Licenses are granted to individual television and radio stations.
Networks, such as NBC, CBS, ABC, CW, et al, are not granted licenses.
And, of course, newspapers are not granted licenses at all by the federal government, nor are websites.
What are the licenses for? Where does it say in the license that the news agencies will only report truthfully?
Frankly, today's news stations -- ALL OF THEM -- remind me of the one news source, "back in my day," we always used as the benchmark: The National Enquirer.
I supported Trump, but do not agree with this. First of all there is the 1st Amendment and second of all this is not Trump's decision to make - it belongs to the FCC which is an independent organization. Face it, none of these yahoo's we elect to office care one whit about the oath they take when they get there. I am completely disgusted by it all.
Don't you remember that Obama actually went after that Fox reporter James Rosen? And he also tried to keep Fox news from reporting at the White House and constantly dissed them, saying they weren't being "fair" to him, even though he had all the other media outlets shilling for him.
I think sometimes Trump will say/tweet things - but he is not being literal - rather
he is simply trying to make a point.
But that's me.
Perfect example - when he said
"I could stand in the middle of 5th Avenue and shoot somebody and I wouldn't lose voters,"
Do you think he really would shoot someone?
IMHO - Trump just says what is on his mine -
is that Presidental - NO - but I think a lot of people like that about Trump.
No, because he's a bully and most bullies are really cowards. He likes to boast about how brave he is, but it's all bluster. That's why he has to attack anyone who disagrees with him and grind them verbally into the dust because he's so insecure. His daddy didn't do him any favors in constantly berating him. Trump is repaying the favor on everyone who disagrees with him. A pretty toxic result.
You have missed the point of what he said. He was talking about the moral blindness of his supporters, not what he intends to do. He was amazed by his ability to say and do terrible things and yet not lose the support of "the evangelicals," among others.
That's one of the most damning things that has been said of the American church in ages, and our President said it. Unfortunately, it's also true.
