Give it up and let her go Ann! Trade out going for extra chores (something she hates doing of course) and make life a little easier on yourself. Unless.....you have her pegged to babysit the little ones while you get some much needed rest. Now that might be worth making an extra trip for. :D

Been at the sewing machine all day and still haven't done what I planned to do! Everybody keeps calling saying "I need this now!". I feel sorry for them and do it, but I'm not getting my own done. The latest thing is a poodle skirt that is needed tonight!

I'll be in and out as I get a chance!

Well, it WILL be much easier to go out at 7:00 with the little ones rather than 10 PM. I'd normally not take away youth group but this kid has been blowing off things when she doesn't feel like doing it (yeah, I know - not the worst thing a teen can do but it's enough for me!), so I figured something a little more strict than no TV would be best - and she isn't involved in a whole bunch of things that I can cut from her. She's honestly a good kid but I don't like laziness or disobedience - I draw the line at those. Besides, I'm going to have to get up at 8AM to get her to the PSAT in the morning. I think I'm doing enough for her. LOL!

Well in that case, she needs to be doing all those things she hasn't gotten done while she is at home and lonely. :D

I too am being the evil mother (and no step in my title either). Tonight is the big game between Cass' school(city) and and their arch rival school(county). Of course the city kids think they are way cooler than those country bumpkin county kids and vice versa, so it's a very big deal. It's also only 49 degrees outside. My arthritis won't take that willingly, especially on hard, WET, concrete bleachers. Her idea was that I could drop her and two of her girl friends off and pick up. Hmmm, 3, 14 year old girls by themselves at a ballgame that is so famous for trouble that the stadium is literally divided in half and the two sides are NOT allowed to mix. Can you say, "IT'S NOT GOING TO HAPPEN!" I can and did and since I did, the other girls mothers also decided that it wasn't a good idea cause all three are at home calling back and forth like we don't have three way calling.

So I'm waiting on our pizza to arrive and then I'm going to break with the usual and see if there is anything on TV to watch. I think CSI Miami on A&E is going to win out.

LOL - Good call on the game!

OK, I'm frantic. My daughter couldn't find her student ID for all this year so far - was going to get another one but then she found the old one and gave it to me. I have to take it to the Social Security office to get a new SS card for her so we can get her permit to drive. Well, I just looked through my entire office and can't find it anywhere. It wouldn't be such a big deal if she didn't have the PSAT tomorrow and NEEDS the ID in order to take the test!! Oh my gosh!! WHERE IS IT????? I'm SO hoping it didn't get thrown away!! Please, Lord, help me find it.

Nope. I can't find it anywhere. I'm going to go with her to the school tomorrow with our receipt for paying for the test and her student ID number - along with her SSN. I'm just praying that they will allow her to test because there's no other chances for the PSAT like there is for the SAT. :(

Please pray that she can take the test. She's absolutely sick over this and I'm not too far behind.

Glad you found the ID, Ann!

    Good morning all,

Brent goes camping this afternoon and tomorrow and it is supposed to be raining the whole time! Tomorrow's high is only going to be 48º. I wish he'd decide to stay home, but...

Well, I'm off to packing his duffle bag with warm clothes!

    HAGD!

Whew! I glad you found that ID, Ann. Why is it that we mothers always get the blame when something goes missing? And it always ends up that the object is lost in a messy kid's room? It's a conspiracy I tell you! :D

Today will be spent at the sewing machine, doing our own sewing! I have a suit and two costumes to make as well as a slip for myself. The goal is to get everything cut out and the suit and the slip sewn. I can work on the costumes tomorrow and Monday.

Ummm, maybe not tomorrow. I forgot, Jenna has a choir thing immediately after church tomorrow and then I have choir practice at 4:30. I think we'll have a nice potroast that I can stick in the crockpot for dinner/supper. Maybe then I can sneak in an hour or so to sew. Might sneak in the evening service as well. Depends on DH, I'm spending an awful lot of time at church here lately.

