Just filled up my trusty rusty 4 cyl. yesterday: $60 at the pump  and that was for only 3/4 of a tank fill-up. Prices are running 1.31 - 1.35/litre here.
The guy in the bay next to me driving a Purolator Courier 3 ton van was telling me his fills up his truck every third day - $185 a pop. He liked my car - "have exactly the same for driving back and forth to work. If you think these prices are bad, it's twice as expensive in Europe." Being German, I guess he oughta know.
Some small consolation :tonofbricks:

Here it is currently $3.63-$3.76 a gallon. My husband has raised our usual $15. week to $20. week for gas.
-
My station just went over $4 a gallon and is $4.03. At close to 20 gallons to fill up, that's almost $80. :( Fortunately I only need to do that every 2 weeks.

My suggestion (my husband works for a local fuel supplier) is that we all start walking and riding our bikes more, and I am not kidding when I say that. Crude is spiraling as I type. It is already over $8 a barrel more today than yesterday.
Combine all your errands in one trip, don't go anywhere you don't need to go, be conservative for your own sake.
My son rode his skateboard down from his house a few days ago. He was a skater in high school, and he is 28 years old now. I laughed at him, and he said "why are you laughing? I just saved a couple of bucks!"

This thread will probably be moved to the "All other discussions" part of the board since we really can't "debate" gas prices.:saint:
Here in our corner of WV, our cheapest gas has hit a high of $3.99 a gallon. -
It just went to $3.95 this afternoon in the Eastern Panhandle of WV...
I was in VA yesterday and filled up at $3.69... near Harrisonburg. -
There was an old gas thread a couple yrs ago that I hope someone with time on their hands can find...
People were complaining over $2 a gallon for Gas...
Those were the days!!! -
Tinytim on a skateboard!!! Now that would be a scary sight:laugh:
People around here are combining errands.. and not going out unless it is needful...
We can stay in and crank up our AC to 70... just to make Obama mad!!! -
My home area is now average $3.85. It would going over $4 within 2 weeks from now. I would not be surprise gas will go up over $5 this year. It causes our budget tight and change our financial plans. I will not be surprise, few years from now, the price will reach $10.
To my consider why the gas prices so so high, my opinion, because of war in Middle East. This would leading us toward Armageddon in the coming years.
I am sure that many people will use bikes and walk instead of driving.
I cannot imagine how many people in China are use bikes instead of driving. Why not we should do the same thing as what Chona are doing right now?
Hey, I am curious what churches react on gas prices, because they have bus ministry. I notice many churches are sell their buses, and use vans because of church's finanical. I believe many churches will stop using buses, instead they use vans, or ask their members to drive to pick people, bring them to church.
I am curious, do any of your church is plan to stop use buses, instead of use vans to pick people, because of high gas prices?

Other tip to save gas during summer. Do not use A.C. on while driving, because it will rob or eating gas up quick. Instead opening windows down to save gas instead use A.C. on. Maybe I am wrong. What do you think of using A.C. while driving same time?

Rolling windows down and turning AC off doesn't help. The amount you save with AC off is offset by the drag created by the windows rolled down.
The biggest way to improve fuel economy is to slllllooooooowwwwwwww dddddoooooowwwwwnnnnnn.
Rather difficult for us fast food Americans, imo. -
Good advice. (Imagine that, I am agreeing with an Av´s fan!)
I paid the equivalent of US 4.27 the other day. Plus we are starting to see shortages of fuel. Sometimes I can only get 30 argentine pesos worth of gas because there is a limit in place to how much one may buy. 30 pesos does not get you very far with todays prices. -
I paid $7.92 a gallon this week
-
Just checked our local prices. Cheapest we see is 3.50 in our area.

Prices so bad I need....
Prices so high that I needed to take out a line of credit on the home to buy gas. Only kidding about the line-of-credit, but, it hurts those of us who live on a fixed [now broken] income. we get a 2% increase, inflation drives us deeper in dept.
Prophesy did say that it would take a bag of gold to buy a loaf of bread. I think we are getting to that point in time. Not there yet....but inching closer each day. -

I'm buying a scooter next week...75 miles to the gallon.
-
I hear ya! Just today i told my wife that pretty soon we will see sign at the stations that say, "90 days no interest" or "4.25% financing on any 10 gallon purchase now through July". -
My husband said on the way home it was $3.85
-
I filled up last night in Rockford for $3.93 / Gal., I drove today about 90 miles to Tinley Park (Southeast Chicago burb) and the stations there were charging $4.19.
Tomarrow I go to Naperville (West Chicago burb) and I will see what they are charging there. I will fill up again before I leave Rockford.

Here's three other things:
1. Get your tires properly inflated! This could save you 10% (3-4 mpg on an economy car; 1-2 mpg on a guzzler). Adds up...big time. My buddy drives a Corolla, and I pestered him to check his tires. Pre-check: 295 miles per tank; post-339 miles. That's $5 per fill-up...on a small-tank economy car!
2. Drive 55-60 if you can. Going from 55 to 70 burns about 15% more fuel. Yes, I know that in Atlanta that means you'll be killed...but at least you'll save enough $$ for a nice funeral. Seriously...that could be another $6-8 bucks per fill-up...or more.
3. Make sure your air filter & plugs are good. Plugs don't need changing near like they used to, but if they're fouled, you're suffering...but air filters being nasty can destroy your mileage (up to 20% if it's really bad).
