First muslim in Congress to use historic quran
Thomas Jefferson's book to be used in unofficial swearing-in

Of course, he had a quran in his collection of many books, he was fighting the Barbary Pirates (arabs/muslims) way back then - they have always been out to kill, plunder, rape, and destroy. Jefferson and the other founding fathers would probably turn over in their graves if they knew one was actually elected to Congress and is taking the Congressional Oath on the quran. It is such an affront to the FF and to Almighty God upon whose principles and laws this great nation was founded, starting with the Mayflower Compact. Now allegiance is being paid to the moon god of satan at our nation's capitol.

I think that the Founding Fathers would be proud that freedom of religion still exists over 200 years later in the United States.
The Congressman will not be sworn in on a Koran and no other Congressman/woman will be sworn in on a Bible. There is no book used in the official swearing in ceremony.
The Koran and Bible will be used by the representatives in the photo ops that mean absolutely nothing.
This whole issue is much ado about nothing. -
So if someone wanted to be unofficially sworn in using Mein Kampf, that would be much ado about nothing as well?
-
Yep.
I agree with what George Will said recently - I would want to be sworn in on the Federalist Papers. :) -
Well, let's just follow this story and see how the jihadists use it as propaganda for their cause to have a muslim flag flying over the US Capitol, shall we? I bet the photo will make all the arab media.

I wouldn't lose any sleep over it, LE. There are lot bigger, more important issues to be concerned about.

Personally, I couldn't care less, but I think he wants this specific copy as a direct result of the comments from Virginia Congressman Virgil Goode.

". . . no religious test shall ever be required as a qualification to any office or public trust under the United States."Moon god of Satan? Quite a flair for the melodramatic, eh LE?
From the Treaty of Tripoli, unanimously passed by the United States Congress:
Article 11. As the Government of the United States of America is not, in any sense, founded on the Christian religion; as it has in itself no character of enmity against the laws, religion, or tranquillity, of Mussulmen; and, as the said States never entered into any war, or act of hostility against any Mahometan nation, it is declared by the parties, that no pretext arising from religious opinions, shall ever produce an interruption of the harmony existing between the two countries. -

Now, MP, you're gonna bust LE's bubble if you keep quoting stuff like that.

I have some mixed feelings about Senator Byrd. He has indeed apologized for his youthful involvement in the KKK. He also carries, and refers to, a copy of the Constitution. He has also been a king of pork, but has also done good things for the people of his very poor state of West Virginia.

Heh, Tripoli and Thomas Jefferson:
So, no, the Founders Fathers wouldn't have been "proud". As for the Treaty of Tripoli, which was just a pact to stop the Muslim v. Christian wars, it was broken within a few years. -
Indeed the founders specifically stated that the United States was not founded on the Christian faith.

Whatever. But my point was Jefferson did read the Koran to help with his war on terror. A neo-con.

Moon god of satan is not melodramatic - it is the truth. Once satan gets a foot hold, it soon becomes a strong hold. But who cares, it's only the futures of our children and grandchildren at stake. We'll be dead. Let them live and die under sharia law.:tear:
Then again, maybe we will be raptured and won't care if the flag of allah is flying over the WH. -
