Ok, here is what you asked:
Yes a person can commit adultery and still be saved.
Yes a person can commit a homosexual act and still be saved.
Where is that in the Bible?
"For by Grace are you saved through faith, and that not of yourselves,
Eph 2:8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: [it is] the gift of God:
Eph 2:9 Not of works, lest any man should boast.
John 6:37
(37) All that the Father giveth me shall come to me; and him that cometh to me I will in no wise cast out.
John 5:24
(24) Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life.
(Notice the present tense of "hath".. we don't wait to be full of grace through our acts of attrition before we have everlasting life.. we have it now)
And notice this: it says... and shall not come into condemnation;
Rom 8:35 Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? [shall] tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword?
Rom 8:36 As it is written, For thy sake we are killed all the day long; we are accounted as sheep for the slaughter.
Rom 8:37 Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us.
Rom 8:38 For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come,
Rom 8:39 Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
Once a person is saved, they are eternally saved.. NOTHING shall separate a true believer.. but that is the kicker...
If a person can enjoy sin over and over and over without chastisement.. then that person was never saved.
Heb 12:6 For whom the Lord loveth he chasteneth, and scourgeth every son whom he receiveth.
Heb 12:7 If ye endure chastening, God dealeth with you as with sons; for what son is he whom the father chasteneth not?
Heb 12:8 But if ye be without chastisement, whereof all are partakers, then are ye bastards, and not sons.
If we didn't sin.. then why would God chastise us?
We can sin.. but we have the Holy Spirit in us that will help us to stay away from temptations....
OK.. since I answered.. explain why the Doauy R's (Catholic) has "full of grace".. Was Mary full of grace?
I'll Answer the Question . . .

Doing good works or keeping God's commandmenrts will not save anyone. We do not keep His commandments to BE saved; we keep them because we ARE saved.
We are saved by God's grace through faith and NOT by works, Ephesians 2:8,9. That includes keeping God's commandments for the purpose of finding favor with God. It cannot be done since we are told in God's word that "All our righteousnesses are as filthy rags."
If we do good works or keep God's commandments for the purpose of getting to heaven, we will remain eternally lost. NOTHING we do on our own is good enough. It HAS to be done selflessly for God's glory alone.
He will not recognize what we do unless (1) We are born again as Jesus said we must be. (2) The works we do are done for God's glory and not our own or for the purpose of gaining forgiveness and salvation--which does NOT work. -
If we depend on what we do or don't do to get to Heaven, our trust (Faith) is misplaced...
ONly those who trust Christ COMPLETELY will go to Heaven.
Those that believe they must do or don't do something in order to go to Heaven will go to Hell. And not pass go.. or purgatory!..
Trust in the FINISHED work of Calvary is the ONLY way to be saved..
"It is finished" means it was finished.. nothing for us to add! -
How did those in Corinth have this sin removed? "But you were washed, you were sanctified, you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and in the Spirit of God"
For you to believe that those committing sins of adultery and homosexuality could return to that lifesyle and STILL be saved without confessing and repentance, is not biblical.
2 Peter 2:20 “ For if they have escaped the defilements of the world through the knowledge of the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, they are again entangled therein and overcome, the last state is become worse with them than the first. For it were better for them not to have known the way of righteousness, then, after knowing it to turn back from the holy commandment deliver unto them. It has happened unto them according to the true proverb, the dog turning to his own vomit again, and the sow that had washed to wallowing in the mire”
Hebrews 10"26 " For if we sin delibertely after receiving the truth there no longer remains a sacrifice for sins but a fearful prospect of judgment, and a fury of fire which will consume the adversaries…how much worse punishment do you think will be deserved by the man who has spurned the Son of God, and profaned the blood of the covenant by which he was sanctified”
1 John 3:19–24]“ Now this is how we shall know that we belong to the truth and reassure our hearts before him in whatever our hearts condemn, for God is greater than our hearts and knows everything. Beloved, if our hearts do not condemn us, we have confidence in God and receive from him whatever we ask, because we keep his commandments and do what pleases him. And his commandment is this: we should believe in the name of his Son, Jesus Christ, and love one another just as he commanded us. Those who keep his commandments remain in him, and he in them, and the way we know that he remains in us is from the Spirit that he gave us. “

=Jon-Marc;1504043]And because God is the ONLY One who can forgive sins or tell us that they are forgiven. NO earthly person can do that. God said in Romans 3:23 that ALL have sinned. That includes Mary, priests, the pope, and the rest of us.

You believe you must "work" to keep your salvation, and I have a more "modern" view?
You apparently, believe you can lose your salvation. I've never been in a Baptist church in my 58 years that believed that. Does your pastor teach that? -
-
AMEN - Preach it brother Tim!!! :applause: -
So you are in disagreement with your church's statement of beliefs that a person who is saved can never lose their salvation. -

I am stunned to read that all of you believe that adultery and child molestation is not an indication that you were never saved to begin with.
Your theology seems to be based on George Sodini's theology
God help us.
http://www.pittsburghlive.com/x/valleynewsdispatch/s_637429.html
"George Sodini rests in heaven now because he professed a faith in Jesus years before his shooting rampage, a Tetelestai Christian Church leader said
Shortly after 8 p.m. Tuesday, Sodini walked into the LA Fitness Center in Great Southern Shopping Center in Collier and opened fire in an aerobics room filled with women. In addition to killing three, he wounded nine others before killing himself.
Sodini wrote in his online diary that the pastor at Tetelestai convinced him it was possible to commit mass murder and still be welcomed into heaven. In his blog, Sodini alleged that the Rev. Alan "Rick" Knapp taught Tetelestai members that committing such a crime could be forgiven. -
Do you never look on a woman and thing one lustful thought? I highly doubt that - and if you have ever had even ONE lustful thought, you committed adultery and, in your understanding, you will be going to hell. Is that right? -

Most of those that post here make a distinction between a one-time sinful act, and living a habitual life of sin. The former is possible for a Christian, the latter is not.
You asked if a person was saved if they committed a one-time sinful act. Tim answered yes, of course, no one can live a sinless life. When we repent and ask our Father for forgiveness, He is faithful to forgive us our sins.
You responded by accusing Tim, and others, of believing Christians can live a habitual life of sin without asking for forgiveness. They have not said any such thing.
I am interested in knowing how you can claim these Christians have said things that they most certainly have not said, and yet you don't seem to have any remorse for making false accustions against them.
That violates one of those commandments you are so diligently keeping.
peace to you:praying:
