That is the definer of the passage. Needless to say, there is a great gulf of difference between the wisdom of man and the wisdom of God.
A helpful definition (one of many) of the wisdom of God is applying His perspective and strategies into practical affairs of earth. It is operating from His viewpoint and strategies, and not our own, which point I try to make in the "Cooperating with God in Eras of Political Change" post.

Anthro, regarding intellectual elite and acadamia:

I really don't make this stuff up on which I and others base our opinions. Just FYI, this is only one of many examples on which our opinions are based.
PS: Consider Romans Chapter 1: "professing themselves to be wise, they became fools." -
That hearalds from social engineers following Dueyimian thought. Good intellectuals typically know enought to poke holes all over Duey's philosophy. It is easy to do. I made a reply to the silliness.
The passage in Romans is talking about reprobation.
Always try to keep in mind that there is a huge difference between the wisdom of God and "wisdom," and that the wisdom of God is a comprehensive thing that extends to all of life, where we are supposed to be out moving and doing and receiving the wisdom. -

Anthro, have you mellowed out any since that thread? We missed you around here. ;)

Thanks.
To reply to your Q:
Well, the war was just breaking out as this thread was being written, so I think not a one of us were mellow by reason of that. Not a one. But as far as the changing of my basic underlying views on how we went about the war, and that being counter-productive to U.S. LONG-TERM interests, no, my view has not changed, though I do of course continue to learn and develop, and I continue to seek to think through everything critically coming from all sides of this debate.
