Ituttut: Robycop3, the nation in their generations is “kaput”. Christ Jesus speaks to all of us today. My Bible says in more than one scripture Israel is now cut-off.
Jeremiah 3:18- "In those days the house of Judah shall walk with the house of Israel, and they shall come together out of the land of the north to the land that I have given as an inheritance to your fathers."
Jeremiah 23:6- "In His days Judah will be saved, And Israel will dwell safely; Now this is His name by which He will be called: THE LORD OUR RIGHTEOUSNESS."
Jeremiah 33:14- "Behold, the days are coming,' says the LORD, "that I will perform that good thing which I have promised to the house of Israel and to the house of Judah:
Those days are ahead.
Jeremiah 33:23- Moreover the word of the LORD came to Jeremiah, saying, 24"Have you not considered what these people have spoken, saying, "The two families which the LORD has chosen, He has also cast them off|'? Thus they have despised My people, as if they should no more be a nation before them.
Looks as if they got their wish, for today the “nation” is not before Him.
25"Thus says the LORD: "If My covenant is not with day and night, and if I have not appointed the ordinances of heaven and earth, 26then I will cast away the descendants of Jacob and David My servant, so that I will not take any of his descendants(plural) to be rulers over the descendants of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. For I will cause their captives to return, and will have mercy on them."'(All above scriptures from the NKJV)
But God has not forgotten them. When Christ’s kingdom is full of those that are His, God will again deal with His people, and it is not going to be pretty, but they, as a nation will come to Him in that day.
I don’t disbelieve any of the above, but God is not today dealing with the house of Israel. I don’t understand why you don’t believe Christ from heaven. Christ spoke to Paul on more than one occasion. He had Paul visit heaven to help Paul understand. Paul saw things he can’t tell us, and even if he could have, there are not too many that would believe him, as so many already just ignore him, until they find something they like.
Romans 11:13-15, “For I speak to you Gentiles, inasmuch as I am the apostle of the Gentiles, I magnify mine office: 14. If by any means I may provoke to emulation them which are my flesh, and might save some of them. 15. For if the casting away of them be the reconciling of the world, what shall the receiving of them be, but life from the dead?”
God still has His covenant with His people, and has not forgotten them, but they have been cut-off just as Jesus warned they could be.
ituttut: The generations stopped in that generation.
No, they DIDN'T! Where do you think today's Jews came from...Saturn? And GOD KNOWS who the descendants of the 10 tribes are, whether WE do or not.
The generations of the “house of Israel” were cut-off. The Jews know who they are, and we do, but God see us all the same today, and He only sees them in Christ Jesus today, just as He sees us. God is not interested in any that are not interested in His Son today. ” Saying, Go unto this people, and say, Hearing ye shall hear, and shall not understand; and seeing ye shall see, and not perceive: 27. For the heart of this people is waxed gross, and their ears are dull of hearing, and their eyes have they closed; lest they should see with their eyes, and hear with their ears, and understand with their heart, and should be converted, and I should heal them. 28. Be it known therefore unto you, that the salvation of God is sent unto the Gentiles, and that they will hear it. 29. And when he had said these words, the Jews departed, and had great reasoning among themselves.” Acts 28:26-29.
God is no longer dealing with the whole nation of Israel. God always has a “remnant” of His people represented. These “remnant of Israel today” can, and are saved just as we Gentiles today. You seem to understand we are to be saved as where the Jew, wouldn’t you say. That is the reason for the two gospels’ in the time of the Apostles. Some came as the Jew with their works of “repent and be baptized for the remission of sins”, and some came as Christians by His Grace without the works, or circumcision. Romans 11:5, ” Even so then at this present time also there is a remnant according to the election of grace.” Isn’t this the way you were saved? That today is the way the Jew is saved, just like we Gentiles.
We are living in the secret age of God.
NONSENSE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Show us FROM SCRIPTURE where you got such a goofy idea! It's in direct conflict with
Amos 3:7-"Surely the Lord GOD does nothing, Unless He reveals His secret to His servants the prophets."
