I serve on the board of directors for a local school for children with developmental disabilities (Down's Syndrome, Sever Autism, Cerebral Palsy, etc.) We have an employee who has taken several days off of work to "prepare to meet the Lord" on May 21st. I had heard about this Harold Camping business but didn't realize just how many people were involved with it.
I blogged a short article about it here: http://pilgrimpastor.christianblogsi...ent-day-may-21
What think ye?

Try this. It looks like when I copied into the window it didn't take all of it... sorry... -

I wonder what scripture(s) the employee would have used to support his notion of taking days off work to prepare for judgment day.

"I would not have you, ignorant brethren..."

Thanks for the laugh. -

Unfortunately, I think this man hypnotizes people with that droning voice. I've listened to him since a friend of mine follows him and the garbage he teaches is so unbelievable. I can't believe sane people fall for him! Did you know that he's the ONLY person in history who teaches this because he's the only person in history who believes the Bible is "God breathed"? Yes, he actually said that. Oh, the words I have in my head for him. Forgive me Lord.

If a person needs several days to prepare for The Day of the Lord He must have a LARGE backlog of unconfessed sins.

According to this site Judgment begins at 6 PM EDT
It is just about 2 PM Sun ( 1900 hrs - GMT), 1100 West Coast.
That gives us 148 hours left......
Salty
ps, I wonder how much money the Govt can spend in 148 hours -

So they can rent more billboards and get more people into the lifeboats. "All you gots to do is say the prayer after me . . . ."

Sorry, the 21st has been postponed. My wife heads to Georgia on the 21st.
Cheers,

Well, here is what I am waiting for.
I am waiting to see what his excuse is going to be when it DOESN'T happen. What's he going to come up with as a reason as to why he was dead wrong?
That's what I want to hear him say. And you KNOW he isn't going to take any blame. He'll put some spin on it.
And with all seriousness and sadness, I find that many Christians and some who think that they are Christians are by far, the most ignorant people who walk the earth and the most gullible. From the chainmail emails that promise "blessings" if you pass them on and "curses" if you don't to entire congregations who follow the incorrect teachings of "preachers" such as Joel Osteen and J.S. (you figure it out) to the deceived who follow Harold Camping and his brand.....
....For every single nutcase out there that preaches, teaches, sings, pushes and promotes lies - and does so in name of Christ - you have a host of people who believe them. And these people all profess to be Bible-believing Christians.
All I know to say is that they don't know their Bibles. Because if they did, they would IMMEDIATELY recognize lies, half-truths, false teachings, and leaders who are nothing more than mental cases.
It makes me mad and sad at the same time. I just want to SHAKE some people!! -
The October date (when the earthquakes are supposed to end) is probably a temporary thing to fall back on, at least.
