    Morning all

Ah, Sue, you beat me to posting. I got side-tracked by several things this morning. A friend of ours died on Sunday and his funeral was yesterday, but we couldn't go. It would have caused too much friction since it was in the church that split in August. I did send an email of condolences to the new pastor, though, and he seemed quite cordial.

It's almost 50 here now, and it's supposed to be nearly 73. We're supposed to have strong storms tomorrow through Monday or Tuesday. This is TORNADO season here. Last year we had at least six go OVER our section of houses and hit in the field behind us. It was frightening to watch. I've been through at least six tornado's that have hit where I was, and it's something I'll never forget. We really have nowhere to go here if there is one unless it is in the hallway with all of the doors to the rooms closed. The only other place is the master bath in the tub. We thought about having someone come out and put in a shelter underground.
May do it with the income tax refund.

Didn't get to sleep last night. We went to bed at 9:30pm, and I got up at 10:15pm with an asthma attack. Guess I'll try to get some sleep today.

    You'ens have a good day! ;)

    Blessed ugly morning.

I am not a mornign person. Don't function as "nice" until about 10 am. Taught our college class until 9:30 pm last night and then home for supper and late study.

Up this am at 6 - have a young gal going in for surgery and I must needs go pray with her and sit with her hubby, so just stopping by a minute to check email and say "hey".

    Hey.

    Good Morning, All!

Sue, what is a picture chest? Is is like my box of pictures that need to be put in an album or scrapbook?

Currently, I have this large basket of pictures on one of my end tables. Guests really like to look through the pictures. When I have albums on the tables, no one ever looks at them. So I decided, just put them in the basket.

My granddaughter has started a picture scrapbook so I think I will get out one of the box of pictures and let her put them in her scrapbook.

Today will be a busy day. I'm taking Muffin to the groomers, then will take some paintings to the mall to sell, then on to the grocery store.

There were storms in the state last night, but nothing near us. We keep praying for rain.

    Have a great day everyone.

Exactly, Betty! I have this huge oak chest that is crammed full of pictures. I have about 15 albums full, but they are falling apart, so I need to remove the pictures from them and also file the loose pictures.

I have four boxes, one for each of my kids. They will get them when I am no longer 'here'. All I need to do now is get the pictures divided INTO the four boxes and try to remember dates for the pictures that I didn't take time to date when I took them...

Let's see, I divided my pictures into family groups about 6 years ago. Now I have that many years to add to those boxes.

When we were moving our books, I found all sorts of things that had been placed in books for safe keeping. It is fun to find them. A memory surprise. I found poems written by my children and other special things.

And to top it all off, I cleaned out a couple of my dresser drawers and found the $100 bill that I thought that I had lost. I had looked everywhere for it and decided that I had lost it, but there it was in a small coin purse that I thought I had checked.

Well, I've worked almost 5 hours on pictures and I think I'm done for the day. I knew it would take me 2-3 days once I got started.

It's hard to go by family groups because most all of my pictures have all 4 of my kids in them. I guess they'll just have to get copies made...

I'm going to catch up on my mail before I start supper.

Speaking of organizing pictures...I just completed a project that took about 2 years!

When my mom died, I got all the pics she had and combined them with the ones I had. I've scanned them all into my computer and set up a "Family Pictures" folder with separate folders for each family represented. As I scanned the pics, I saved them into the appropriate folder and put the original pics in large brown envelopes with the same file name as I set up on my computer.

I have pics of my grandparents' parents and siblings, as well as pics of my parents when they were babies, through childhood, through engagement, and their wedding. Then I have pics of my brother and me from babies through adult. I have pics of both of my parents' siblings, their children and grandchildren. All of them are scanned into my computer and saved.

The pics inside the folders are all arranged by year (if I had the date) so they are in chronological order. When I had it completed, I burned CD's of the "Family Pictures" folder and sent them to several aunts, uncles and cousins. I asked them to send me updated pics as they get them, and I plan to keep updating the album.

It was a great project, but took awhile. Sometimes I worked on it for several days at a time, enjoying lots of great memories. Sometimes I didn't work on it for several months because it was kinda sad.

But overall, I thoroughly enjoyed doing it and those I sent it to have been so appreciative of it. AND, it was a great way to get the pictures organized!

    Evening All,
I may have to work a double to cover for BH. We played so hard the little critter crawled under the blanket i put on her chair & went to sleep. When I got her to put her back in her cage I had to actually put her in her box. Been awhile since she lay & slept in my hands.
Didn't have any phone calls today & Agee was actually consoling me for a change. They put me on one of the hardest jobs in the plant today, but at least I'm working. Thats proably why I got called back.
Supposed to finally start warmin back up here. Tues. when we were in G'boro we actually saw some pink dogwoods in bloom, & some redbuds starting to bud. They're running about a month ahead of schedule this year. Those are tha main trees i use to guage when to start my serious fishing time, but afraid it's gonna be goofy this year.
Well I'll come back in a bit &get the lights, & set the timer on the coffee! Have a good night!