We need to remember in what dispensation Amos lived. Christ gave Paul His dispensational gospel for today. Have you ever read through any Epistles of Paul? He tells you he received this dispensation gospel from Christ in heaven.
I don’t understand why you cannot yet bring yourself to believe Christ in heaven. ”Now to him that is of power to stablish you according to my gospel, and the preaching of Jesus Christ, according to the revelation of the mystery, which was kept secret since the world began”.
All Amos is saying is in prophecy, God reveals what is to be known in prophecy. We today are not in prophecy. We are in the secret time not in prophecy. If we are in prophecy, then Jesus did not come. Matthew 11:13, ”For all the prophets and the law prophesied until John.”
If we understand correctly, I believe we can say prophecy stopped. If so, what came next. John the Baptist with the preaching of the kingdom of “repent and be baptized for the remission of sins? Can we find this in prophecy? This is the message to the house of Israel, for John the Baptist never preached such a thing to a Gentile, and neither did the Apostles, or Jesus. The “Great Commission” says preach to all the world, but the Apostles never got out of Israel with message before the “house of Israel” was cut-off. Only a “remnant” believed, just some few thousand of the millions of Jew’s believed God. So God had this “secret” that also was not in prophecy, and it wasn’t too many years after Damascus Road that Christianity was born.
ituttut: This secret age of God that has dropped down His Grace from heaven with be taken up again, and like the Red Sea, the troubled waters will come back together. And then that man of sin will become known.
There's NO secret age; JESUS was quite open with His ministry.
Amos 3:7-"Surely the Lord GOD does nothing, Unless He reveals His secret to His servants the prophets."
As long as God was dealing with the whole nation of Israel, He revealed to them what was in prophecy. Later He revealed to them other secrets. But the “scriptures and the prophets” could bring us so far. It is now made manifest to all the obedience of faith, of Believe on the name of the Lord Jesus and we will be Saved. Romans 16:26, “But now is made manifest, and by the scriptures of the prophets, according to the commandment of the everlasting God, made known to all nations for the obedience of faith.”
ituttut: Where did you come up with the idea Quote “Jesus flatly rejected being King during His first coming”Unquote? What scriptures are you basing this assumption on? John said ”He came unto his own, and his own received him not”. I’ll take John’s word here ifyou don’t mind.
And I'll take Amos'word over yours any day! And also, Paul's! He wrote:
Romans 16:25- "Now to Him who is able to establish you according to my gospel and the preaching of Jesus Christ, according to the revelation of the mystery kept secret since the world began"
When Jesus came, the secret of who the Messiah is was revealed. There's NOTHING about any "secret age" nonsense.
But how can you believe the coming of Messiah was a secret? This was a very well know fact. You say you believe the “Old Testament”, but turn around and plead ignorance of what it says. Amos and Paul are worlds apart. That’s the problem of trying to mix LAW and ORDINANCS with GRACE. It will not WORK today.
Why can’t you just forget about Amos who is going to inherit the earth, and you are not. According to Paul’s gospel (you quote above) Jesus Christ can establish you as he preaches the secret kept by God since the world began. This secret was told to Paul if we will only listen to him, and understand what he is saying. What Paul preaches is not in prophecy, and until Paul, man could not understand the gospel of Jesus Christ, which gospel He gave to Paul.
Now, as to JESUS' rejecting kingship at the time: John 6:15- "Therefore when Jesus perceived that they were about to come and take Him by force to make Him king, He departed again to the mountain by Himself alone."(That was after He had just fed some 5K people from one little picnic basket!)
We have to remember that God is in control, and not man. Notice “those men” in verse 14. “Those men” are not the leaders of Israel, the Sanhedrin. The High Priest resided over these, and no way would the High Priest or the Sanhedrin allow Jesus to live. It was not time for Jesus to go to the Cross.
Also as we continue to read in John 6 we see the reason those men wanted to make Him King. Not because they accepted Him as Messiah, but Jesus said “Ye seek me, not because ye saw the miracles, but because ye did eat of the loaves, and were filled”. They would have tried to make the “devil” King too, if he would feed them.
As for David's throne, and the existence of Israelites...Scripture is quite clear they both exist, the Israeli people have existed since Jacob's sons were born, and David's throne since the last 33 years of his life. How important was GOD'S promise to David? He STRONGLY reiterated it to Jeremiah, also promising there'd always be Levites(now part of the Jews...every one with the surname COHEN, Hebrew for 'priest')
I acknowledge this well known fact, and you can bet there will be some Cohen’s in the tribulation. We know God will not allow Satan to wipe out all of the Jews, but because of their unbelief there is no Temple today, and God has not made them a nation again. Until that time, there is no throne. Can you point to the throne of David today, and who is the King that sits on the throne. It’s coming, but not yet. Hebrews 1:13, ”But to which of the angels said he at any time, Sit on my right hand, until I make thine enemies thy footstool?”
Did GOD say there'd always be a descendant of David ruling over ALL ISRAEL? Newp! OTOH, God made sure to place the story of His dividing Israel into Israel & Judah after Solomon's death, with each continuing as a separate kingdom, with the house of David ruling the Jews only.( Remember, Jew is a nick for JUDEAN, and includes the Benjaminites & most of the Levites as well as the tribe of Judah. Paul was a Jew of Benjamin.)
All tribes circa 700B.C. of the Patriarchs became known by that name Yehudee, or Jew. This is the reason Paul calls himself a Jew.
Believe David's throne ended with Zedekiah? NOT ACCORDING TO SCRIPTURE! Let's see what God said to Ezekiel as recorded in the KJV:
I have never said the throne of David has ended. It just so happens that I know no one is sitting on the throne today, for there is no kingdom. You are the one claiming it exists today, and if so, where is it? I look for the rapture. Until after our “new bodies” are caught up to Him in the air, there will be no throne of David.
Ezekiel 21:25- "And thou, profane wicked prince of Israel, whose day is come, when iniquity shall have an end,26Thus saith the Lord GOD; Remove the diadem, and take off the crown: this shall not be the same: exalt him that is low, and abase him that is high.
Quite plainly, God is referring to Zedekiah. And NOWHERE does He say the throne was ended; He says it WON'T BE THE SAME.
I have never said differently.
27 "I will overturn, overturn, overturn, it: and it shall be no more, until he come whose right it is; and I will give it him."
Amen!
Let's examine this passage closely. Though I'm certainly no Hebrew expert, I spoke with a local rabbi who knows Hebrew quite well, and here's what he had to say...the three 'overturns' are the Hebrew word 'avvah', which means, to ruin or distort, & it can also mean 'overturn' in the sense of despoiling. There are THREE such overturns in this Scripture, which PLAINLY shows the throne did NOT end with Zedekiah, just mentioned in Scripture! This is the ONLY verse in which 'avvah' appears in the whole Bible.
I admire your zeal, and dedication in this matter, but I understand about the throne of David. You have misread my posts. This study has done you well, as hopefully you’ll file this to have ready for an unbeliever. Feel free to use any information I have furnished here, as it is irrefutable. To bad you can't answer any, disproving same.
As for "and it shall be no more", the Hebrew is-
suwm...put, set, place
bow...come, enter, arrive
mishpat...right, privilege
Clearly, the Hebrew means it shall be no more OVERTURNED(not DESTROYED) until He comes who has the right to it, and that, of course, is JESUS. We see Jesus did NOT take over an earthly throne while here as a man. As for His ascent to heaven...in several parables, He portrays Himself as a nobleman who made a journey to a distant place TO RECEIVE HIS KINGDOM. He begins to rule AFTER HIS RETURN! Although He's always been a King, He hasn't yet physically received His kingdom.
Yes, and you are saying what I have been saying all along. I believe you are beginning to get the picture now. Before you said Quote “God said that a descendant of David would rule at least some Israelis DURING EVERY GENERATION FROM SOLOMON ONWARD.” Unquote. I’ve said there is none ruling today. They must wait until we are raptured, and the Tribulation has run its course, before He returns.
BTW, this is one verse where the KJV is the most-correct of the various English translations. There are many instances in the KJV where the predicate of a sentence is left uncompleted as compared to today's English. Thus, the word 'overturned' wasn't placed at the end of V. 27, but by the Hebrew, that's what it means. Otherwise, it would contradict the several previous verses in which GOD promises David an unending, uninterrupted dynasty. Anyone believe GOD didn't know all this beforehand?
For understanding, we must take into account verse 26, which shows Zedekiah will be the last king on David’s throne. Not until “Shiloh”, so that shoots down your theory of someone always in every generation sitting on the throne of David.
Things to consider from Scripture:
"exalt him that is low, and abase him that is high."
Zedekiah and all Judah was soon abased. Now, who was low? The ten tribes of Israel! Somewhere, there were some Israelis exalted, or Scripture is wrong.
Scripture is correct, and you are wrong. Verse 26 explains the crown is taken off, and awaits the coming of the kingdom.
"this shall not be the same." What was God talking about? Why, the diadem & crown, of course, the symbols of royalty. How could they not be the same? The ruler could be known by another title such as "chief" or "head man", or any number of other names, while still being the de-facto ruler.
David had many sons, but the throne was established by GOD through SOLOMON. Solomon had many sons himself, and thus many descendants, and God is not specific about which one should be the ruler. Some, he DQ'd their offspring, such as Jeconiah; others, He removed, such as Zedekiah.
While CERTAINLY NOT a racist "British Israelite", the throne of England seems a possible candidate for the throne which jesus will take over. It's been overturned twice, from Ireland, to Scotland, to England(by King James, king of Scotland).
Strange sayings.
HOW SURE IS GOD'S PROMISE TO DAVID?
"I have found David my servant; with my holy oil have I
anointed him......... My mercy will I keep for him for ever
more, and my COVENANT shall STAND FAST with him. His SEED
also will I make to endure forever, and HIS THRONE AS THE
DAYS OF HEAVEN. If his children forsake my law, and walk not
in my judgments; If they break my statutes, and keep not my
commandments, then will I visit their transgression with the
rod, and their iniquity with stripes. Nevertheless my
lovingkindness will I not utterly take from him, nor suffer
my faithfulness to fail. My COVENANT WILL I NOT BREAK, nor
alter the thing that is gone out of my lips. Once have I
SWORN by my HOLINESS that I will not lie unto David. HIS
SEED SHALL ENDURE FOREVER AND HIS THRONE AS THE SUN BEFORE
ME. IT SHALL BE ESTABLISHED FOR EVER AS THE MOON, AND AS A
FAITHFUL WITNESS IN HEAVEN." (PS.89 :20-37).
IT'S RIGHT THERE IN YOUR OWN BIBLE, whether you use an older version or a newer one. DAVID'S DYNASTY IS NOT TO BE INTERRUPTED FOR SO MUCH AS ONE GENERATION!!!!!!!!! It may be called something else, but it's still the SAME DYNASTY or Scripture is wrong. And, no, I'm NOT lending any private interpretation to Scripture; I'm pointing out what's LITERALLY WRITTEN in Scripture, letting it interpret itself!
The Holy Spirit will allow you to see His interpretation if you ask, and it is the will of God.
Sorry, Ituttut, your "secret age" stuff is malarkey, with NO SCRIPTURAL BACKING, while the facts of Israel, Judah, and David's throne are plainly proclaimed in SCRIPTURE. I have answered with SCRIPTURE, not guesswork or opinion.
No backing other than the Words of Christ from heaven who speaks to all today, not just to the Jew as you have quoted, and completely miss the message that Zedekiah is the last King of the Jews, until after the Second coming of Christ, shown to us in prophecy.
I'm open to any other existing rulership being of David's dynasty, if one can present proof. Right now, to me, the British throne seems the best candidate, due to its two known overturns and its world influence. ACCORDING TO SCRIPTURE, IT'S GOTTA BE HERE SOMEWHERE!
