Sorry about that Sue. :D I'm just not used to being up so early. At least I'm in a good mood. T went out of the house growling. I'm sure glad I don't have to be in that meeting with him!

Something needs to happen to my entire yard, front and back. But it will take at least a week to do all that needs doing and I don't have a week right now. Maybe next week. This week is full of housecleaning and sewing and company coming on the weekend. And tutoring at Jenna's school on Thursday. I am sooo going to forget to go on Thursday. I can tell now. I have stickies up in obvious places, but I tend to have selective eyesight when something new is added to my schedule.

No kids are awake and they should be walking out the door. I've made plenty of noise this morning and called them with no response. That means migraines on top of the stomach bug. Jenna woke up just long enough to tell me how much her stomach hurt so I sent her back to bed. I hate viruses! I believe the kids have caught every single one that has gone around this past year.

I'm going to get myself dressed and moving and hopefully they'll all feel better by the time they do wake up.

Good morning all! It's a chilly day here o Long Island and it's a preschool day so we have to go out. I'm SO not a morning person and I'm really a homebody so I hate having to get out of the house by 9:15. I'll take Jo to preschool then come home and homeschool Robby until we have to get Jo at 12:30, then it's back, have lunch and then finish homeschooling. Once the girls get home (the teens at high school), I'll scoot out to go horseback riding. I don't have a lot of time today because DH has to be back at church by 6:45 to teach his class - and I tend to not get home from riding until 6:15 or 6:30. We'll see if I can do it tonight. LOL!!

I'll "see" you all later! Have a wonderful day!

    Ann

Hello. I was up at 3 this morning, did some writing and went back to bed. I didn't even hear wife shove off at half eight, but I was up and about before nine. Then the rush begins.

It is municipal election time for us, and I have been busy writing speeches for some of the candidates. It is always a fun thing writing for three candidates running against each other. I better keep their programs correct. Can't have one candidate supporting the other in his speech...:saint:

I wrote my children's story on Augustus M. Toplady to-day. Remember him? What a marvellous story.

    Cheers,

    Jim

    Hi Jim:wavey:

Now there's a political chess game...writing for three opposing candidates. I see a movie in the making. It could be the sequal to the "Manchurian Candidate." I can't imagine the thoughts running through your mind as to the fun you could have with that.

    Good morning all,

I just saw my oldest daughter off - she lives in IN and spent the night here on her way to her son's basketball tournament in MO. She will be back here on Saturday.

I am not used to getting up when it's still dark anymore. I imagine that will change when the time changes this Sunday. I DO like getting up early, I just haven't been sleeping well...

I'm running my taxi service today. Five runs scheduled so far and it's pouring down rain!

    Time for coffee,
    §ue

    What?? No snow??!!!

I always thought it'd be fun to live somewhere where it snowed a lot---meaning every year instead of just rainin' all the time!!

    GM Blackbird!

We will get plenty of snow and actually, this year, I'm looking forward to it.

My roof only leaks when it rains.

The last time I've "seen" snow was in '93! We were in Alabama vacationing with the "in-laws"---- the weather people kept predicting snow for the state --- but I kinda figured it was too close to Spring time (March 3--is the actual snow date)---and that we were too far south to see anything of any importance.

Well---it started snowing---beats all I ever saw--the snow blizzard was accompanied by Lightning and Thunder---18 inches of snow overnite. The temp dropped to about 25----but by March 5---it turned out to be 70degrees again---and by then you never knew it had snowed.

I did get pictures of it, though!! It was nice!!

    Good Morning Everyone!

Blackbird, I think we've only had snow twice since then. We had some at Christmas '98 and some again in about 2001 or so, but not a drop since then. I love Alabama snows. Here today, gone tomorrow! Just enough for an occasional day off. :D

Woke up to country music on the alarm clock this morning. It was a scary, scary thing. Thought I was in the twilight zone. I have no idea how the station got changed, but we got to hear about "Linda", "the Highway Patrol" and some nasally thing that made me miserable enough to get up even though it wasn't hardly 6 o'clock!

I've got a pile of sewing to do, two sick kids home, one I'm hoping isn't really sick as I sent her on to school (snicker, and then called the school to let them know I was sending a possibly sick kid. Stupid truancy rules!) and I have to clean this room before I can start the sewing. I made an absolute mess making poodle skirts Tuesday and then the kids piled up in here yesterday so today it is to the point that you can't hardly walk.

Ha! Are ya'll being bombarded with negative political ads? I've gotten two hilarious ones the last few days. The first one told us all the bad stuff about the guy they don't want us to vote for all the way down to the size of the diamond on his pinkie ring! Now just how do you suppose they came by that information?

The second one was worse. All they could come up with against this candidate was to compare her to other Democrats and claim all they were all bankrolled by "liberal personal injury lawyers". What background does the other guy come from? Big insurance! LOL!

