An Ipod is an MP3 player that holds upwards of 200 songs at one time. Thankful's grandkids are lucky to have one as they are really popular with kids and adults!

I'm glad none of my grandkids have asked me for one, it sounds like it would be very expensive.

I can only listen to one song at a time anyway. :D

They run about $300 at Walmart, Sue.

There is one on the kids Christmas list. Good thing I start shopping in August!

A friend of mine listens to sermons on his Ipod. Both our pastor's and ones he records off the radio.

I have a Sony walkman mini disc player and use it daily. I can fit it in my shirt pocket and put about 40-50 songs on a single disc.

I listen to a lot of music at work, and find the IPODS & mini disc players unservicable. I do have a portable X.M. radio to listen to Glenn Beck in the morning & the Red Sox games at nite.

Sue, this is Thankful, here, not Ed. Grandson is using my computer to reprogram his Ipod. What is an Ipod? At least you received some intelligent definitions. Mine would be...It is this little thingy that plays music.

I'm sure you are not interested in my trip to Target to return defective Ipod, but I am going to tell it any way. No problem getting a replacement...very simple until she said that will be $25.00, please. Well, first the tax was more, but my older grandson who is a Target employee had bought the Ipod with younger grandson's money and had received the employee discount. I had to pay the employee discount. I argued...saying you mean we have to pay even though it might be a gift from an employee. Oh yes, the clerk responded so that we can avoid fraud...Fraud, we had a receipt that clearly showed a legitimate employee discount. Oh Well...As to the expense, grandson used his own money that he had earned plus birthday money.

The good news is that Dad had already bought most of the school supplies.

Have any of you good folks ever had a Pet Scan?

My tumor-marker (cancer) has been going up, and the doc has scheduled a Pet scan for next Friday, the 12.

For about a year it was below 15. (That's a good thing. Just like a golf score, the lower the better.) Then the first of May it was 21, then mid-June, 29, now first of August,it is 36.

Goodness Gracious! That's horrible Dr. Bob! Do be safe! An infection in your feet....

Tony, praying for both your needs!!

Cleaning, here, also! The mom of 3 called at lunch time and wanted to know 'what'ya doin?' and could she bring the children over while she went to the doctor. That would have been 5 days this week but I had taken the kitchen chairs out on the deck and sprayed them with strong cleanser trying to get the red clay handprints off the white paint, had absolutely soaked 2 tile floors and had left the detergent standing trying to get up the red mud the children had tracked in and had torn up the t.v. room doing some major cleaning. She called her mother in law but I think may have just taken the children with her. She called later to ask me about some home school pages she was doing with her daughter. Today was her first day helping.

Well I started this post HOURS ago and just found I'd left it opend and unfinished. We've had supper, kitchen is cleaned, Jim's doing yard work and I'm going to list all our 4th Grade BJU and other schooling books on Ebay tonight.

Well I didn't get any housework done. My back just wouldn't let me reach comfortably. I haven't had a bad backache in a while and could have done without this one.

I did get the rest of the karate uniforms finished and delivered. Tomorrow I can concentrate on cleaning house....maybe. I hope my back is at least some better. I broke down and took a half a muscle relaxer and will load up on advil before I go to bed. I hate taking medicine!

Diane, you're ahead of me. Our supper is still cooking. I'm not taking about how clean the kitchen is. It is Son's chore to load and unload the dishwasher and he's been down with a stomach virus so......I would have fixed the problem today myself, but I can't reach into the cabinets! Stupid back! Oh well, guess I'll break out the country china and not worry about it.

I've two choices tonight, sew up some capris for Precious or give it up and watch TV in bed. The bed is looking mighty nice.....

JB is all packed and ready to go to England/Scotland for soccer for 14 days. I'm gonna miss him dearly, but Taylor will still be here and it's not hard to get under his skin.

Well, Gib, it'll be all right as long as you have SOMEONE to aggravate!

It is sweltering here! I turned the central air off yesterday and refuse to turn it back on tonight as it is only going to be in the mid 80s tomorrow.

I have an A/C window unit in the bedroom. Brent and I are heading there to watch some movies. It's just too hot out here!

    Pleasant dreams all!

Sue, Ed said it was a good deal to get a new one for only $25.00, but it was less than two months old.

It's down to 78° here and we just have the window unit on in the t.v. room. I've got to iron some more shirts and had gotten too hot working on those chairs outside today. Jim said he really felt the heat cutting the front and back yard. Jon's been working 7 nights a week right now so he's not been around to do the yard work.

I got 6 books listed on Ebay and sold one immediately. I had some others to list (early elementary for parent and child) but saw they're selling for less than what it's worth to list them so boxed them up for our granddaughter. They're a little ahead of her but she'll enjoy growing into them and might even learn to sight read from the one book.

Scooter has emptied his toy box and has them all over the floor but then climbed up on the sofa to sleep. He's learned to go up and down the deck stairs and will come, sit on command. Not bad for 8 weeks old yesterday!

We had strawberry/ banana shortcake tonight. YUM. Jim had grilled us some hamburgers so I didn't even have to really cook. ;)

Dr. Bob, thanks for sharing pictures of those precious grandchildren. WOW 50 books!

Diane, Muffin thinks that scattering toys is a game we play. He puts toys in all the rooms and I'm supposed to pick them up and return to his toy basket. I have tried to tell him that if he can scatter them, he can pick them up, but that isn't his plan.

I had fun with grandkids yesterday. Granddaughter wanted to paint instead of going shopping. I was surprised but glad I didn't have to go shopping. I told her that we could shop while brother used the computer, but she didn't want to do that.

Hope everyone has a great day.

Morning all! Scooter had napped on the sofa next to Jim from right after supper until around 11:00 p.m. so he decided he wanted to play at 4:30 a.m. I took him out and walked him but he kept crying at the childgate on our bathroom door. Jim had another hour to sleep so I got up and brought him down to the t.v. room. He did nap on and off, on top of me, but I'm BEAT and it's time to begin our schooling.

The 3 kids arrive not having been fed so I am feeding them breakfast while Nick looks over his words for his spelling test. He's got a lot of work for today since his workbooks arrived yesterday. Off to school! Have a great day!

Dr. Bob, the picture sizes are fine with me. As long as no one complains, do leave them. It's so nice to SEE what's on the pictures.

Good pictures of bad happenings, Dr. Bob!

    Good morning all:

It is much cooler today with a chance of rain. I am SO glad!

We are off to Springfield for Dale's follow-up appointment (1-2 more I think) with his surgeon.

Then back to Lincoln for Brent's appointment with the bone specialist (last one I hope), then off to pick up Brent's glasses and try to find out why my NEW glasses give me headaches.

Then, if it's not raining, we'll be off to the fair to look at the exhibits, animals, and EAT!

and all the other fattening, cholesterol laden, carb-loaded...

    HAGD!

    §ue (see ya'll in about 10#)
