It just so happens I understand it very well. However there are others who do not. So call it a learning post to establish edification.

What is salvation? Is it regeneration? Justification? Faith? Election? Glorification? Salvation is all those things. The Ordo Salutis is a casual and logical order of the different components related to soteriology (salvation). It is not a chronological order.

Well actually you can have my opinion, which was what I was after from you (you know, your thoughts, like maybe you actually might meditate on this stuff):

No. Abraham was not hell-bound prior to Genesis 15:6.

    Here's a riddle

Question when was the Ethiopian eunuch that was baptized by Philip born again?

    1. Before he went to worship at Jerusalem?

    2. After he went and worshiped and was reading what he heard?

    3. Or after Philip explained more fully the truth that he heard, when he asked to be baptized?

Btw... To my understanding of scripture in these statements there are two calls, one is effectual and one is gospel... Brother Glen:)

Look you just came at me and so now I am supposed to trust you?!? Once the trust factor goes by the way side it’s all over.

Maybe if you speak to Glenn/ tindale, Penoy a long lost, Old Union and Old Regular you could do a character check.... but nooooo, not you. To you I’m a troll.... what else are you harboring in that suspicious mind of yours. Really don’t care at this point

But here is what you should know, Wintergarden PBC is our eventual church home. I don’t know how long it will take to get my wife well... she is convalescing from 2 very complicated operations. Our financial situation is abysmal at this point... I’ve never been this poor in my life —- enough said there. Oddly enough, my wife loves Elder Blanchard and has listened to many of the sermons & she approves. So if I could be there tomorrow I would be. So there you have it, full transparency.

Oh and I looked in NJ for a church (very post modern). Any church that was any good has headed in a direction I would definitely not want them to take my family too.

There's only two places in the NT where the word is actually used, and that ain't one of them.

Ok. So the Popular Calvinist claim would also be totally without Biblical support too.

28 And Jesus said unto them, Verily I say unto you, that ye who have followed me, in the regeneration when the Son of man shall sit on the throne of his glory, ye also shall sit upon twelve thrones, judging the twelve tribes of Israel. Mt 19

4 But when the kindness of God our Saviour, and his love toward man, appeared,
5 not by works done in righteousness, which we did ourselves, but according to his mercy he saved us, through the washing of regeneration and renewing of the Holy Spirit, Titus 3

I don't think that the "Popular Calvinist" stance is to deny that these are the only two instances of the word 'regeneration' in the Bible.

FYI, I'm at odds with orthodox Christianity on the whole about the correct Biblical application of the word 'regeneration', i.e., the 'New Covenant' IS 'the regeneration'. It is through belief of the gospel that the heavenly born become part of 'the regeneration '. But, in the words of my hero Bugs Bunny, "When in Slobivia do as the Slobs", for the sake of dialog I often use the word as do most others.

OK. How does one get regeneration prior to faith out of Matthew 19:28 or Titus 3:5?

I don't. I believe faith 'regenerates'. It's the heavenly birth that must precede faith. But then, "when in Slobivia"....

Huh? Precedes means prior, before. How is does Matthew 19:28 and/or Titus 3:5 show this heavenly birth precedes faith?
