    Good Morning Everybody,

We're having a heat wave in Michigan right now. It is 5 degrees out with a windchill of -10. Much better than where we were. Supposed to be headed for a high of 20 today, gonna feel like spring around these parts.

The graveside service for my friend Jim was nice on Saturday. Cold, but nice. I spoke on how Jim always made sure he was "ready to go", fishing or hunting, and how we could be sure that we are "ready to go" when it is our time. The family was pleased with the service. More proof that I made the right career choice. Good thing it was cold I could always say my knees were knocking from the cold, not nerves, right?

Wouldn't you know it, one of the brake lines broke on the car yesterday. So guess who is going to be under a car in the cold today?

50 degrees in "sweet home Alabama" huh Cuz? Must be nice, we're celebrating because the thermometer finally reached 5 above. LOL!!!

Time to go get my auto parts together and get ready to play auto mechanic. Brrrrrrrr.

I'm a master proctastinator, so if I didn't, everyday would be a free day. LOL!

We're taking the rest of the week off for the move. I dread it. I hate moving. I moved around for my whole life and then surrendered to be a missionary. I hope this is the last time we have to move!!!

So here we go, on the move.

    Have a good day, everyone!

Spinach - I'll be praying that your move goes very smoothly and that you are settled into your home quickly. I also hate moving. :)

If you guys could pray for my DH today and in the days ahead. He's got some difficult decisions to make in the near future and he absolutely needs to hear a leading from the Lord. I'd appreciate it.

Well, today is a day HOME. I love days when I'm home. :) Oh! I need to call my dad to see if he can get out to come for dinner! Remind me later in the morning (he sleeps in).

Not much else going on. It's a quiet day, which I love. I'm such a homebody and hate to be out of the house all the time. I'd much prefer to just be home with my family and enjoy this place.

I left some bacon and egg "muffins" on the counter (a new thing a friend taught me - place a piece of bacon around the side of a muffin pan indent (where you put the muffin batter) then break an egg into it. Bake for 20 minutes and you have a bacon and egg "muffin"! They're good! I also left real muffins - orange cranberry - and fresh juice in the fridge. Have a great day all!

Spinach, I feel your pain. We moved from NYC to Charlotte NC on January 2nd and we just finished unpacking the last boxes. Every day felt exhausted, not to mention staying on the phone with incompetent office help when changing our addresses and personal data. I have tried Social Security office three thimes already, twice I was cut off after 15 minutes of waiting, and once I just gave up. Its no fun anymore.....

Wow! I don't beleive it. When I looked out the window this morning I discovered an inch and a half snow!!! The natives told me last Sunday at church that we are due for a snow at this time because they did not have it for years. And so we did. I'll have to get out later to clean off the car and sweep off the driveway (sidewalk). Should have put my car into the garage.... :) The temp here is 27º, going up to a balmy 34ºF. Seems that we will have this cold spell staying with us for the rest of the week. Hope you folks are doing better. :type:

Ann, a bacon & egg muffin is what the doctor ordered for today! Thanks.

We had a pretty good snowfall out there and our little wolf friend is slinking around again.

We were watching the inauguration this morning, oldest kid is still watching the comments and such on it. There sure were a lot of people there!

Got one kid home sick, another home to watch the Presidential stuff, and one kid at school. They sure seem to enjoy keeping me on my toes!

Dear Brother Barnabas, Perhaps North Carolina is just giving you a New York welcome.

I watched the whole presidential affair this morning. Memories overflowed in my heart and mind. I participated in the Civil Rights Movement in 1960 and this is a moment we dreamed about. Never thought I would see it in my lifetime.

Cheers to everyone. Enjoy the day and blessings to all,

    Jim

It must be Bro. Jim, it must be. :)

After cleaning off the snow and ice from the windows of my car I joined Lenke in watching the inaugural ceremony. I applauded the graciousness of Pres. & Mrs. Bush, smiled at the near fumbling of the words by Sen. Obama, as he was sworn in to become the 44th President of the United States, but admired his speech where he reached out to friends and "foes," looking with great hope and expectation into the future. All in all it was a moving event.

