It's called population control. And it happens everywhere with many different animals. Here theres one day a year for deer control, I once heard of rabbit population control, although I couldn't tell you where as it's been many years. I other places theres bears controls, etc. So it's a common pratice.
And I find it extremely ignorant that anyone would support abortion and call people names because of animal population control.

Just curious, are you in favor of population control for humans?

We probably would not need 'deer control' if we had not killed all the wolves and cougars in the East. I am not sure the population of wolves has grown to where they are a menace.

The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service estimated in 2006 there are between 6000 and 8000 unprotected wolves in Alaska.

This is about as relevant a comment as I made, yet Ladyeagle has not chosen to delete it as she did my posting. It just shows how some in authority use their position. Should she get elected, I sure hope Palin is better than this.

This type of personal insult should not be allowed ... and Kennedy has nothing to do with this thread.

If it had been Palin, it would have been deleted via Ladyeagle. She seems to show favortism toward McCains VP.

As one who is not voting for either major party (I dislike them both equally) and as one who neither wears lipstick or is female:

The Bible references not casting pearls before swine. When the self-righteous folks jumped to take offense (as I'm sure they did) they basically called themselves pigs, which Christ didn't. Any woman taking offense to this is likewise labeling herself a pig. That's the way logic rolls.

What personal insult? He fits the idiom of a "pig with lipstick" which simply means no matter what he pretends to be he's really, underneath it all, something else entirely. He does specialize in "pork"! That's the beauty of sayings like this. It's like "a wolf in sheep's clothing"! He illustrates the point that the saying could have been applied to a male politician and not necessarily a female. But, of course, people can make something out things like this in this age of extreme political correctness. I think, down deep inside, most people understand and like these kinds of sayings. They certainly use them freely in their casual conversation and formal writing as well. I don't have a problem with either Obama or McCain using them even then I think Obama is also a "pig with lipstick" whereas McCain is much less so.

So to you, humans are equal to animals? You haven't read the bible lately have you. Humans are so infinitely more valuable then animals that Jesus died for us, humans.

It's only apersonal insult, and against BB rules if the person is a member of this board. Otherwise fair game.

I was just reading the Sarah Palin interview. And it reminded me of her acceptance speech, when in context she spoke of being a hockey mom, and 'compared herself to a pitbull with lipstick'. Puts Obamas pig with lipstick more in context. No way he wasn' talking about her. He knew exactly what he was saying and who he was saying it about.

I think you are right. I wish you would tell Ladyeagle about this. She deleted an entire posting of my which criticized Palin, and she isn't a member of this board. I guess it's OK if the person in question is admired by a Moderator.

McCain was interviewed at Columbia University today and he gave some meat to his vision. The shake up he plans to do is reduce the ineffective grid lock taking place on both sides of the isle. He says he's familiar with the root of the problem and knows how to fix it.

I actually like this interview with McCain since he is actually talking details and not just stump speech highlights. He is actually a smart man with broad views.

Your comment was deleted because the thread was about abortion and not pigs, your swipe towards Palin to attempt to derail yet another thread, just as you have succeeded in derailing this thread. It is being discussed now on the open board because you chose to bring it to the open board instead of waiting for me to see your PM and answer you by PM.

Stick to the topic and stay away from personal attacks and your posts won't be deleted or edited.

Please take this as fair warning, DF, that future attempts to derail threads will be met with resistance.

Now this thread is closed, it is on page 10.
