Shoveling mud is just out and out hard work!

50 books, WOW! They certainly earned their reward. I doubt mine read 50 pages this summer. We needed the break though and when it did occur to us to do a little work we concentrated on math.

One week till school starts, here, so one week to get the house really clean. ;) :D Somehow the kids just don't agree!

Someone must have done some major praying last night cause my back is much, much better this morning. Almost as if yesterday didn't occur. I've already gotten T off to work, fixed the washing machine(agitator came off and was laying on the bottom of the tub), put in a load of clothes, one of dishes(Son helped), fed the dogs and did the daily pool stuff.

    Time for COFFEE!!!!

I'm going to spend a couple of hours doing what I didn't get done yesterday and then go mow grass! It seems as if I just got it mowed last week, but it is knee high already. As a matter of fact, I KNOW, I mowed it on Monday before the pool guy came on Thursday and that was just last week!

Oh well, another day, another dollar(saved that is cause I don't get paid for mowing grass ).

    Good morning all.
Been having some bad pain and dr thinks it is either gall bladder or kidney stones. (I have a history of kidney stones but this seems different.) Going in for an ultrasound and some other tests this morning. Would appreciate prayer. Thank you!
This was supposed to be another travel day for me. The Lord had other plans.

Wow Pamela, Hope all is well and can easily fixed.

I've got Nick and Kelsey finishing up their work. She's hard to keep on task. Keeps asking for a break. I'm not putting the 4 year old at the table at the same time. Kelsey can't pay attention if anyone else is talking or moving around. I'll help her with some things while the older kids recouperate.

    I hear talking........

Well Kelsey took 5 1/2 hours to do her work! It easily should have taken her one hour. The workbooks she's using are still doing 1st grade review and her reading was only 2 short pages to end a story. Nick finished a good hour ahead of her but he's used to keeping on task.

Kelsey DID get 100 on her spelling test. Nick missed one word out of 15. He left out a double letter. Had to write it 10 times and it gets added to next weeks words.

MacKenzie got her 'work' done with massive help and is falling asleep to the full length Pooh movie. Baby is in the playpen next to me with his blankie and fingers in his mouth. Cat and Dog are both sleeping!

Did I see corn dogs and funnel cakes?! A diet Coke will cancel all that fat.

While you all have been collecting dogs and cats, the mrs and I have been busy looking for something to put in our backyard.

They are Nigerian Dwarf goats. We've met with the breeder and we'll have them around March.

Padre, those are so cute. Are they as pets or will their fur be used for something?

We have a tiny but major storm almost overhead. It should hit within minutes. Our temp has dropped 22° in just 10 mins. It's 68° with 25mph winds and yet the sun is still out. We had a major storm during the night and thousands are still without power but my ground is all dried up and the mosquitoes eat up my face and ears when I walk out with the dog. These bites itch!

Tomorrow is puppy's shot day. The local Feed Store has a traveling Vet who comes from 11:00 - 1:30 one Saturday a month. You can get a package deal with all the shots and vet strength worming for much less than a vets visit. I'll save 66%! Scooter is growing like CRAZY!

Not only their fur---but the meat, too!!

We have a missionary family----some of the most righteous people you ever want to meet---stationed in the country of Senagal on the African continent---

They were given a pair of Rabbits-----his wife & kids all see the Rabbits in the little cage and they say

    "Ohhhhhh, how cute!!!!"

The little African children see the Rabbits too---they say

    "Yum! Yum!!!"

Can't have mint jelly in the house any more. Makes the little guys nervous. :D Guess that puts an end to the missionary conferences, too.

They only get about 20" high, but their milk production and butter fat is high for their size. Goat's milk fudge is the BEST! Guess you could get a decent pair of slippers out of the hides but....

Gayla - Just read your post. Will be praying.
Thanks to all who prayed for my tests today. A lady I know from church ended up being assigned to do my ultrasound. I had forgotten she worked there. The Lord is good.
I have a "sludgy" gallbladder which will probably have to end up coming out considering all the trouble it's giving me. No visible stones but lots of junk floating around. I've started doing research and am awaiting blood work results to see if it has affected liver function. It's a relief to know what the problem is.
Diane, that's great about the traveling vet. Our annual shots, heartworm and flea stuff for our dog are an expense I always dread. Hope this next storm over you doesn't do any more damage.
Heading to South Carolina tomorrow. Going to check road conditions.

Hey Pam, we have an old gall bladder cleanse recipe. Not kidding, it works on a LOT of people. Email bob@phr.net and I'll zap you back the instructions.

With what we eat today (french fries alone will max your gb for a week) it is no wonder people have problems. And the LAST thing you want is for the medicos to slash, burn or poison you.

Agree with Dr. Bob! I've known many young women who've had gallbladder problems and surgery. Everyone of them had terrible diets of fast food or greasy southern fried foods.

I've seen pictures of what 'passes' after a gallbladder cleansing and it's almost scarey to think that junk is in people!

Dr. Bob, the RN I sit for, husband is a youth minister, is having horrible problems with kidney stones and migraines. Would Dr. Teresa have something to help her? Do post that link again. I've tried what I thought it was and looked on Grifnet to no avail!

    http://phr.net/
Found it! I was thinking Preventative Health Network not Resources!

What? I have a site with hundreds of hits a day (grif.net) and NO LINK to my wife's site which actually HELPS people?

    Somebody get the gun . . .

Glad you found her site. We carry about 1500 products on hand even though we only have about 225 up on the "store". Hope we can help.

Finally home after a long day and we are watching Monk.

The surgeon told Dale he could go back to work Monday. Woo hoo! That's two weeks ahead of schedule. I guess he figured that's the only way he was going to get him to exercise...

The bone specialist said Brent's arm may not ever be as functional as it was before he broke it. He said the new bone that is growing is interfering with the elbow movement. He is doing special exercises and has to go back in 3-4 weeks for more x-rays. :(

    Pleasant dreams all!

Sue, there's a funny movie about a boy who has a broken elbow and when they remove the cast, he can pitch faster than any major leaguer. Eventually his arm fixes itself but it's really cute. Can't remember the name tho. Maybe your video store can figure it out.

Thanks Gib! I'll check it out.

    Good morning all:

We are in for another hot day, with hot humidity, so the A/C has to stay on again.

After the busy schedule yesterday, today is going to be a 'rest' day. If I didn't have to buy groceries, I wouldn't even leave the house!

    Cruising,

Thanks Gib! I looked under Rookie and Little Big League, etc. and just could NOT find it! It might tickle Brent and inspire him to do those exercises.

Well, we got rain, but I think it was really a little hurricane. Down went part of our fence so Sue we will be in the fence building business now. You should see the makeshift fence we put up to keep Muffin in the yard. I don't think he will wander off, but who knows!

We used two 8 foot folding tables, flower pots, a cot and I don't think he can get out or anything else get in. It looks terrible! It is so bad I don't even want a picture of it.

I had been wanting to get rid of the tables and we were going to throw the cot out so we are okay. I had used the tables in the yard for grandchildren to paint on so they had begun to deteriorate, but Muffin is more valuable than a couple of tables.

He is having to wear his collar so he thinks he has done something wrong. He hid under the bed and somehow cut his head. So we have put stuff under the bed (which I dislike) to keep him from going under there and taped possible sharp edges.

It was a rather exciting evening.

Ed is negotiating with neighbor about replacing it. Neighbor wants to do the labor and have us pay the cost of the wood which would be fine, but I am afraid that it will take him too long to get the fence replaced so I think we will just call a fence company to do it.