    Morning all:

It's windy as the dickens here this morning. I don't know how, but a female bird, ready to lay eggs, is sitting in front of our garage hiding from the wind. We heard her hit the door when Viv went out. She didn't look so good. Those gusts have to be pretty strong to keep a bird down like that.

Vivian just called and said that the wind was blowing so hard it was blowing tractor trailers all over the road. The weather report I just read is calling for some heavy thunderstorms today and tonight with large hail, strong straightline winds and tornado's. Guess I'm going to have to move a bunch of stuff around in the garage to get the car in .

Hope all are doing ok. Have a great day!

    Good morning all,

Tony, you are having the same weather we are having. It is very windy here and we are having thunderstorms most of the day with at least 1/2 inch of rain. Same thing tomorrow and Saturday.

It is 57º here this morning! That is the warmest it has been in the morning since last fall. It will be back in the 30's tonight...

I have to get out in this weather for a dental appointment today, then I will be going to visitation this evening for my SIL's brother.

Meantime, I will be working on pictures. CJ, that is a great idea, but I'm not sure I would ever get it finished.

    HAGD all!

I guess the storms are making a line from north to south today. It is very windy here and some of our schools are letting out early so the buses don't have to be on the road during the storms. It's supposed to get bad here between 3 and 6.

The wind is so bad right now, that when I got into the car earlier I had to fight to close the door!

Acckkk! We're infected! Had to carry Cassie in to the doctor this morning because her migraine had gotten so bad. Turns out she has strep. While I was there, MIL had to pick up Jenna and bring her to me. End of it was that we have to treat all three kids for strep. :( 'Nother $100 for meds and $40 for doc.....I hope my money tree blooms here real soon!

Gotta run get medicine and homework(if the school stays open that long). See ya'll later!

Just needed a break and thought I'd stop by for a donut and a pepsi (not much of a coffee drinker). Our church just finished its annual missionary conference. Cathy and I hosted a gentleman that spent his life in Africa (his grandfather and his father were missionaries also). Wow, what awesome stories of God's miracles.

Anyway, thanx for the donut. Talk to ya'll later.

It got up to 71 here today! Beautiful day.

Our high school students are all on trips of various kinds, so middle school redesigned our day so we could watch ACC basketball from 1-3. We had brown bag lunches in our homerooms. What a fun way to end a day! AND Wake won! What a surprise! Go Deacs!

I finally broke down and went to the doctor -- what I know began as allergies is now bronchitus. Now hopefully, I'll be on the mend

    Eek, MC! You're infected too!

We better make sure we don't breathe on Sue tonight. She won't appreciate catching anything else this winter.

Made it through the storms this afternoon. The wind blew over trash cans and sent the dogs wading pool off the deck. My dad lost power on and off for a while. Mostly though it was just another storm system.

Hehe, I called T to tell him that the wind was picking up and to watch out for it when he left work and he kinda just wasn't interested. Till he left work and nearly blew away! Then he called to let me know I was right. (I already knew that! :D  )

Making chicken noodle soup for my sick younguns. The chicken just needs to stew for about another 30 minutes. It smells wonderful. I'm not sick but I plan on enjoying it.

I'll send a bowl your way, MC. It'll be good for you too.

It is a marvellous thing to sit and listen to the missionaries tell the great stories of God's work abroad. I started to personally help support a missionary in , wot was the Congo, and followed his life through marriage and service in another African country after they were driven out of the Congo. Our support has followed on with one of their children.

Your life must change once you hear them speak of their ventures in Christ.

Cheers, and thanks for sharing that.

MC, I don't really know you, but you have a likeable smile in your pix. Is that really you?

Boy Howdy, had a busy day. But blessed by watching Wyoming whup up on Air Force and now BYU get beat. Basketball late night is a good diversion.

But had to say "hey" to everyone still awake . . and "hey" to Sue who will be getting up in a couple minutes . . and "hey" to C4k who is probably cooking lunch about now. Time zones.

We ended up with 10 inches of snow in 3 hours on Wednesday morning, with most gone by 5 pm. And they've been billing Friday morning as a repeat and I just checked weather channel and now it looks like snow "showers" and then only 40%. WE NEED MOISTURE. We are in year 6 of drought in the mountain west and it is b-a-d.

Well, good night, good morning or good afternoon. Take your pick! ;)

    Morning all.

I don't stop by the ole coffee house much anymore. Funny I should pop in just when Dr Bob sent greetings. Actually it is only about breakfast time here ;) .

Would appreciare your thoughts and prayers for us. We finally saw a fresh profession of faith after more than a year. Praise the Lord for that!

The next night this young lady lost her favourite uncle and her brother in apparantly unrelated tragic situations.

It has been a very "heavy" week spiritually. We covet your thoughts and prayer as we seek to minister to the family where this young woman is the only believer. Keep this family in your prayers as well.

I have thought the same about Bitsy. She looks like a really nice person that we would like to meet.

On the weather front spring is trying to break out here, cool and wet, but the days are getting longer in both directions.

Anyway, thanks for listening to a now rare visitor in the House. I grabbed a cuppa and a scone while I was in.

I'll have to try to get back in on a more regular basis.
