Boy Howdy back at you, brother. And haven't mentioned how much I like your new picture of you and your daughter.

Blessings on you. We DO pray for you whenever we run down a list of folks doing a work we are thankful God called THEM to do (and not ME). Mostly foreign missions, for sure!

    Good morning all,

Here we have Dr.B. and Roger stopping by and I missed them both! Good to 'see' you anyay...

It is in the forties here this morning and still raining. We've been in a severe drought here too - no crops at all in IL last year. We're supposed to have rain through Monday, then snow on Tuesday.

I have another funeral to attend this morning. This has been a 'heavy' week emotionally.

    TTFN,

Hi Sue! Lenke and I are moving still... We were both tired last night and slept like angels. A few more days and we are going to finish (we are moving the small stuff with our station wagon).

Hey, by the way, you remember that raise you asked for a while back, in handling this high profile thread (the CGCH)? If I would be you, I would follow it up quick while Dr. Bob is in a good mood... But whatever you do, don't mention anything about his bow tie!

Dr. Bob and C4K, good to see you both here again!

Barnabas, I love you humor...especially when it comes to the propellar that Dr. Bob is wearing on his neck! ;)

Good to see you folks finally waking up over there ;) .

Failed the car test again on emissions this morning - looks like a new catalytic converter is needed :( .

Ah well, the Lord is still good and this is still His day!

    Good morning everyone!

It is soggy but sunny outside today. Supposed to get quite warm as the day progresses. Maybe have a few showers in the pm for the next few days until the next big system moves in bringing rain and (brr) cold. Haven't checked the news yet so don't know if yesterdays storms caused any real damage around here.

Gonna spend today cleaning and grocery shopping. Waiting to start both until Cassie wakes back up. She's still very sick this morning. The strep is continuing to cause a migraine and the doc said the migraine wouldn't get better until the strep did. Poor kid.

Spring break is now just ONE week away! Whew! We need it! Not going to go anywhere, just sit home and veg out for a week.

This is too funny. The girls have no school today, due to the snow.
There isn't even any snow on the road! There's a light covering on the ground.
Here's a pic of what it's doing outside the pass, here it's not even doing this much: http://supercow.uoregon.edu/~uoweather/
I guess I gotta hitch up the dogs and try to make my way to my own classes though.
You know, if I get stuck in this snowstorm, there isn't even enough to build an igloo for shelter. Or to make a snowball and send it flying with a note for help attached.
    Whatever shall I do? LOL

    LOL! You need snowshoes Gina!

Not fair that you have to go to school when you could be home making hot chocolate for the girls! Poor things. ;)

I thought Alabama was the only state that shut down at the mention of snow.

Cassie's awake, I guess that means I should be cleaning huh?

    :D

Boy Howdy. Tough morning. I was awakened by a sad call. In our former church where I was interim and working with men to find a pastor, one of the elders in the church died of a massive heart attack.

He was an eye doctor, godly man who went every year with a small group of doctors, dentists, etc to Guatemala or Mexico and did medical missions. When a fellow doctor was killed in a plane crash last year, he took to man's teenaged sons under his wings.

Now they, his lovely wife Lynn, and his own teenaged sons are without a dad. If anyone was "prepared" (in the sense of solid testimony, faithfulness in a walk and service to the Lord) it was Scott. He was 45 and a dear friend.

Dr. Bob, I'm very sorry to hear that. Was he with Doctors Without Borders? When I was desperately looking for someone who could work with Anna's vision I came across them somehow and began reading, just wondering if it's the same thing. I'm sorry to hear that such a person isn't with us anymore. :(

MK! You were right. So here I am. At home. With the girls. :D My instructor overheard me on the phone with my daughter before class and told me to go ahead and go home and I won't lose points for it, because all we were going to do was watch a Jeff Foxworthy show. Fair enough!

I will go back for my writing class, but that's later and it's a short one. Perhaps braving the icy tundra will be easier, right now we can only see 90% of the leaves on the ground, makes for rough travel.

Being home with my girlies is a more worthy cause than missing out on points though if it came to that, long as I still get through the classes, right?

But Gina, how will you ever survive missing a Jeff Foxworthy show?

Hi all. Just had a break and wanted to ask a question. I didn’t see anywhere else to ask so I thought I’d drop in on ya’ll. Is there an appropriate place on the BB where we can:

    1. Share witnessing techniques and “trade secrets” that work and ministries we’ve tried to get people to hear the gospel (bus ministry, street witnessing, door-to-door, puppets, jail, nursing homes, etc)?

    2. A place to share testimonies of salvations we’ve seen (either through leading someone to Christ or seeing someone led to Christ)?

I’m always lifted up when I hear of people getting saved and I thought it would be awesome if there was someplace on the BB where we could go after a tough day to remind ourselves why we do this. And what better place than somewhere where we can see where God’s people are doing what is close to God’s heart?

With the help of support of friends like you, I have learned that no obstacle can arise that cannot be overcome. This journey through life is not something we must walk alone, it is a shared experience and through determination, faith, and the commonality of a shared goal, we will not just get through it together, we will dream, we will uphold high moral standards, and we will accomplish our goal of crossing the finish line victoriously.

