bad decision making.

As one who resides at the pleasure and preservation of God, I don't view threats of any kind as valid.

Why worry about this body that will soon die, when I should continue to pursue the high calling of God.

However, that also means that one should remain vigilant, with appropriate hygiene, and consuming that which is nutritious.

For what profit does the Kingdom gain, if I abuse myself?

Others and things may certainly attempt to lay burdens upon the body and weary the flesh, but we are told to press on to the high calling of God.

I am reminded of J. Packer's book: Finishing Our Course with Joy

The biggest threat of the virus is that it is a weapon for the evil to use against Trump!!
'Course if there was NO virus, it would probably be a re-hash of RUSSIA, RUSSIA, RUSSIA.:Rolleyes:Rolleyes:Rolleyes:Rolleyes:Rolleyes:Rolleyes:Rolleyes

Sorry but the biggest threat is the far left wing news sources (abc, nbc, cbs, msnbc, cnn, slate, washington times, etc) that are trying to weaponize this to hurt Trump.

Yep, its starting to look more serious than I thought. I'm becoming concerned about the geriatric population and the immune system compromised people. I'm hearing 15% will die (note: 10 deaths in Washington), so far, and a good possibility of it being a much higher %, 20% or more of nursing home patients that could be dying.

We have 1 1/2 million nursing home patients in the U.S.A. and that comes out to a possible 225,000 of our dear elderly, or higher if this becomes wide spread. Then there are cancer patients on chemo (650, 000 at high risk) and people on autoimmune system meds (potentially 23,500,000) that are also at much higher risk.

People with respiratory illnesses over 60 are also at higher risk.

This disease spreads much easier that than the flu. Where 1 person might spread the flu to 9 people, 1 person with Covid-19 would spread it to to 45.

The flu is typically 0.1 death rate but the Covid-19 is current running at 3.4% according to the WHO.

Thank God the children are at lower risk!

I pray this thing doesn't become wide spread...

Fox News has been reporting that the Corona death rate in China is in decline.

I hope so, it sure did a job on the nursing home residents in Washington. Not sure I can trust any info coming from China...

I live 40 miles from that nursing home.
In any event, we should take note and thank God if He shows mercy.

Of course, it's hard to trust the Chinese government on anything.

That being said, China also instituted very Draconian measures in an attempt to contain the spread of the virus. Had they not done so, the outbreak likely would be far worse in China.

In Western democracies, particularly in a nation like the United States, the government isn't in the sort of position to take such extreme measures. I don't think we will be able to keep a lid on this thing.

It's not always about the Democrats or about Republicans or about the media, etc.

None of these groups put the entire nation of Italy on lockdown. This threat is real.

Will the average person be at risk of dying? Probably not. But will there be a major disruption of the world economy, including the economy of the United States? Probably.

MUCH worse happened under president Obama watch, as we had 12,000 die of Swine flu before he got officially involved, but the Media did their best to make sure that nothing bad was reported!
Contrast with how media treats trump, as 27 have died so far, and they make it sound like walking dead outbreak!

“Though the fig tree does not bud
and there are no grapes on the vines,
    though the olive crop fails
and the fields produce no food,
though there are no sheep in the pen
and no cattle in the stalls,
yet I will rejoice in the Lord,
I will be joyful in God my Savior

I still think misinformation is a serious problem. It leads people to do stupid things. Am I concerned about the virus? Absolutely. When I see the Walmart near my home in Central Florida empty of anything related to personal hygiene, I grieve. My own mother up North has become a shut-in out of fear. I may have to go up there to make sure she is OK. The price gougers are preying upon fear and panic. $50 for 6 ounces of hand sanitizer? Really?!

No, I’m going to go ahead and say the virus that is enveloping the world and has already disrupted our way of life in an unprecedented way is the bigger threat. Glad I know what your priorities are though. Maybe table the partisan garbage for five minutes.

Try using 90% rubbing alcohol - I believe it's cheaper.