I've got the kids started picking up the house, much to their dismay. Second son will be here in a few minutes. He and Chris have their own plans for the day so I want chores done before they get started. Jen will probably head out to her friend's house pretty soon. That'll just leave Cass and I might let her talk me into picking up one of her friends to keep her company. It'll help make up for being evil mother last night.

Gotta go get DH clothes. He's headed out to lay tile at a friends today.

    See ya'll later!

    Good morning all,

I hope Brent is warm in his tent. It's 37º this morning and has been raining and windy all night! He will probably be worn out for a week!

I slept in this morning, so I'm running behind on my Sunday morning schedule.

Gotta grab a cup of coffee and run or I'll be late for Sunday School.

    Good day!

Sometimes we think we have heard all the sermons, then along comes a preacher having a go at Jonah. It was a marvellous sermon. Drove me to re-read Jonah and think about "And the word of the Lord came unto Jonah a SECOND TIME..." How many times must the Lord come unto the second time?

    Cheers,

    Jim

Ummmmm!!!! Blackbird has news for Sweet Sue #16!!!

    37 degrees + tent + raining + windy + nite ='s ummmmmm

    Brent isn't(ain't) is not warm!!!

    Blackbird repeats

    Brent is NOT warm!!!!

Which sounds like our Sister Sue needs more education from her good pals in the Pit Stop!!!! Blackbird believes there's a course offered through the Pit Stop in how to keep warm in the Tropics and comfortably cold in both the Poles!!!

    Evening all,

Blackbird, thanks for the advice, but I don't venture into the Pit Stop. I can't handle all the cat-hating remarks...I'll stay here where the dialogue is a little nicer. :tongue3:

Brent was frozen when I picked him up around 2:00 this afternoon. He came home, ate, took a hot shower, and went to bed. He's still sleeping...

    And that's where I'm heading.

    Pleasant dreams all!

Precisely the reason you need ongoing advise from the Pit Stop!!! (With the voice of Darth Sideous---AKA Emperior Palpatine) "Come to the Dark Side, Sue!!!!! It is your desssssssssss-ti---kneeeeeeee!!!!!"

    We(Pit Stop survivers) promise:

    No Force Lightning upon Sue

    &

    No Force Pushes

Only Light Sabres---the choice weapon for civilized society!!!!

    Good morning all,

Maybe I should have just said 'morning'. I did not get to bed until 4:00 a.m. and I am rather tired!

Today is laundry day (yes, I still iron clothes) and then we have homeschooling and taxi service.

Brent is STILL asleep (after 17hours)! I'm fixin' to get him outta that warm bed right now!

It's 27º this morning with an expected high of 46º.

    Time for coffee,

But Sue, you were heading off to bed at 11:45 last night.....surely there is a story there..........

It is always a good morning for me....when I awake.

To-day, I want to pay tribute to Hungarians, who 50 years ago to-day, dared to stand in the face of communism.

The boy we sheltered in Halifax in 1968 was born that day in Hungary. His mother was shot and killed carrying him to safety. He escaped, with his great aunt, to Italy and eventually to Canada. Ede is to-day an engineering professor at Dalhousie University in Halifax. Communism could not have its day over a determined people.

    Cheers, and God bless,

    Jim

Jim - what an amazing story!!

Nothing exciting here. We've done homeschooling, Joanna just got back from preschool, we're going to have lunch and then I'm going horseback riding. Tonight is play practice for the girls - I'm hoping DH will take them so I can just relax.

    Good Afternoon Everybody,

It's good to be back, I've been in the hospital for a few days. They have finally come to a diagnosis for some of my ongoing behaviorial problems.

I have been diagnosed with Bi-Polar Disorder(formerly known as manic-depressive), and I was admitted to the hospital after an "episode" last week.

I guess it's good to finally have an answer instead of guesses, it's just that the answer has me scared to death. Hopefully the new meds I'm now on will help me to deal with what I'm going through.

Hopefully, I can check in maybe tomorrow, or the next day.

Oh my goodness! I'm so glad you have an answer and I pray that the doctors can find the right medications for you! I was wondering where you were when you weren't posting your wonderful meals and such.

((HUGS)) and I'll pray for you.