How was that for being overly dramatic?

    Hey BD,
Ya might want to try the Missions/Witnessing/Evangilism Forum in the Baptist only section. Or the General Baptist Discussions Forum, but if I'm wrong on the second...don't blame litte ole' me if they move your thread!!!

    To the rest...HELLO!!
About wore out from work. Had to put BH up just so I could type without footprints all over my keyboard. I was trying to post last nite but she was in one of her " I can type better than you" moods! Never had the time to get back on. She's in the LR now poutin'. But...like I tell Gina, gotta love her!!
I picked up an older cam corder, with nothing else. Trying to find a 9.6v adapter around the house so I can get her on tape. Its a GoldStar, & already learned the battery is about 50-75.00.
Can't get one soon but thats all right, we should have an adapter around somewhere that will work. I just want to get Agee giving her a bath on tape & send it to AFV's. Who Knows?? Course I may have to put her in hiding afterwards!! Ya know...since we're lawbreakers & all!
It's about 75 outside rite now, & supposed to be warmer(hotter?) tomorrow & Sun. Gotta call momma in Tenn. tonite & make sure she's not blown away from yesterday.
Well gotta run to the bank, ya know, cash a big one day check!! Will return hopfully!!

Been to the bank, been to the grocery store, started some trouble, went to the mall and picked up a video game T and the kids wanted, picked up my younguns late from school and finally made it home. Still haven't begun to clean house.

Tonight is the RA lockin at church so I will be sonless from 6:30 tonight till 8 in the morning. Anyone else hate for their kids to be gone at night? You'd think by now I'd be glad for the break! Nope! Not looking forward to it. Really not looking forward to having to pick him up at 8 in the morning either. Saturdays are for sleeping in!

Preacher, it's just as warm here. I had to give it up and turn on the air conditioning. My neighbor spent the biggest part of the week up in Wyoming. He said it was a shock to fly in from predicted snow to being able to go about wearing shorts and sandals.

OH my goodness! It's been busy round here today!

I'll have to eat a wheat-free cookie for sustenance to get through everything :D

Dr. Bob, I'd send you some rain, but we tain't got none here. Actually, we had another absolutely beautiful day with a temp of 79. I'm so sorry about Scott. So young. Such tough adjustments for his family.

Roger -- how exciting -- a new believer! I know that will help keep you going through the harder stuff. I'm praying for that poor lass and her losses. Ron and I have been married 25 years. We both look younger :D

Sue! It's finally the weekend. I hope you get to put your feet up a bit. You've been in my prayers all week.

MK, I've had a migraine with my bronchitis this week. Tell Cassie to hold on -- poor thing. AND I can't tell you how good that soup you sent over was.

Gee Gina! Your instructor was going to show Jeff Foxworthy. Oh My! I can just see that coming up in my Writing Training Materials for Adults class! *snicker* Speaking of which -- I've done nothing this week for that class, so I know how tomorrow will be spent.

Brandon, my oldest, is preaching a revival beginning Sunday in OH. He's an MDiv student at SWBTS. He travels tomorrow. Good thing I've been sick this week or I might have a butterfly or two for him!!!

Wake won again today. I absolutely can't believe it.

Wheat free, MC? Glad you enjoyed the soup. Is Wake winning a good thing or a bad thing? And what is it about sickness that triggers a migraine? Doesn't your body think it is sick enough already? I'm going to start an "I hate migraines" club.

Gina, you could always do an extra credit project on the benefits of staying home from school and watching Foxworthy with your girls while drinking hot chocolate.

We are now sonless. There is this quietness that has fallen over the house. It's the calm before the storm. The girls haven't realized yet that he's gone and won't be irritating them tonight. When they do the celebrating will begin and my quiet will be over.

At least the pizza is on it's way!

mk -- I live across the street from Wake Forest. Them winning is a good thing -- A very good thing. There have been so few wins this year *sob*

    Go Deacs

I'm on a gluten-free diet for my migraines. I have actually had a couple of really good desserts. None that I made mind you. My gluten-free desserts have been pretty stinky. Thank goodness they always taste yummy here!

    How's your girl feeling tonight?

Gluten free for migraines? I haven't heard that. I did hear just recently about Celaic Disease . It requires a gluten free diet. A friend of mine had a brother diagnosed with this not more than two weeks ago. She hadn't heard of it, but her MIL has been suffering for years from symptoms that the doctor's couldn't diagnose and now they are looking into whether this might be what is wrong with her. They are seriously considering it in her case.

Cassie is getting better, slowly. At least she'll talk now and has actually gotten off the couch a time or two. I feel bad cause she's been complaining of a sore throat for a couple of weeks now and I put it off thinking it was just allergies. There is a reason for that. It really hadn't been a week when she started telling me this that we had had both a strep test and a blood count that were negative. I almost didn't have her tested this time, cause I was really taking her in to get a shot for the migraine. For once though, I listened to my little voice and said hey, while we are here....
