Boy Howdy this lovely March 14th and thanks for the birthday wishes. Son came in with 3 grandkids yesterday afternoon - 3 weeks early. His work demands his efforts in Casper and Riverton for 5 days, so brought the family now!

    Surprise, Grandpa!!

Heading to Godfather's Pizza for "Birthday Lunch".

    Evening all:

The carpet men were supposed to give me a couple of days notice before they came to lay the carpet - they didn't.

I just received a call and they will be here in the morning.

Which means, I will be off line until sometime tomorrow evening.

We will be busy this evening moving everything (except the heavy furniture) into the other rooms. Since my computer is in the living room, it will be disconnected.

Brent has Asthma and I have Chronic Bronchitis so we are leaving the house while they are tearing up the old carpet.

Play nice while I'm gone and hope to be back on tomorrow evening sometime.

I got a chance to do a resume for someone tonight and made a little grocery money. Also, a dear friend from town who's a lead teacher in another county called. We hadn't had a chance to talk in months! She works 12 hour days plus her drive back and forth and we go to different churches.

This was a very pleasant evening.

Jon's MUCH better. The decongestant was something the doctor had given us and it's in Robitussin, etc. His heart is still beating a little faster (he thinks) when he's exerted himself but I think he may be more aware of it because he actually had a pounding and irregular beat until the medicine got out of his system.

Hubby's still burning the CD and setting up for the Community Choral performance in the next county tomorrow night. Not sure when he'll get in.

Well, we got our stuff moved out of the rooms the floor folks were gonna do today and are living al cramped up. Then we waited, and waited, and waited. No show. :( I called to see if they were coming and the guy's wife said, "oh, you didnt know he was doing ______'s house today?" He had told me he'd be here by 8. So I guess we'll just wait. We have waited 4 weeks for the front porch to get finished (same guy doing the job). The concrete is poured, but the wooden frame and beams are still in place, and columns still laying in our grass. I know the church is saving money by using this guy, and I really like him and his family. But if it were HIS house, it'd be done, I feel sure

Ok, I vented. WHew. Cant do that around here - everyone's related, and I dont need to start a ruckus.

Other than that, we had a great day. The girls and I colored macaroni and bow tie pasta, then we glued them to lazagna noodles. It turned out pretty. We also went to Walmart for our weekly "run". We also delivered meals to 2 sick folks, too. So its been a good day.

Finally heading for bed and some relaxing reading. Whew. Calls from the kids not here for this special day, lots of fun with cake, presents and playing with grandkids until I am sore and weary and wearing a silly grin!

God is better to me than I deserve! Look forward, Lord willing, to chatting more in the morning.

    Morning everyone:

Cold and windy here this morning. But, thankfully there was no frost on the windshields this morning. Vivian said the traffic was unusually light on TN 840 this morning.

The antibiotics that Vivian picked up for me yesterday were almost $30.00 for just the last 3 pills. That's incredibly high. The pharmacist told her "you should see what the price would be if you didn't have insurance". She also had to stop for gas last night and it was over $22.00 at $1.979 a gallon, and that was the cheapest she saw. She's seen some that was as high as $2.169 a gallon for regular. She's talking about having me put tires on the van and the seats back in so she and several others who live out this way can car pool. Our petrol bill has gone up by 36% in just the last few months alone. I don't see how some of these people can drive those big Escalades and Expeditions and Suburbans. Vivian said one guy was filling up next to her at the Kangaroo Mart and he paid nearly $60.00 for a tank of gas! Wow!

Well, off to get some other things done today.

Dr. Bob, glad you had a good day yesterday.

Diane, glad to hear about Jon and the good day you had talking with your friend.

Sue, I'm praying for you. I know redoing things in a home can be a real pain.

    Have a great day folks.

Gas up here in the Nawth is running $2.19 a gallon. Now for driving to work that is just way too much money for what you get. However, if you're putting that same $2.19 a gallon gas in the boat or the snowmobile, it is just plain inexpensive fun. Go figure. :D

Now, now...I'm a yankee by birth, padre.... ;)

For us, my wife's driving 58-65 miles to work, depending on which way she has to take. She uses two tanks a week...that's nearly $50. 20% of her take home pay goes to petrol. There are at least five people who live within three or four miles of us that work where she works on the same shift. So, she may just go ahead and suggest a car pool. Some of those people are ready to go under now because of the increase in the petrol prices and utilities also.

Morning all. Both the little ones I keep arrived sick today. Ug! Ty is coughing, sneezing and has one bright pink eye with gunk everywhere. Jack has had a fever on and off for days and doesn't want to eat or drink as tho his throat is sore and his breath is awful. He's really cranky today too. This is going to be a LONG morning!

Our gas is $1.97 at Racetrac. Other places are much more. I use a tank every two weeks or so. Jim's gas is free. He fills up twice a day at work. His gas gauge on his company car stops working on and off so he just keeps topping off the tank. He's due for a brand new car soon.

Tater, have you ever made angels from pasta? Bowtie pasta is the wings. The body is any larger tube type pasta and tiny macaroni is the praying arms. I use a wooden ball for the head but you can also use a marble. There's some teeny tiny little pasta pieces (forgot the name) that I use for hair. I put glue on the head and roll it in the baby pasta. Spray paint them white or gold, pink, etc.... They're really pretty!