Okay, so now I'm a bit aggravated by all this so I start my e-mail of complaint to the Alabama Republican party from whom it appeared at first glance to have supported both of these inane ads. I'm one who likes to get my fact straight so in this process I figure the poor guy who was the target of the first ad, is actually the Republican candidate! It appears that certain so-called Republicans want us to vote for the Democrat! Yep, Alabama politics at their best. I'm so glad I'm not tied to a particular party.

    Ya'll have a good day!

Preacher, after helping T put a 3 inch lift on his Amigo, I've seen quite enough of the underside of a car. At least for a while. However, depending on how bad I needed said car and how sorry I felt for BH.

I don't usually either, but this time of the month we don't get much mail and these two were BIG! They were full 8 X 10 card stock sheets. Totally unavoidable.

They are a callin' too. Our supreme court cheif justice race must be going to be a close one cause one of the ads was about that race and then I got a call today about the same race. I promptly hung up, not wanting my vote to be influenced by anymore mudslinging than it already has.

Hmmm, liberal lawyers versus insurance companies, who too chose? Been trying to find out if there is an independent candidate. :D

I'm bored. I have things to do but can't get motivated to do any of them. Sad isn't it?

I have done stuff today, I haven't been completely useless. There is just more stuff to do and I don't want to! I really don't want to sit and do nothing either. What a contridiction! It's what comes of being home so long with sick kids.

One thing I have to figure out is what to fix them for supper. Probably going to go with plain pasta again. Tried rice for them for lunch and that promptly didn't work. I personally am starving, but feel to bad for the poor sick things to eat in front of them.

    Barak Obama???

Where in "Sam Hill" did he come from?? And what happened to Hillary---is she still in the runnin'???

Condy will get Blackbird's vote---if she would only run!! But I don't think she will!!!

Condy? She's nothing but a puppet. Colin Powel I would have voted for in a heartbeat, but not Condi.

Obama is too close to his Muslim roots (though claiming to be a Christian) to get my vote. He'll have to convinced me that his faith is the real thing or at least that he has completely turned away from Islam never to return, before I'll vote for him. How he got into the spotlight is a mystery. The only thing close to the national spotlight was a speech given at the Democratic National convention (or something similar) that happened a while ago. This I read a few days ago and have already forgotten.

Hillary? Not sure she has the platform or support base for a presidential run. She needs to stick with being senator for a while longer.

Barak Obama is a member of the United Church of Christ. How active, I don't know.

I try to have only minimal involvement in politics. I hate the whole election time and can't wait to get it over with.

Today was a busy day for us so I couldn't get on the computer until just now. This morning was our friend's 2 year old son's birthday, then Joanna got a hair trim (her hair is so thin and whispy that it's going to be terrible this winter - I'm hoping an evening out of the ends will help her), and then we had a short time to homeschool before I went horseback riding. I had a TERRIBLE ride - I last rode on Monday and he hasn't been ridden since then, so he had a LOT of energy and was VERY stiff. So for 35 minutes, I battled a 1500 lb. animal who wanted nothing more than to either stop or run like a lunatic. He bucked more for me today than he has in the history of me riding him (2 years). I finally gave up because it was obvious that I was not going to win this battle and I was not looking to go to the hospital today. LOL - You know what? The other girl is going to ride him tomorrow morning and he'll be an angel. LOL! When I was done riding and got off, he suddenly was all snuggly and wanting loving, the dope. Did you ever get snuggled by an animal that was 1500 lbs. and who's BACK is 5 feet 9 inches??? He's such a goon.

So now, we're all done with dinner, and the family is watching Survivor. It's TV night for us (OK - not the best thing but it's a sacred time for us - a time that we're all together, snuggle in and relax). Apple pie a la mode and Survivor. What more could you want??

Not involved in politics? How do you know who to vote for?

Oasis, I could be a member of the United Church of Christ and still think like a Baptist. What would I be? A member of an organization who pays lip service and not heart service. Obama's admittedly absent father was Muslim. It probably can't be proved just how absent he was or how much influence he held over his son. I am considering obtaining a copy of the book Obama has written.

Annsni, were all vegging out here too. Cass is reading Jenna's library book and Jen and Chris are watching Scooby Doo. I've got CSI Miami on but I'm sitting at the computer.

I learned a new skill today. I managed to install a printer on my computer all by myself. Never could figure out why it wouldn't work from T's computer, I did everything I knew to do, short of reinstalling the software, before I decided to try it on mine. Worked fine on mine. T can fix his own computer, it's a big no no for me to mess with it. :D You realize that doesn't necessarily mean I don't mess with it? I just make sure I don't get caught!

I don't listen to any of the ads - they're all lies anyway. I'll try to meet the candidates and ask them questions point blank and then I'll do some research too. If I honestly don't know, I'll admit that I vote party lines then.