I just watched it....it seems like Justice Roberts was the word-flubber, and Obama kind of just followed ?

Yep, that's what the newscasters are saying Curtis. It appears Roberts was at fault and Obama knew the words weren't correct and hesitated. Gotta have a "moment" in every event!

Gina don't feel bad, I have one home sick today too. Made her watch the inaugeration along with Chris. She paid better attention that he did! I worry about that boy sometimes.

Except for watching our history lesson, we haven't actually accomplished anything today. I'd feel bad, 'cept it'd be to much work. Yep, I'm feeling lazy today!

Hey, Bro. Curtis, so you say it was Justice Roberts' fault? I think it was Gina's fault! She was watching the inauguration with two of her daughters and she said nothin' to correct the Justice. Yap, it is Gina's fault. :tongue3:

By the way, if President elect Obama knew the words, but the good ol' Justice made a mistake (for he did not have his q-cards with him), Obama should have said the right words without any hesitation to make things flow evenly. Justice Roberts would have realized his mistake but the TV public would not have realized the mishap. But anyway, I thought it was cute.... :type:

    Good Morning Everyone!!

What? No one is up yet? Don't you know that the early bird gets the worm? Then again, who wants worms for breakfast anyway.

I suppose I could fix ya'll some breakfast. Hmmmm, lalalala, mmmmmm.......

Okay, there ya go. Fresh coffee, cold milk, 11 varieties of cereal, 6 varieties of poptarts, fresh whole fruit (I did wash it for you), and the kettle is hot on the back of the stove for those of you who perfer tea. What?

You didn't really expect ME to cook did you?

My day has already started as you can see and it is stacking up to be long and boring. T has to be to work in a little over an hour. I have one kid who has a migraine, one that has some virus (it better not be the flu), and then there is Chris.

Chris who went to bed with his fingers crossed after telling his dad he hadn't done anything yesterday except watch TV. We read some of Shakespeares sonnets, did biology, read and discussed 3 chapters in Genesis and did algebra as well as watching our history on CNN. Obiviously, I'm not keeping that boy busy enough!

I'm off to what sort of trouble I can get myself into before the docs office opens so I can make Jenna an appointment. Anyone want to come sit with us for 3 hours this pm while I get her seen?

Spinach - I will let you in on the fun of our last "change of address/moving" cards that we sent out. Ready??

    _____________________________________________________________
The front of the card is red with big black letters:

"I'M NEVER GOING TO MOVE AGAIN. EVER."

    Inside the card, it says:

    I SWEAR.

I loved it and HAD to have it. :)

Well, I got up late today thanks to a dear little squirrel who thought our attic right above my side of the bed was a great place to start chewing and scratching and making noise at 2AM. It went on until around 4:30 and kept me awake the entire time. NOT a good thing. I'm going to go out in a few and see if I can see how he got in. Otherwise, I'm hitting the hardware store for some rat poison. I can't have this going on all the time. I hate these stupid squirrels!!

You know, I should have a house-warming party every time I move. I'd have a bunch of toasters and maybe a microwave. LOL!

    Good Afternoon Everybody,

Thanks for the breakfast Cuz! Who sez you can't cook?

Must be the day for sick family members. Brenda is in bed with a Migraine and our Grandaughter Autumn came home sick from school with an upset stomach.

Not much going on here today. The temperture finally agreed to rise a little bit. Today's high is supposed to be 15 and tomorrow in the 20's.

Brenda and Autumn probably won't eat much tonight, so it'll just be me and the other three Gkids and we'll probably just grill some burgers and throw some fries in the fry daddy. It's fast, easy, and the kids like it.

Finally got the car fixed and back on the road. Funny how much you rely on brakes until you don't have them.

Time to make sure we actually have hamburger and french fries, or the dinner plans will change again.
