I've another rat AND chipmunk infestation, eating chicken food not eggs. I'm using these rodenticides this time around:

I use a pipe to apply the pellets as far back into the burrows as possible so the chickens and dogs can't get to it.

On another note the Ukraine war has done a number on the price of Black Seeded Sunflower Seeds which comprise about 1/3 of my chicken mix and which we also feed (a lot) to the birds year around. It's gone from 12 to 20$ per 40 lb in two months. I think I'm going to bite the bullet and buy 100$ worth to stock up some and start some serious rationing. We don't have to feed the birds year around but it keeps them in the proximity which in turn greatly reduces insects in the summer.

Its in the part of the Rollaway Nest box I built where the eggs roll to for gathering. They can reach through a 3 1/2" opening to a distance of about 10" to get the eggs.
I narrowed the opening down to only be high enough to let the eggs clear but they can still reach through. I could extend the egg tray another 12" but that would ruin the design of the Rollaway box which had came out pretty good.
I'm still trying to get over my resident prairie dogs' effort to come up from underground ...cutting a perfect hole ...through the bottom of the Rubbermaid trash bin I keep my chicken food in. ...Then I took a thick plastic 55 gallon drum and cut off the bottom and set a new Rubbermaid can in that and about 2 months later they had gone through both. I don't see how they can be that smart about where the food is but I've seen other examples of them figuring out things I guess ...they are like a combination of a goopher that comes out of the ground running around like a squirrel and behaving like a thieving monkey.
I've thought about trying that Tomcat pellets. For rats I've used blocks that you put a nail through so it stays in place which has worked on some species at least. I use a strychnine laced seed for some pests which I put down in the hole with a long handled spoon.
I've never fed these or knew they ate them, but I was wondering today if you could grow them. I've grown regular sunflower seeds and their pretty easy and quite showy.
We've fed the nutrient dense oil seed to the wild birds for decades and more recently to our chickens which gobble down the seed whole, but like I said I'm going to cut back some. I bought five 40 lb bags for $19.99 ea yesterday, I'm thinking I can stretch it out to last about four - maybe five months, who knows maybe longer, anyway I'm going to stop spoiling the birds and the chickens.
We have 'volunteers' pop up all over the place from the wild birds scattering the seed and then the birds eat the seed right out of the flower head when the plants mature. I don't have the acreage or the equipment to grow as much as I'd want. In this area large plantings of sunflowers are for 'dove shoots' which are popular with bird hunters late summer.
