can you name some authors?

Can someone point me towards authors/preachers who are Calvinist and Baptist without being dispensational also?

 

There are shedloads of them!

A.W. Pink is very good to read. John Piper qualifies, I think, though he is not 'Reformed' as I understand the word. In Britain, Peter Masters of the Metropolitan Tabernacle (Spurgeon's) has written loads of books. Spurgeon himself was Pre-millennial but not Dispensational. James White of aomin is another.

Why not read A Reformed Baptist manifesto by Sam Waldron and Richard Barcellos (RBAP. www.rbap.net ISBN 0-9760039-0-2)? That lays out very clearly what it means to be a Reformed Baptist.

In my total ignorance of things theological I read the Bible when I was saved.

Then I was introduced to dispensational theology as the only correct one.

I've been fed that for years, but there are areas that just don't seem to fit the Bible.

Now I'm older (think Fried Green Tomatoes here) and richer and have better insurance (tongue firmly in cheek) and can afford the net and some books.

And lo and behold I am finding many Baptists through the years thought the Bible teaches what I thought it did originally.

I want to build my little library.

 

That is what I always wondered, IF someone buys into 'entire package" of Dog AND the Covenant theology side, why remain a baptist? Only thing remaining would be infant baptism, but wouldn't becoing a prebsy solve that issue?

Was first taught the pre-mill,pretrib view was the truth.Started reading some puritans,and in a bible study met an amill believer.Nice guy,loved the Lord.
I tried to "show" him the truth of pre-mill......he answered and raised many questions for me. Alot of pre-mill is based on Dan .9:24-27....in the midst of the week, the anti-christ breaks the covenant....etc.

I read Jonathan Edwards History of Redemption.....he opened up some post mill ideas.....then came all the other books.

I like the Padeo understanding of things as it concerns the OT.saints...I think they have a good working model.....
I think they error trying to make NT believers, into OT saints,in NT time:laugh: Union with Christ as it pertains to election unto salvation keeps me a credo in belief.....I believe regeneration is the fulfillment of what circumcision pointed to.......not water baptism.....that is the short answer!
