Well, is it any wonder this state is near insolvency? The legislature passes a state-wide
version of the "Dream Act!" and our recycled governor (second time around in the office) signed it into law. :tonofbricks:
One more reason for our neighbors, south of the border (down Mexico way) to cross over illegally. They will now get a free secondary education! :BangHead:
If they are paid by a regular employer, they pay income tax.
If they own property, they pay property tax.
Of course they pay sales tax.
However, from what I've seen, most illegals don't get paid by a regular job with a regular paycheck so they don't actually pay income tax and they don't own property so they don't pay property tax.
I don't know how much that occurs.
Statistics show that illegals pay more in taxes than they receive.
However, if employers participate in illegal acts than that is not the illegals fault, but the employers and this would not be solved by the illegals.
Actually that is in correct. Most illegals do pay income tax as they have false documentation to get jobs. There are very few illegals who do not have false SS cards. Mostly the government turns a blind eye at least in this neck of the woods.
No that is not true. Mostly they are paid just like anyone else with a very few being paid under the table. Those who are being paid under the table only do it long enough to buy false SS cards and then get jobs where they pay taxes.
No, I believe he's saying that they pay more in taxes than they receive back in benefits.
You know - roads, education, medical care and now secondary education.
We are in debt because of college but the illegals won't have to!
As much as this pains me to say, I live on a cul-de-sac (with 15 homes) and I am the only non-Hispanic speaking person left on this block. When I moved here in 1994, it was predominantly English speaking. Gradually, over those years, Hispanic families have moved in, making this little piece of my American dream more like Northern Mexico, and a lot less like Southern California.
Every weekend is filled with blaring, often annoying Mexican music. On top of this, on most weekends there is no less than full-blown
fiesta, which eventually spills over unto my property (empty beer cans; drunk males urinating on bushes and behind cars; broken bottles of liquor strewn all over the street; loud Mariachi music until all hours of the early morning; visitors who park their cars on lawns, sidewalks, and double park making getting into and out of the cul-de-sac nearly impossible; fights and shouting obscenities; and at least one or two police visits to turn down music - which no one listens too -
because the music goes right back up when they leave the street).
I'd love to move, but that takes money, something my fixed income makes impossible to do.
So, when the governor makes it even more inviting to come over the borders without applying for the permits and paperwork to make it legal, is it any wonder that what few Caucasians are left in California are angry!
This Dream Act thing is going to cost California taxpayers more than money, and that is truly sad.
That sounds a lot like what is happening in Texas. The thing is all these people in other sates who are turning a blind eye thinking it cannot be that bad will also be experiencing much of this in the near future as these people spread out and repopulate the country. If the rest of the country wants this in their back yard just vote Rick Perry or any other candidate that thinks these people should be given special privileges instead of arresting them giving them time on prison and deporting them. They will be glad to bring this to your door step.
You are correct.
A few years ago, I received a letter from the Social Security office reviewing my account.
I noticed they had me listed as working in Texas, which is correct, and in New Mexico at the same time.
I contacted the Social Security office and notified them that I had never even been to New Mexico, let alone work there.
They didn't seem concerned at all, however this was money that was being given to the government by someone who was obviously illegal, since they were using a stolen SS number.
It is a serious problem and can cause you some serious problems in the future if not cleared up. I strongly suggest that you put a block on your SS number with the three credit reporting agencies. One thing is if the person gets arrested for a crime the SS number they give will identify you are the criminal in the future. It is a real mess and the government is turning a blind eye to this problem. The reason the government is not concerned is because they get their money and your problem does nto effect them.
One is if there was ever an outstanding tax bill. Or commit a crime Or if they take out credit under that SS number and do not pay the bill. You get the great privilege of paying it or proving you did not make it which is short of impossible or very expensive. If it was used once then that means it is out there someplace waiting to be used again. You might look here;
