If eating pork is wrong , I don't wanna be right.
O.K. I'm just kidding I'm not very big pork fan anyway.

Sorry LeBuick, thats what I get for not keeping up with the thread. -

Jesus was quoting right from there when He said to love God and love your neighbor.
That has always been the foundation of the Law of God. That never changes. -
-
But the question is - did God our Creator -- Christ Himself - actually know what He was talking about when He said that rats, cats, puppies and bats are not "food" for humans?
In Christ,
Bob -
Lev 19:18 is part of the Good Bible where God had "good ideas" "Love your Neighbor as yourself" Who can possibly turn a blind eye to that?
Lev 19:19 is part of the bad Bible where God was just being mean to Jews. So that would be a good text to ignore then slip behind that text when God says not to eat rats and as you do tell Him "hey just so you know -- you had a bad idea in Lev 19:19 how do I know that your idea about not eating rats isn't just another bad idea? I don't want to get tricked into reading and obeying the bad part of scripture Lord".
in Christ,
Bob -
And that neat thing is we could take that same approach to Lev 11 - letting God have all the animals that we really don't want to eat as "good ideas not to eat" (rats, cats ,dogs, mice) but then selecting out from among His list anything that would be too inconvenient for us to listen to Him about -- too restrictive on our wants and preferences to allow Him to go ahead with it.

The question is do you still obey this verse? (19:19) If not, then YOU are the one "picking and choosing" based on your criteria that "it's in the Word of God like v.18, and v.18 is still binding; and commands can only be abolished if they are from a 'bad Bible'". -
Think you said that enough times Eric? :)
Just kidding, I know it was accidental -
Yes, unless it is a ham sandwich with potato chips and salsa dip and your favorite beverage, at a picnic.
No, Lev 19:19 is not binding.

You can't steal your neighbor's pig and eat it, if that is why you are asking?

Then Eric totally forgets what he JUST POSTED above -- and says
Cat and kitten burgers -- in or out?
Do we let God get by with telling us that as the Creator He has not made these animals as FOOD for us??
Rat sandwiches?? How in the world can a Christian get so married to such a thing that they would turn a blind eye to God's Word as it tells us NOT to eat rats????
I see -- hmm what a great doctrinal basis for an argument.
It never occurred to me to use such tactics.

It appears as though Bob will never answer the question. I can understand why he would avoid it.

Simple question.... different kinds of seed... in or out?
cotton and polyester clothes -- in or out?
Do we let God get by with telling us that as the Creator He has not made these plants to be mixed??
Mixed fabrics ?? How in the world can a Christian get so married to such a thing that they would turn a blind eye to God's Word as it tells us NOT to mix fabrics????
Do we not keep sacrifices anymore?
THEN WE don't have to let God tell us not to mix fabrics!??
I see -- hmm what a great doctrinal basis for an argument.
It never occurred to me to use such tactics.
 :BangHead:
