What do you think is easier to believe. That God would allow the King James, Tyndale, Geneva , etc.. to have verses that shouldn't have been included for hundredes of years. (end of Mark etc..) or that the new versions have rightly deleted them, which if God doesnt come soon, could be for hundreds of years.
You can't believe both.
I am not King James only by the way,
But I do prefer it.
how does this argument compare w the claims of the Vatican?
wld u believe that God cld've allowed the Holy See to not be the ultimate repository of His truth? that His church cld've been misled for over a thousand years until a renegade German monk discovers the real Gospel? that Sacred Tradition n the Magisterium shd be supplanted by Sola Scriptura in these modern years?
Maybe some got convicted of sin by reading the KJV and went on a quest to prove it is wrong and by believing it is wrong and attackig it can now justify sin in their lives or just live in denial until the Judgment Seat.
Yeah, I have 2 king james bibles that are exactly the same. ;)
Good point about the catholic heresy.
Like I said, I am not King James only.
I do preach from it for several reasons but I do use the nasb and niv for studying etc...
I only ask the question because you can believe for instance that the end of mark was there or it should be removed. Can't believe both.
As far as facts, how many of us have really got to see the numerous manuscripts locked up in whatever museum to study. I wouldn't even know what to do with them anyway;)
I believe he was talking about different versions - like the Geneva, Great, Bishops, Coverdales, Tyndales.
You know, those that the KJV departed from and changed in many places.
Hey, man, that's the KJV you're talking about!
To say anything bad about it, even though the things that you are saying are true and undeniable, is speaking the words of Satan.
The source texts for many so-called "modern versions" are considerably older than the source texts for the KJV et al.
So, even though the KJV is older, its source texts are considerably newer.
That doesn't make one more right than the other.
One of the reasons I refer to the NIV a lot is becuase, when there's a descrepancy between the texts, it places a footnote next to the text in question, referring to the source texts that it is found in.
Exodus 20:16.
"You shall not bear false witness against your neighbor.”
And the NASB, don’t forget, was written by Satan to deceive the Church.
Therefore, to obey the Ten Commandments in the NASB would be sinful.
Therefore the KJO gang has no choice but to bear false witness.
The KJV says,
Exodus 20:16
“Thou shalt not bear false witness against thy neighbour.”
But the word “not” was a printing error.
The real KJV says,
Exodus 20:16
“Thou shalt bear false witness against thy neighbour.”
