Korn Guitarist accepts Christ

Help me out. What is a Korn guitarist? I play a National, but never heard of that brand . .
(Seriously, I've quit being surprised at God's grace. I am amazed, though, that he gives it to people who don't deserve it, unlike me.) -
Korn is a band. I ONLY know because their tour bus was on MONK two weeks ago. LOLOL
-
Fabulous! Maybe one of the guys from P.O.D. got through to him. He needs our prayers.
Funny, my 5&6 graders were talking about "Who can be born again?" on Sunday, and we all agreed even a rock star could, even though it would be unlikely. -
This is wonderful that Brian accepted Christ!! Maybe he will be able to be a witness to the rest of the band and even the Korn fans.
-
I find it interesting in the CNN article it just says that he "found God", and I was pleasantly surprised to find that on the Korn website it actually says he accepted Christ as His Savior. I pray that it was sincere and that he has a huge impact for Jesus Christ.
-
I saw that difference on the web site as well ... made me think that the band let him make the statement in his words. While I think cnn presented the words the world would use.
-
I am still laughing at ole' Bob ... Maybe you do deserve it ...
I just pray I am not there when you get "it". -
Someone posted another thread about this. Here is the post I put up over on that thread...
"I dont have the foggiest idea who Korn is, but I am assuming they are a rock band. Thats wonderful that this fellow has made the stand that he has. I was not a musician in a rock band when I was lost, but when I was born again I was drawn out of a life filled with a lot of things associated with rock and roll...reefer, drugs, the "party down, man!" lifestyle, etc.
What a wonderful change when Christ came into my life. Just a complete "180" as they say. Those places and things I no longer wanted to frequent or do. I was a "child of the King"!
I pray God will use him to reach others in need of Christ."
Praise the Lord for this new born brother!

Dr. Bob,
You said you play a "National".
Do you mean one of those vintage 1920's National Dobros?
I'm a Dobro player myself so that name caught my attention real quick.
Mike -
Ok, What is a Dobros?
-
El Guero...
(That name "dobro" became the un-official name for all of them because the "Dobro" company made some of the best originaly. They all came to be referred to as "dobros" even if they werent a "Dobro" brand guitar.)
They were invented back in the 1920's and the resonator in them that produces extra volume also gives them an incredibly beautiful "lonesome" and "old timey" tone.
Some blues musicians put a slide on their finger and play it that way while holding it like a guitar. It is very popular in bluegrass and "Old Time" music, and we play it flat in front of us using a bar like steel guitarists use.
They have been referred to as a "Guitar with a hub cap". :D
Click the link for a picture of one of the best dobro players in the world playing one(He is the dobro player for Alison Kraus and Union Station.)...

And here are a couple of dobros up close...

Help me out. What is MONK?
Thanks,

Haven't heard Korn, but heard of them, so just cracks me up that discussion goes from their guitarist (God bless him) to Nationals/Dobros Maybe that's what gave Monk a couple of his phobias? :D

Korn is a misspelled vegetable band.

Thanks! -
Korn was significant in being what the Columbine killers listened to (and perhaps got their inspiration from).
Great that one of them would get saved!!! -

"Monk" is a TV show (although I suspect the poster who asked the question was using sarcastic humor by asking) ;) There's a cartoonst named Dan Lacey who does a cartoon called Faithmouse. Here's his response to the news of Brian (Korn's guitarist)'s salvation...
