Nice to hear from fellow Christians, seeking to share questions and answers concerning God's word.
I am not sure whether "strict Christian home" was meant to convey something good, or something off the mark.
In any event, welcome and hello back.

Glad to have you aboard !
Looking for some great discussions.
I see that Norway is "way up North!:
Looking at comparision - your Sunrise in Oslo was
0739 hrs this morning (local time)
- and my hometown - Syracuse, NY
0630 hrs!
Oh, by the way - Since I was military - I tend to use the 24 hour clock and
write the date - as
dd/mm/year - (though I prefer to write out the month)
where most Americans insist on the 12 hour clock -of AM/PM and
mo/day/year.
Well Nilsen, someday
Americans will learn the correct way!

Wonderful.
My great grandmother on my mother's side was from Norway.
I never learned exactly where and I understand we still have relatives there, but my family is very tight lipped.
:(
One day I hope to visit.
Norway has some great scenery.
Hope to have some chats over the months ahead.

The bible teaches order and discipline in the family and the church.
It is discipline with love and the other fruits of the Spirit.
I to was raised in a strict home environment.
Sometimes discipline is done in anger at that can be wrong.
Proverbs 22:6
Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he shall not depart from it.
1 Peter 5:5 Subject yourselves unto the elder, be subject one to another and be clothed in humility

Yes, today's society in the United States at least has gone to far in limiting how children can be disciplined.
Child abuse is a real issue, but child neglect is an issue too.
I think this is why we are seeing society crumbling, families falling apart and greater political unrest.
In my opinion, society tends to swing from one extreme to another rarely if ever resting in the middle.

That is state dependant. Varies greatly by locality.
