The ceremony was beautiful.. Great.. NO twinges of racism until a Black Faux-preacher.. stepped up to the mic...
It is the Blacks like this man and Wright and their followers in this country that are promoting racism...
Think about it.. We have BET.. but we whites would never get away with WET... (OK that is funny)
We have Black History Month.. where is White History Month.. where we can promote White culture... (w/guest speaker Jeff Foxworthy)
See my point...
One extreme is just as bad as the other...
MLK Jr.. had it right... But some (I SAID SOME) Blacks don't want racism done away with.. then they wouldn't have an excuse for their lack of failure in the 21st century... Racism has become a crutch to get jobs, and promote laziness.
A lot of people laughed including myself.
That doesn't mean we agreed with it - it was more of a "you've got to be kidding me".
You saw a lot of laughing in the debate too and they certainly didn't agree then.
;)
I'm not saying that the President agreed or disagreed but laughing is a nervous reaction too - not always an agreement.
The person doing the "praying" knew exactly whom he was addressing and it wasn't God Almighty.
The man is a racist with a deep resentment of white people and, unfortunately, he reflects thinking that is prominent among many black church leaders that subscribe to the black liberation theology.
This is the same theology that was learned at President Obama's former church and with which he was well pleased for two decades. If it were anything negative sounding about a black person - even in the slightest -
it would not have earned a chuckle from our new President but rather a wrathful frown followed by "outrage" from all corners of the community.
But since it was aimed right squarely at whites then it's okay and the excuses will abound.
Being he just became the most powerful man in the world, I doubt if he was really listening. Things were probably very euphoric/surreal to him. I can say it would have been for me. If he was like most of us, he was just glad it was over.
maybe he was like me...coming up with his own "closing prayer."
"now that I'm tired, this dummy'll get fired."
"I'm in charge of the land...this guy needs a backhand!"
"He don't know what to say...the brother can't pray!"
"And they call YOU a minister?
That sure sounds sinister."
"Float like a butterfly, sting like a bee;
Your excuse for a prayer is offensive to me!"
yep...that's what Obama was doing.
Adding his own lines.
Again, that goes back to the civil rights struggles when they weren't treated much like American's. Apparently that old geezer remembered it but I bet most folks there had no idea what he was talking about.
