In this country, everyone is a "professional". LOL!Barnabas H. said:Spinach, congratulations to your moving in. Hope your tooth has gotten better, and did not hinder you in your unpacking. Lenke and I have finished our unpacking a week ago, but still have little things to do, like putting up curtains in all the rooms, getting over the garage - whch up to now was untouched. Boy, cementing over the drain in a bathroom is a major no-no. How an earth could a "professional" worker do that?
My maternal grandmother, back in Hungary, used to make delicious potato soup. She had her own garden and grew all of the ingredients to use in the soup. You just made me hundry, just by mentioning it....
I suppose I should have some mercy on them, seeing that they don't have an indoor toilet, let alone a shower.
As dh said this morning, though, we will have built 5 houses by the time we get 1.
The potato soup is soooo good!!! I saute some onions and then add some potatoes, water, chicken broth, salt and pepper. After they are nearly soft, I add my thickener---flour and milk. Then I add some whole milk. If it's too thick, I add some more water. I enjoy it just like that, but if I want an extra yum, I add some broccoli and a bit of shredded cheese or sour cream. It's sooooo good with fresh bread and butter!
I don't measure, so anyone who may use the above will have to use their own discretion in measuring. I make enough for a family of 7 and usually use a liter of milk and a kilo of potatoes.
