And that makes it OK? Acceptable?
Why? Because it's Israel, God's Chosen People? Because of Gen 12:3?
Would you have this tolerant attitude if it were a Chinese lobby doing the same thing?

"Does it concern anyone other than me that a foreign country is able to exert this much influence over us? To box us into a war?" -
First of all, nobody "boxes" us into a war.
As far as a foreign country, it happened with Iraqi lobbyists. Ahmed Chalabi and the Iraqi National Congress pressured Congress and several administrations for years until we went to war in Iraq.

But back to Iran.
The OP? Mountain, mole hill. Huff Post, liberal bunk. If you believe Iran has the right to have nuclear weapons, that is your right to believe that. Evidently your hero obama believes that and that is why is has been ineffective on the subject of Iran. I don't. Obama is not a leader and he is certainly no friend of Israel. I am glad that most of Congress is. That's helps me sleep at night. Like I said, if you are so concerned about the "Jewish" lobby, contact your senators and congress person. -

Yes, it does. In 1947 American Orthodox Jewish Rabbis opposed the creation of Nation Israel. Of course, once it was a done deal they wanted to run the show.
Until the middle 19th century when Darby invented dispensational theology, Christianity had no theological reason why a nation of Israel should exist and most Christians had no use for Jews.
Historically, most Americans hated Jews and still did when my father was growing up.
In effect, Nation Israel is a British/American Baptist invention. -
Do you hear that? That's the sound of Ben Franklin, Thomas Jefferson, George Washington, and Patrick Henry rolling in their graves.
The Constitution says that the Congress is supposed to declare war before the President can dispatch troops. The President should not have the power both to command the troops AND to determine if we actually go to war. There is good reason for the separation of powers--to prevent the prerogative of kings. -
It is rather disheartening the way dispensational theology (a modern invention) has run amok. Sure, we should consider the nature of the world around us, and an ally in Israel can be an asset.
However, it scares me stiff the way some Christians use misguided dispensationalism to declare what the U.S. government is supposed to do. For some "defending [the modern, secular state of] Israel" is the be-all-end-all of politics. It is the sole determining factor of God's blessing on any nation. All the blatant disregard for the Constitution and oath of office (PERJURY/LYING); rampant abortion (MURDER); homosexuality; theft through inflation, taxation, and wealth redistribution that is a blatant violation of the "unjust balance" that God calls an "abomination"; and other putrid sins are not the make or break of God's blessing on a nation. The only thing that matters is giving foreign aid (even contrary to the Constitution) to a modern state of Israel without regard to mortgaging the lives of children and grandchildren against their consent. Because of a faulty interpretation of the Old Covenant and the idea of the church as a mystery "parenthesis," we cannot seem to accept the truth of what Paul said several times that "Jew and Gentile are equal." There is no blessing of God to anyone based on DNA alone. The only blessings one has are being in the One Seed Christ and having the faith of Abraham. Jew and Gentile are equal in Christ.
Before we mortgage the lives of millions of people to a Biblical hermeneutic (that is a modern invention), maybe it is time we discuss and debate it first instead of just assuming it. -
It is rather disheartening the way replacement theology (a modern invention) has run amok.

For the record, the majority of aid given to Israel is for security purposes. You may not know it, but for years and years, Mossad has fed US intelligence, our CIA and other govt agencies - they work hand-in-hand and exchange a lot of information. Mossad not only acts to protect Israel but is an important ally to US security in the region. (Don't you ever watch NCIS?)
And for the record, billions of dollars of US foreign aid is thrown at nearly every other nation on the face of the earth, so it's NOT ALL ISRAEL, as you would imply in your post.
Here's a sampling:

And here something else:
You will hardly, I would say almost never hear these reports on the nightly news, but whenever there is a major catastrophe in the world, like a major earthquake, etc., Israel (along with US) is usually first on the scene (although some muslim countries won't accept the help) to offer humanitarian aid.
And I'll tell you something else: If you do some googling and checking and discover some history, you will find that most, MOST, of the greatest scientific, medical, inventions, innovations, arts, and other achievements to enhance civilization and the quality of our lives, even including such mundane things like a teddy bear or the jeans you wear - were invented or perfected or composed or created by JEWS!!
Fact: Of the 660 Nobel prizes from 1901-1990, 160 have been won by Jews. Jews have won more Nobel prizes than any other ethnicity.
Fact: A Jew named Haym Solomon helped finance the US in the Revolutionary War.
Fact: A Jewess wrote the poem from which comes the inscription on the Statue of Liberty:
"give me your tired...your poor...your huddled masses..."
I could go on and on. But surely you get the idea. -
But it's not like they're lobbying to reduce or eliminate a tariff; this is WAR that we can't afford. -
