Also, if anyone does not think that collapsing the economy in the United States and the rest of the world will not result in way more deaths than the flu or COVID-19, then please read some history while you are self-isolating. This is not a one front “war”.

So Ken, what do you want for everyone in the NYC Metro area to go back to work? So we will all ride jam packed busses, subways and trains to be packed in like sardines to be deposited in Penn or Grand Central then hit the streets chock filled like other robots to go up packed escalators, elevators, cross town busses and subways to our destinations filled with lobby rats waiting in lines to board overcrowded elevators to the 36th floor and then cubicle life for 8 to 12 hours. Yea right! :Sneaky

New York is not the universe of the United States. How long would you like the collapse to endure? Until Dr Falsey tells us? He already said it could go on for years..........Some surprising revelations going on with this. You, who have based everything, all the time, on how stuff affects you financially.......have suddenly gone with the EMOTIONAL response. Cut to the chase, I always say.

Everywhere in the U.S. is not New York City or other large cities.

This single-minded focus that we should pay any price to stop COVID-19 so there are no new cases or no deaths is beyond the pale.

Let’s look at what a future history book might contain about the year 2020 in the United States if the “COVID-19 must be our only focus” crowd hold sway:

“In the year 2020, the United States adopted a single focus mindset to do whatever was necessary to stop COVID-19. By doing so, deaths were held down to 30,000 during 2020. The resulting collapse of the U.S. and world economies, which caused such chaos that sanitation, water works, food production and distribution, as well as pretty much all facets of modern life came crashing down, resulted in 50 million deaths in the U.S. alone. However, the U.S. met its goal of holding down the number of COVID-19 deaths.”

Like I said, it is not a single front “war”.

Ok then, go back to work... but not here, it guarantees diseases will be spread... so go do your duty to all concerned and if you get a disease you are on your own.

I was put out to pasture on January 31, 2017.

The economy has to start being reopened come May 1. There is no other realistic choice without potentially making the “cure” worse than the disease. It doesn’t have to be flung wide open on May 1, but the process needs to start.

I don’t see how what you wrote has anything to do with fighting this two front “war”.

Also, horses are not an investment, anymore than my dogs are.

Get in the car and come to NJ and I will hook you up... a full week employment in Manhattan including travel in and outta town. You would not have to work except to volunteer your time. Should be fairly easy but we will station you at a hospital hot spot and get you a mask and goggles. You will be in the front lines.

I agree that some of the big cities are so crowded that they are the proverbial petri dish. I think that Indianapolis is that way to an extent. Kentucky, Ohio, and Indiana have not been hit hard so far. But there is nothing open except grocery stores. One guy told me that if business gets any worse, millions and millions of men will have to leave their sweethearts and loved ones and go back to their wives.

You don’t feed them and house them and vet them and exercise them?

New York, New York, so great that they named it twice--I couldn't make it there--I couldn't make it in Chicago.

It IS like the Flu. The main problem is nobody has built up immunity to it yet because it is new. But there is still not nearly enough data to say it is worse than the flu.

Some people continue to ignore the naturally acquired immunity in these ideas. If your recovered, then your immune and cant spread covid-19 anywhere. It is what they call herd immunity and it is real and it protects everyone if enough people are immune. Every day we get thousands more who have acquired immunity. Soon will be hundreds of thousands and maybe millions of people immune, depends on how many are infected and recovered, certainly we know of some recovered people. In 14 days 80% of that 378,000 number will be recovered and immune.

Dogs and horses cost money. They are not like investing in a stock or a bond or real estate. I own them because I love them and enjoy them.
